Train from Venice to Ravenna cruise port
Austin replied to Valerie W's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Not sure how soon you are traveling, but the train station is currently closed due to flood damage. RC offers transfers straight to Venice and Bologna airports. -
Ravenna flooded, embarkation port changed.

We are arriving in Ravenna on the 28th and they are offering shuttles to Bologna and Venice because the train station in Ravenna is closed due to damage. Departure was pretty smooth. They checked us in at the old Venice terminal 107 and we boarded buses to Triste where we got right on. Added some time, but was neat to see Triste and everything leading to the ship. -
Notified this evening that Ravenna port is closed due to area flooding and now will be embarking from Trieste (May 21). Interestingly, they have asked everyone go to check in at the old Venice port Maritima in Venezia and then they will transfer everyone to the ship in Trieste. Has anyone else had a similar situation? I’m wondering if they are going to transfer us by ferry or bus and what the best way to get to the port is in Venice.

I think she did in 2021 so she would not be due yet. 4 days isn’t really enough time.

Yes, but Utopia is an Oasis Class ship, not Icon Class…

Nothing except a 10 counts on the surveys. Lots of corporations (retail to healthcare) use these type of surveys and even a score of a 9 “counts against you.” It doesn’t make sense, but that’s how it’s handled.

Precovid we did a martini tasting on Rhapsody in the schooner. Didn’t see it on a recent sailing though.

Port Canaveral is Number One!

It would be nice to see JaxPort built out. Lots of room for expansion and close proximity to airport and the city. -

Ultimate Caribbean Cruise 15/1/23 to 29/1/23

We should start a complaints forum so these ghost posters can post nonsense there -
Just off Freedom and they managed to deliver it on a 3 nighter so you might get lucky.

We have Adventure and Wonder from PC and Freedom from Lauderdale calling on PR in 2024 and 2025. Jewel can stop at smaller ports in the southern Carib like Trinidad and Tobago. I think we will see more with the release of winter itineraries for 24/25. PR was also slow to normalize things post Covid. You could say the same for calling on Antigua… they dredged their port for Oasis sized vessels but none are visiting. Only a few select smaller ships.

Special events such as the Super Bowl while on board

Same on Freedom. -
Port of Miami - is Oasis always facing forwards?!
Austin replied to Bazza's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It just depends who is there and the order of arrivals… I was ON freedom last week and Grandeur was at the end near the turn table at terminal G. Freedom had used it prior to our cruise so she was facing away from Miami. When we came back, she didn’t use the turn table that AM and there wasn’t a ship down at G -
I would recommend against licking your fingers after petting the turtles.

A cocktail geek walks into a cruise-ship bar....

Some of my favorite bartenders have been on the smaller ships… tend to have more personalized service and they know you on a first name basis and even learn what you like/make suggestions based on what you usually have… just my take. -
Jewel goes to Trinidad in the winter 23/24 season. We just went there on Rhapsody last month. Martinique you can get to on the Vision or Radiance class (just not a lot of dates). DR has popped up on a lot of itineraries for the next couple years now that the port is finished… look at Odyssey, Adventure and Wonder from FL.

Navigator, Freedom, Oasis, Odyssey, and Wonder have them. Mariner does not.
