I don't understand your question. If you booked a check in time that's all you are required to do. You can't book a boarding time as boarding depends on each cruise. Sometimes everyone is off before 10am and they start boarding immediately and others you can have a 10:30 check in and not board until after 11am. The check in is the wellness check.

But also Batman suggesting getting luggage this late in the game is why you need to check his underwear situation. That sounds so bad when I read it back.

So I noticed everyone replied about the suite lounge but if you are also asking about the Diamond lounge you get access to, then yes every drink you order counts against your vouchers. There is no more happy hour in the diamond lounge.......except for snacks.

@Traveling Mike Yes they have changed it a bit. Since JR is an a la carte, you get the credit but can only visit it once a day. On my last sailing they had a clipboard that kept track of the rooms/guest with UDP and would cross you off for that day. But if you can get a reservation, you can still visit multiple places, but most people won't be able to get much but one lunch and one dinner.

I am surprising them with it. They went back and forth about drink packages and then they all, minus the bff, said what they really wanted was just bottled water. But of course, paying $30+ for water when they go to Costco/Sam's club meant they all baulked at the price. I was just going to make sure they knew I paid for it because if/when they cruised again, and it wasn't in the room they would make all sorts of complaints.

There is no difference between when you pay or have the UDP. The only difference is when the dinners/lunches can be booked. To get the discounted rate you trade the ability to book beforehand. So, keep in mind that it is one dinner, and lunch on all days. All restaurants are open on seas days but places like JR, portside BBQ and Playmakers are often open on port days as well. You don't need a reservation for those places, and they are included in the UDP.

I have already decided that the long train ride will have to be the place where everything is discussed. They need to see the seriousness of my face and the conviction in my eyes.

The knots are amazing. I had GK for lunch on Freedom in April and I asked for lunch portions of everything, and the Uncle's Alfredo was so good. I too am a picky eater but when I travel, I endeavor to try new things. On a cruise ship it is easy because I can just order something I know I like to replace it.

Yes. The only package where you cannot get bottled water is the soda package.

I sailed on Halloween in 2021. They had a Halloween party and the ship was very decorated. Since it was still early in the restart, the offerings were slim but there was candy and cupcakes. People and a lot of the crew were dressed in costumes. I myself was a witch but also Halloween was embarkation day, so I would imagine it will be better if this is a full day.

@OCSC MikeAt GK I liked the calamari and polenta app, the garlic knots they give you as complimentary bread. The meatball Gigante, which they made smaller for me on Freedom because I was solo. The chicken parm and uncles Alfredo were really good and of course the pannacotta. I think GK is on Wonder, and I have another Freedom sailing in 2024 so I might try the pizza again. We had the mixed mushroom on Odyssey in 2022 and it was bad. But it was literally the first US sailing after the summer in the Med and the ingredients were off in all the food venues.

So, even more tomfoolery. I spoke to the blind gent an hour ago. My mother was not correct in her assessment. He is legit blind. He won't be able to read the menus, he needs to be helped to and from his stateroom and he is bringing three bags because she didn't tell him what we need to wear. I already booked him assistance for the airport, but I thought he would be able to wonder around the ship. He said he cannot read or navigate the ship at all. He does have a device that does the reading, etc. but he is afraid to fly with it as it cost thousands of dollars. He said my mother said he didn't need to worry about it because my brother and I would help. I was not told any of this. I would have planned much better, maybe got an accessible room. I do plan to fill out the form so that they know a blind person is in that room, but I would have preferred if he had in room assistance and was at least on the same floor as us. Why they waited until less than 30 days for all of this is crazy.
