  1. Mine update right away after I won last week. But it should only take a couple of days at the most.
  2. To each their own with regards to when they fly. Not everyone can fly in the day before, this happens to work for me, and I am willing to take that chance as a solo flier. I wouldn't advise it to anybody/for everybody. Because I don't always know other's circumstances. I never do connecting flights and always start with the first one out. If something happens, I have insurance. There could be just as many cancellations and delays flying in the day before, things happen.
  3. Welcome to boards, I am glad you had a wonderful cruise. I still can't say it was misleading as the term "existing members" was used.
  4. Depending on the ship, the menus were attached to boards. I had them on Nav, Harmony and Odyssey, while it was paper on Indy, Mariner and Freedom. YMMV. I personally don't care for the boards, I prefer just the laminated menus, they are more sanity.
  5. Only on Oasis class ships, that is an important note. A good chunk of the ships has JR but most aren't Oasis class.
  6. I can see why this is the way it is. To be honest it is not a change I would particularly look forward to. On the one hand it would be nice to prebook dinners, but the cost savings would no longer be available.
  7. With the packages you HAVE to wait until you board, that's the tradeoff for the discount.
  8. To answer your question, I fly out of MDW in Chicago which is a hub. I did 7 people in Nov on SWA, I cruised before them, so I was solo but 6 did the first trek over. My brother was in charge of wrangling everyone and he said it was rough. There were bathroom stops, confusion, and attitudes. That was out of FLL and Port Everglades. Port LAX is a pretty messed up port. As I said there is almost no place to wait, the port staff are hit or miss, and people are .......people. I had one of the earliest check-ins which at the time was 11am and I arrived to a mess. My experience was very similar if not the same as @WAYNO
  9. But that's you interpreting that, it is clearly communicated unless you take things out of context. That read as the lowest level will qualify......as Gold is the lowest tier. Some promotions don't apply to the lowest level, which is why they specified it.
  10. As long as you are off the ship before 8am and heading to the airport around then your 11:30 flight might be doable. However, keep in mind the boarding process, lots of people fail to factor in that boarding ends no less than 20 minutes before your departure. That means you only have until 11:10 to be on the plane before doors are locked and closed. Only in MCO have I heard and seen many people who cruised missing their flights because of this.
  11. I will say if you are a single person cruising, you have a higher chance of being let in at any time.
  12. I have seen a chocolate fountain on a couple of my sailings this year, all in the WJ. Marshmallows, fruits, and weird textured cake bites.
  13. I used fast-food, theme parks etc. in my quote because they are the same size as the ones on the cruise ship. We used to have one in my building that was small, but it was made for a company.........which is why it's not listed.
  14. Yes, the cost covers as much as you want to eat plus JR soda.
  15. When they advertise sales, it is in a basic way, but some things will never really go on sale. The UDP will go on sale but everything else dining related is just a cheaper price than you would pay on board. The UDP doesn't include Chef's Table or Taste of Royal lunch, you will get it at a discounted rate as an additional charge. You can do the math and see what you would like.
  16. It is one per household regardless of separation of staterooms. That's for the gift and crystal blocks, of course all other amenities are per person.
  17. When I was in FLL/PE last Nov, they were enforcing the times. Maybe 30min but nothing before that, they were making people wait outside. C&A status has nothing to do with boarding times.
  18. 5 Days to go...... At noon tomorrow I will officially be done with work for at least a whole week. Sometime after the 18th I will have to log into Teams or Zoom for an hour or two, but I am okay with that. My brother's workweek ends on Thurs, and he will be busy Friday trying to pack and get a haircut. Jan is our slow month and 6/8 of the employees will be on a cruise. Three will be on the Jan 14th Symphony sailing, one will be on Explorer the same day as my Oasis sailing, and the last will be on the 11N Anthem. We have been talking about cruising pretty much nonstop since the new year came in. All have cruised before but all, but one is new to Royal. I am very lucky to still have a living grandparent who is mostly in her right mind. She begged to keep my sweet fur baby and I dropped her off today before work. This means I can repack my luggage perfectly. We already have our Lyft scheduled and flights have been going out on time. It is also close to 50 degrees outside, which mean we will leave with nice weather and probably come back to something horrible. The vintages were supposed to be leaving for Las Vegas on Friday, but half have come down with covid. My mother isn't sick, but her boyfriend fell, and she would rather not go any place now. Bff's mom wanted to go on my Grandeur cruise, but it has been sold out for a while in anything above interior and she needs a balcony. She is currently trying to plan something else. CP is having a "sale", but nothing is as cheap as I got it during black Friday.
  19. I have flown SWA on embarkment, it is always the first flight and never any problems. But it was solo, having children or other people can slow or alter the process. I always have to fly out after disembarkation. It works out fine. I did a back-to-back on Navigator this past Sept and embarkment and disembarkment were a mess. It was hurricane season, and we were avoiding one, so ports changed and so did check-in times.
  20. I would suggest no earlier than 12pm. The port is about a good hour away from MCO, Orlando's airport. Disembarkation will begin around 7:15am for those who want to self-depart. If you need help with your bags, the earliest might be 7:45. But all of this is based on the ship getting in on time and clearing customs. My experience with MCO is it is always busy, even more so if you check luggage, so you will need between 2-3hrs.
  21. You can go to dollar tree or something and get a reusable cup made for coffee.
  22. Since the coffee makers are standardize across the fleet. I will say there is no milk frother and the capsules from Lavazza are like the Keurig kind. So K cup style or nothing basically.
  23. If you have seen a Freestyle machine at any fast-food restaurant, theme park, etc. it will be the same thing.
  24. I believe it will be open from maybe 11-3ish depending on when departure is.
  25. I don't under what it being 2023 has to do with people's excitement, consternation or whatever feelings over lobster. Until we have monkey robot butlers or something else ridiculously technological. People can be whatever emotion over lobs Tah!!
