September of last year they were $34 each way per person. Seems like a lot but it is a long way from LAX to the cruise terminal.

It doesn't seem like a long way. 20-30min depending on traffic, whereas it is a good almost hour from MCO to the PC terminal.

Be wary of the Royal transfers as they will not only wait until they are full but will pick up from other spots as well.

  2. I think maybe OP has sailed on none commercial lines or even Disney. With RCG, NCL and CCL, they take photos and it is attached to your seapass card, which will display drink package, so no need for an ID.

You can technically order a drink without having your seapass card by giving your room number, but again there are photos of everyone in the cabin.

  3. So as long as the child(ren) are under 18 they share status, while traveling. Once they turn 18, they get the status of their points.

There was another post about this where a person child didn't keep the Diamond status when they turned 18 because they didn't travel with the parents and earn all the points.

    Good Morning

My next cruise isn't until August.  I just paid the final payment, and wanted to bid on a higher class cabin (I have a balcony now).  I logged into the website where you are supposed to bid, but when I do, a message tells me something about "within 30 days"  Do I have to wait within the 30 days of my cruise in order to be able to bid?

I am new at this...any tips?

    Thank you!

I know a few of the other poster replied. But forgot to mention that not everyone will qualify for a RoyalUp. Some people will continue to get that message and be within the 30-day time frame. RoyalUp is a third-party service, and their selection criteria is unknown. Prior to capacity increasing, I have been able to bid in Oct for a Jan cruise, which was more than 60 days. I honestly doubt much will be available for an Aug cruise because the summer seems to be selling pretty well.

  5. I looked it up and it says they share tier until they turn 18. So, it sounds like they last rep was right.

I took this from the FAQs.........

19 Children share the same tier (up to Diamond Plus) as their parent until age 18. Children of Pinnacle Club members enjoy select onboard benefits of their parents, however, not the tier. Children will be removed of a relationship with a parent or guardian upon their 18th birthday. If it is found that a dependent or child is not immediately removed from a relationship upon their 18th birthday and accumulates a higher tier status outside of this time period, the dependent's record will be adjusted back to the appropriate tier status

  6. I was talking to a girl on one of my last cruises who had this issue. She said her status reverted to her point level because she hadn't sailed as many nights as her parents who were diamond plus. We were on Mariner and the LA told her she maintained that status until she turned 18, at which point she would need the points to match her levels. So, it seems that they match status until 18, which is what the FAQs mention.

She had 32 and was Emerald.

If this is the case, Royal Caribbean and the CDC are going to have to seriously reconsider the testing procedures. If people can't get tested two days before at any pharmacy, then the only option is the eMed tests which are pretty expensive and not full reimbursed by most insurance.

Not really as travel is a leisure expense, so not having free testing for cruises/travel isn't up to the government. Those free testing perks were for people who needed to be tested to go back to work.

On another thread he notes that he was on the Allure sailing that missed CocoCay due to diverting to FLL for a medevac.

I saw that and realized they really want us to be sympathetic or help them as if we are RCG. That being said, if they choose to offer compensation, it is a gesture of goodwill.

At my company we sign NDA's 50% of the time, and I am SHOCKED at how few people actually read these legally binding documents. I always read the fine print on something that will cost me money, time and have possible negative effects on my life.

  9. Check in will be done way prior to when the ship sails, it used to be at 90 days when final payment was due. It makes sense because you wouldn't pay for something unless you were sure you are going. With the covid stuff, which could potentially change plans, they have reduced check-in times to half that. The last part is the health questionnaire 24hrs before you board. If you test positive beforehand than yes, they offer a refund, but no refund for not having completed the testing requirements.

  10. I sailed a lot solo during and before the restart. I think certain attributes will be personal as what is "best." It is all about how you make things. Although I am tired of St. Maarten and Nassau, a great ship can make it the best even with that itinerary. Traveling solo means you can snorkel for hours, eat when you want, not have to wait or deal with other people's moods. You can chat up soon to be friends or spend your time reading in random places about the ship. Plus, as a solo person, you often get to do a lot more things because they only have to accommodate one of you.
