Exactly, I never look if there's a "sale". I just check the prices online almost daily and if the price is lower than what I've already paid, I cancel and rebook.

Yes, $18/day is as low as I've seen it since the restart (other than $17/day Black Friday).

It just shows up.

Harmony from Galveston?
billdauterive replied to melmar02's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Exactly. I'm hopeful the new terminal will have a 3rd ship brought in at some point in the not too distant future to sail the "non-standard" itineraries similar to Carnival. -

Also be careful of non-RC tours for Belize City as it is a tender port. I learned the hard way a few years ago when the first tender I could get on boarded an hour after the tour I pre-booked was scheduled to leave (and it wasn't early, something like 2-3 hours after ship arrival). I was even one of the first to get a tender ticket that morning, but there were so many RC excursions and I believe Diamond and up statuses at the time, over half the tickets were gone before I even had a chance to get one.

For Costa Maya as others have already mentioned it's Maya Chan as the safe bet. However if that's filled I would also recommend Almaplena Beach Resort. It's similar to Maya Chan with a nice beach and all you can eat and drink. It's further down the beach, but accessible via the "highway" so the overall travel time is the same as Maya Chan. It doesn't have any toys to play in the water but is a little more tranquil and secluded if that's what you're looking for. I personally like it a little more than Maya Chan but I haven't been back since covid to see if anything has changed. I've only been to Nachi Cocom in Cozumel, but like it enough I've never thought of trying another beach spot there yet.

Reasonably priced means different amounts for different people. Personally I think the Butchart gardens are the must-do and very reasonably priced.

I believe all mine have shown up within a week of submission since covid. I've done some a few weeks out and some multiple months out and it hasn't made a difference for me personally.

Masks and Unvaccinated Kids after 2/25 …..
billdauterive replied to ChrisK2793's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I got this email yesterday for my spring break cruise. I just ignored it since my kids vax are already verified in the app. Just realized I probably should have saved it to share that information here. -
Car rental after cruise - Port Canaveral
billdauterive replied to RG-IE's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I can't speak from personal experience but I'm trying Enterprise in Sept (for a quick Disney World visit after). It looks close enough to just walk to from the terminal and I think they share a lot with National and Alamo. I know Matt's mentioned rental cars for one way trips to/from Port Canaveral/Orlando as a transportation option in a few posts. Following his advice on the unknown hasn't let me down yet! -
Good point. If I'm on a cruise to just get away and live like a Roman emperor for a while (eat drink and be merry) then hitting double digits each day is a forgone conclusion (20+ is not overly difficult for me either). In that case DX makes sense no matter what level I am. But if I'm on a cruise for the ports and a more traditional "vacation" experience then just a few each day is sufficient (just like on land based vacations). This is where the Diamond and up levels come in to play on whether the DX is worth it for me personally.

I can only speak to the Liberty's, but no.

HDMI ports on Liberty of the Seas
billdauterive replied to TexasAngel1980's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Liberty's TVs definitely have accessible hdmi ports. But this is a good point that just because they are accessible doesn't mean they can actually be used. I've never actually tried to use it, but I might next time just out of curiosity. -
It's way more sedate and quiet. I'm not a huge wine drinker, but I love the laid back atmosphere and comfortable seating. I just get specialty beers from the pub across the promenade and standard drinks (and obviously wine) there.

This is the best advice. Also make sure to bring plenty of smaller bills as you may not be able to make change easily on the boat or on shore.

They serve cocktails as well. I don't think they have a blender for frozen drinks though.

I'm looking at this option too. I think the water bottles (now cans) is a value that most people forget about from the packages. So saving just the difference between the deluxe and refreshment is still pretty significant and can buy several extra alcoholic drinks per day on top of the vouchers including tips. I'm also looking at pre-purchasing multiple 24 packs of water as an option since I don't drink anything other than water and alcohol (but I drink A LOT of water). 24 packs are under $1/can even during non-sales on short cruises. Unfortunately my traveling partner also drinks specialty coffee and soda so it's a little tricky to try and thread the needle.

I'll be on the Mariner for the first time in a few months and I've never been on a ship with a restaurant that has a food credit for the UDP instead of the straight cover charge before. My question is how many times can I visit Playmakers each day for the $20 credit? I'm assuming I can go multiple times a day if I wanted to and have $20 each visit (just as I could technically go to multiple cover charge restaurants each night if I could physically fit all that food in my body). Basically I think I may want to use Playmakers as my late afternoon and late night craving go to instead of Sorrentos but don't want to be limited to just one potential visit a day.

EVERY cruise. If you cruised a 7 day each week all year, you'd get a total of $5200 in OBC (which is tax free). That's why it's such a great deal for anyone who cruises frequently anyway (assuming the stock price isn't significantly over valued).

Couldn't have said it better. Treat it like a dividend and it's a pretty decent investment for frequent cruisers. At today's close the "yield" is over 1.2% for each week cruise you take. For comparison the S&P 500 yield has hovered around 1.5% the past few years.
