  1. Hello, everyone!  My wife, two children (9 and 5) and I will be visiting Nassau from 7AM to 4PM on Enchantment of the Seas in September 2020.  We will have just been at Coco Cay the day before.  What is a good recommendation?  I see some people like and dislike the Blue Lagoon (Matt on this site like the VIP section, but I have heard other people say how it takes forever to get there and back...eating into the fun time of the excursion), but I wonder if the hours we are in port make that amount to less time there than I would want for paying for the excursion.  Also, there is a glass bottom boat tour.  Most of the excursions have age limits not allowing the kids and wanted someone's take.  I am not a risk seeker and do not really like the idea of walking around Nassau on our own.  Any tips, advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

PS - We are all fully mobile and are just in it for the fun.

    Thanks!

  2. As a curious question, how will you know what is covered by your drink plan?  I saw at the bottom of the PDF form that it listed $12 as the limit on some sailings.  How can I find that out for my sailing?  If I email, I am guessing I will get a bot answer of some kind.  I am hoping it covers up to $13 cocktails (yes, I know it is only $1 + gratuity more per drink.....but a lot is being paid for the package already)....

    Thanks!

PS - Looking forward to celebrating sailaway and 10 years of marriage with a drink in one hand and my wife's in the other.

I have not been on Enchantment so I cannot confirm but on MOST ships, the Chops lunch (not including the Key) is served in the restaurant and uses the normal Chops lunch menu.  I do know that on Oasis, Chops is no longer open at all on embarkation day (unless this has changed since December).  So if you have purchased either a Chops lunch or the Unlimited Dining Package, you should be able to have lunch in the Chops restaurant on embarkation day, except on Oasis.

Thank you!  Would you recommend paying for a specialty for embarkation lunch?  I have heard that the Windjammer is kind of nuts on day one.....Like we will not get enough food over a cruise....LOL.....We just want to be chill....

    Thanks!

  4. Hi, all!  I was wondering if anyone knew how the lunch worked for Chops on Embarkation day?  I know the Key lunch menu is served in the MDR, but the Cruise Planner shows a more robust menu for Chops lunch.  I have heard it go both ways that Chops serves the Key menu on embarkation day (not on others) and that it does serve the menu listed on the Cruise Planner.  Can someone who has cruised recently let me know?  If it helps, this is for Enchantment of the Seas in September 2020.  Thanks in advance for all of your help as always!

  5. I had to go from EOS in March (great deals on the Blue Lagoon and $18.99/pp/per day on The Key)......Now, the prices for the EOS 9/25/2020 sailing has about a 25% higher price on the Blue Lagoon and $26.99/pp/per day on The Key.......I know The Key is not popular with some, but it was a good deal in my mind as I needed Internet as well......I am watching and hoping for some deals when sailing (hopefully) resumes soon....

BTW, I would have loved a drink package (my wife and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary a wee late now); but we will be buying a drink at a time at these prices (especially with having a couple of non-CoCo Cay port days).

PS - Thanks everyone for sharing all the information on here!  It is so helpful!

  6. Thank you both!  My boy is a hyper ADHD boy.  He just turned five and seems like Bam Bam from the old Flintstones cartoons.  He can lift a sofa up and do all kinds of things.

I was thinking of maybe using a chain with a small lock.  We all love a balcony, but we want to make sure nothing happens.

I am open to any ideas.  Of course, we plan on supervising him; but he sometimes has evening adventures (when he is naturally in stealth mode).

    Thanks!

    Enchantment is a great ship!

I'm actually sailing this same itinerary but not until later in June.  Please take some pictures of the Daily Cruise Compass and send to @Matt when you get back so we can take a look at all the activities!

Having said that, you can see prior Enchantment Cruse Planners at the link below.  This can give you an idea of some of what the ship has to offer.  Yes, there's no water slides or things like that, but there's still plenty to do on Enchantment.  My wife and I had a blast on our cruise last summer, so much so we did not hesitate to book on Enchantment again this summer.

Thank you!  I have been looking at the cruise compasses, but they have been for shorter cruises on that ship.

Do you by chance know of anything fun to do as spouses in the afternoon or late morning?  What did you both like?  We will use the kids zone some during those times and were thinking of trivia but wanted to see what people who had been there/done that think.

    Thanks!

  8. I got upgraded from a guaranteed interior stateroom to an oceanview window cabin after final payment date for no difference in price by calling a couple of different times.  The first person told me that it was not possible to upgrade because the upgraded room type I wanted cost the same or less now.  The second person upgraded me for no additional charge (I was shocked and very happy....I was expecting to have to pay at least something).  Now, this process took about an hour on the phone between both calls but was worth it in the end for me.

  9. I have never sailed Royal Caribbean before and got the Key for a March 30, 2020, sailing on The Enchantment of the Seas out of Galveston, TX.  It was roughly $200 more than just the internet (we need it for medical reasons).  The nice meals coming and going plus some timesavers/service to make things easier were appealing to me.  I know you can work around this and do not need it, but we are traveling with our two children (one is a Type 1 diabetic and one has severe ADHD) for our 10th anniversary.  I wanted the easy button and viewed the upcharge as worth it in relation to most excursions.
