  1. That fried cheesecake is very rich and decadent. I'm a Choc Chip Cookie person, through and through. But all the deserts are really good.
  2. I personally don't mind paying $175 for the week and driving myself there. I have a truck and last time I was told to park in the outside lot. Not sure if that was because I had a truck or if the garage was full already at the time I got there but it was fine. It's a short walk to the terminal either way. Then on the last morning I woke up at the crack of dawn, had my bags with me and was one of the first people off the ship. Went through to customs very quickly and was on my way out and home. Took me 55 mins to get home from Jersey at that time on a Sunday. Was home by 7 am! Not sure how it will be on a weekday drop off though. Will find out soon. If you have a family member who is willing to make the drive both times to drop you off and get you, it's a savings.
  3. Always plan for impending bad weather. If we're going to get snow, leave your house even earlier than planned. You always have to plan for traffic/construction and bad conditions.
  4. I am also from LI and love cruising out of Bayonne. I have a cruise in October and December. Park at the Port. Get there earlier than your check-in time. Wear whatever is appropriate for the weather for the day you leave. I usually wear that same outfit on the last morning getting off the ship. Easy walk to your vehicle and bam, on the way home. Novembers have been pretty mild last few years here, so I wouldn't stress too much over it. Once the ship leaves port and goes South, the weather will increasingly get warmer. But for the trip itself, pack normal vacation clothes. The Pool might be too chilly for day one, but you can always head to the hot tubs. So pack a carry-on bag if you want to change into a bathing suit for Day 1. You won't be able to get into your room until after 1pm-2pm. Maybe a light windbreaker for the sea days on the first day and the last day going back for outside decks. Hope this helps! (DM me if you have other questions)
  5. Recommendations for eateries in Bermuda, preferably for Fish and seafood. I've heard Woody's, Wahoo's, Lobster Pot and Bonefish are pretty good.
  6. #1 reason is Great crew and customer service! #2 good food and awesome desserts! #3 better overall experience When I get to Diamond I'll try Celebrity to see how it compares.
  7. I'll let you know after December. I've been on Oasis, will be on Anthem at end of year.
  8. Please let us know how it goes!!! I saw a video of I believe Anthem on Halloween a few years ago an they had costume contests and a haunted "house" where you can walk through. I'd love this. My next cruise ends before Halloween, but I'm going to decorate my room anyway. I love this time of year.
  9. I think for me it's any crew member that makes me feel special. I've experienced this with a Head Waiter on Jewel, Waiter team on Freedom and a Bartender on Oasis. They took the time to get to know me/spend time with me, to spoil me with extras and of course make my experience even better. Maybe that's my love language. I appreciate that more.
  10. So the heli didn't land on the pool deck, just lowered the stretcher?
  11. correct. Mine didn't either. Just passport. and just answer the health questions.
  12. if you want to mingle, it's very easy to meet people. You can meet them at dinner, at a show, at the pool or bar. Cruisers are very friendly. Or chat it up with the crew. In my experience, you make at least one new friend on every cruise. if you don't want to mingle, you can easily be an introvert and find quiet corners to people watch or just chill. You can do whatever you want!! Cruising is very safe, so don't even worry about walking around at night alone. If there's something specific you want to know, message me.
  13. Hey Long Island!! Me too! I also travel solo. Have an awesome time!!
  14. thanks for this!! I need new sneaks. I'd like to add if it is rainy season bring wool socks to wear with your sneaks.
  15. Do self-disembark and get to the exit very early, like 30 mins before the scheduled open time. Maybe even earlier. Wait in line. Last time I was on Oasis, I got up early thinking i'll hang out in the promenade with my luggage and the line was already forming. Newark is close, so hopefully you can get out, past customs and on way to airport quick. I don't see you having any "lay around" time. I always get to an airport at least 2 hours before a flight. You just never know. Good luck!
  16. That's all I do. Solo! Been on 3 so far and 4 upcoming, all solo.
  17. the sugar free desserts are yummy! they are labeled.
