I've done a lot of research on here as well as around the inter webs...curious, what are the best 2-3 things to do in Sitka?  I'm leaning towards hiring a private captain for a boat tour then just wander around town...unless I'm missing something?  Not a lot of great reviews of Sitka in comparison to other stops...

Now - Victoria BC - I am hearing nothing good.  Does RCCL simply stop there to get the boats close to port or what...bc very few folks talk highly of it...what should we do for a day there?

Of note - will be my wife and I, and 3 teenage kids...

so it is required to sail to canada on an alaska cruise

PVSA Under this act, foreign-flagged ships must visit at least one foreign country during the cruise. A cruise line would face significant penalties for not complying.

PVSA came into force in 1886. At the time, U.S. ferries & passenger liners were feeling squeezed out of domestic shipping routes by foreign companies.

The legislation was an attempt to protect and grow U.S. shipping by eliminating these foreign competitors.

Much has changed in the 135 years since, and while it now arguably prevents growth rather than supports it, the PVSA remains U.S. law

    Hello All!

Just wondering if anyone has recently gotten their pre-cruise COVID tests done in Fort Lauderdale? If so, where did you go, and did you have to schedule it in advance?

We arrive in Fort Lauderdale 5 days before we board the AOS in March, and will need to get our tests done. We were not planning on renting a car while we were in Fort Lauderdale, but I don't know if an Uber or Lyft would take us through a Walgreens or CVS for the drive thru testing.

I did see that Snyder Park, in Fort Lauderdale, offers free drive thru and walkup rapid antigen testing Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Curious if anyone has used this before too.

Thanks in advance, and happy sailing!!!

    Bill

    Bill,

Buy a covid test from the optum store. It has to say Rx and you take the test in the comfort of your hotel room. $30 a test.  Order now and take with you.  https://store.optum.com/shop/products/abbott-binaxNOW-COVID-19-ag-at-home-test-kit-2-pack

In a little over a month, I will (hopefully) embark on my first cruise as a Diamond member.  I will be on the Allure.  I am very excited!  Can anyone tell me what hours the Diamond concierge is available and if he/she can help with dinner (UDP) and entertainment booking?

    Thanks all!

Yes the concierge in the diamond lounge can help you. Hours are usually 8am-10am and 4:30-8pm.  Just stop by the diamond lounge when you board and the hours should be posted on there desk.

So…I checked on my set sail pass tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see our room was changed to a JR Suite for our Symphony departure on Saturday. I have not received an email yet stating my offer was accepted and our luggage tags still show the original room. Should I expect the luggage tags to be updated as well before we leave or should I call and have them confirm/update?

Just know that you will NOT get suite points for the royal up award.  Enjoy the JS
