  1. It's not so much about "venues" as it is about the ships' superstructures. Both the Voyager and Freedom Class ships have steel superstructures that rather obstruct the views from the aft cabins. I have booked aft cabins on both Voyager and Freedom Class ships and I still enjoy the extra balcony space but the Vision and Radiance class ships do not have such superstructure obstructions.
  2. Wow. 1 ride on North Star. Pretty stingy.
  3. The Coco Beach Club hasn’t opened yet. I think it is due to open either this month or next, which means it will probably open in Feb or March ! Nobody really knows what it includes yet since it hasn’t yet opened, but I think it will probably include everything except for alcohol... but if you have the Ultimate Beverage Package then your drinks WOULD be included. We have it booked for early Feb (if it’s open by then !). I’m guessing there will be a nic(er) restaurant and some loungers. Maybe some water floaties and a kayak or 2. Not sure what else... I’m hoping they will have a REAL fire grill since it’s on land.
  4. You are too kind. Thanks for the feedback.
  5. UGH. Not good at all. The tour operator should have known about this...
  6. Wow...identical, simultaneous posts !!! Great minds....
  7. We almost always bring a gift for our cabin attendant. It doesn't have to be much...just the thought. The thing to keep in mind is that they have very little room in their stateroom so whatever you decide on...smaller is better. Of course, cash is King...and we always tip in cash, but I try and bring something else, in addition to the money. It's harder when you do not know whether you will have a female or male attendant. Of course, there are plenty of stateroom attendants who do not even celebrate Christmas. ...but something like holiday candy is pretty safe.
  8. LOL. Joyce said the same thing about him (that he is very handsome).
  9. You never need your passport on an excursion. You may be required to provide "other" identification (in addition to your seapass. Driver's license is the easiest to take, IMO) but you never NEED to take your passport out of the safe. Many disagree....it's very divided here...so while some WILL take their passports, you do not NEED to take your passport.
  10. Yes, I think Reyno and Izzy have benefited from the fact that they were Suite Concierges before becoming Genies.
  11. Eric, I am so proud of you. You have done an EXCELLENT job of maximizing your booking. $7 upgrade to a balcony. That's unbelievable ! What a GREAT upgrade. ...and you were able to keep your OBC. You will not be sorry until you realize that your wife will now insist on at least a balcony room from now on..... I was just on Brilliance a few days ago and I can tell you, she is in great shape. She is a very elegant class of ship. With no holidays and the kids in school you should have a very nice passenger composition. Only a few days until you board. This will be the longest 5 days you've ever spent and the 5 days on the ship will be the fastest ! If you think that you may not get back to Grand Cayman again I strongly suggest that you consider going to Sting Ray City. It can be a bit busy there but it's a great excursion and one that I would feel comfortable doing with a third party if you don't want to book it through RCI. If you're not a diver, the sting rays is kinda the "must do" of GC.
  12. I'm no geologist but I thought there were pretty obvious "signs" when eruptions are imminent. How could this possibly have taken everyone by such a surprise ?
  13. How did your wife fall ? So sorry that it happened but am glad that you didn't have to leave the ship.
  14. I heard on the news this morning (not that I believe much of what I hear in the news on television, anymore) that there were no survivors ON the island. It didn't say anything about folks who may have been in a boat nearby. I sure hope this is wrong information. So very sad and an also fascinating at the same time. Mother nature is still in control !!
  15. I so enjoyed your blog. It sounds like your girls' trip was a great idea. I'm glad it worked out. If it's of any consequence at ALL, Dan and I are already booked on the 6 December 2020 Oasis....hint, hint....
  16. Yes, Sabrina is right ! Izzy has incredible reviews. That means you WOULD have had Joyce (Izzy is taking her schedule)...you couldn't have lost, either way !
  17. Sorry to hear that your Thanksgiving dinner disappointed. I have found it to be a complete disaster. Maybe they will up their game for Thanksgiving but it seems to be going from bad to worse.
