  1. We do know the lines are starting to sail from non-US embarkation ports in June. So 100% from non-US starting points. More lines will be starting operations, and existing operators will need to expand operations (overseas) if USG control continues. I'll guess a 50% probability of a US port restart based upon some unconfirmed observations of crews moving into in Florida hotels. Guessing 80% probability for Nov '21. If EU is truly opening to vaccinated US citizens, I would expect a surge in European starts if they're including cruising in offerings to vaccinated Americans. (Unsure if there will be more vaccinated Americans than EU general population as summer roles around.)
  2. 6 booked, but not booking anymore until after I see what happens Nov '21. If not improved, we'll refocus on non-US itineraries and bite the bullet on spending more on overseas air travel.
  3. Not sure how they would get a vote. How does the CDC control what a US tourist could do while in the EU? Control US re-entry by adding onerous requirements? But they need to know you're cruising first.
  4. I’ve been guessing a 90 day lead time required for crew assembly. Certainly this rumor would be in that window.
  5. Unfortunate especially for those who made it to St. Maarten. Hope they at least have the opportunity for vaccination.
  6. Whats sad now is Azamara and Celebrity had reciprocity to including point count.
  7. Response time from customer service. When I elect to make a direct booking, I'll have an occasional question that I really don't need an immediate answer so I'll use the message feature on the website. Primarily because I don't really want to wait on a phone line and fine with an email response in a few days. My experience has been very poor with receiving any response within weeks (if I get a response at all). An other frustration is the "less than straight forward" way they advertise, buy one item get the second 50% off. I've become rather cynical about the sale promotions because they're cleverly packaged and really aren't good deals. They just keep the prices high on the first item to cover any discount on the second package/item.
  8. I suppose you could actually pay for a package or cabana and see if you ever see a refund.
  9. That's because all the fun has not yet been defined. They keep inventing new fun and don't know when to stop.
  10. Celebrity advertising inexpensive flights to catch the Milli. Also rolling in air on new Galapagos bookings.
  11. Yep - even with formal. My wife and I have always seen it as a challenge - and have met it. 7-day carry on. Watch the shoes - they drive volume, other stuff can be rolled. You can aways turn things inside out too! Although you must forget the snorkeling gear.
  12. Are the results available on-line, or do you get a post card?
  13. Curious if the Magic Carpet will stay in the baseline "as is". With Apex there was no choice. Wind issues really altered much of the original intent.
  14. Patronize the cruise line and the new home port country.

  16. I remember when the Autotrain was introduced. They used to run ads promoting the Disney theme park run. Very cool its still operational.
  17. Overreaching - if folks start from overseas ports - they lose control.
  18. The current instructions are obsolete and don't seem to account for the improved situation to include vaccine distribution.
  19. I'm sympathetic to these ports limiting a number of ships at any given time, but not for out right bans. Where there's "wake" erosion risk, limiting ship displacement might be valid criteria used to mitigate risk.
  20. Yes that is a feature you need to watch. For domestic flights, we can get direct anywhere in the US (and many major international cities) from DFW . I had that happen once with Celebrity on a flight to MIA. Paid for the direct, and they switched me to a connecting route (added 5 hours to flight time each leg). As that was pre-plague, they actually accommodated and changed it. So from now on, I book direct with airline the day before, but will still use FBC or Air2Sea for international.
  21. To be Frank, I'd have to change my name.
