  1. Visiting Bermuda for the first time. Looking on the map trying to figure out options.

Looks like Hamilton is aways away from the dock. Different zones and busses to take and have to have exact change or get tokens?

The ferry, does it take you right to Hamilton or to Horseshoe Bay? Looks like Royal excursions are pricey and don't give us the flexibility we like when exploring.

Leaving in 23 days so hoping to get some plans made.

  2. How hard it is to get an Uber to go from LGA or JFK over to the Newark area for a hotel? Hotels are about $75-100/cheaper a night and we sail out of Bayonne so have to be in that area the next day.

Debating on taking a Uber flight from the airport to Bayonne area when we land to get that long drive overwith.....just wondering if there is any problem getting a Uber or lyft to go that far..looks like about a 90 minute drive or so depending on traffic??!

  3. Interesting......i hate to book if prices are high right now...but they don't show you seats/cabins sold like a cruise or airline so a little harder to know when to pull the trigger!

Says they have a sale coming up starting Sept 3-7 so going to chance to wait till then I think and hopefully make it a little better...it's almost as much as my flight from Canada to Orlando return...doesn't seem right.

I think you can still make it if you self disembark.  In my experience we have always cleared customs before 7:30am.

That's the plan....cause 12 hours in NYC is going to cost a lot with that much time to kill.......flying Jet Blue so hoping its not too far from the drop off area to  Terminal 5.

  5. Looking forward to my first cruise to Bermuda..and am looking forward to staying there overnight. I think its great way to explore more. Mine is a 5 nigther in Oct....I think there is  a 5 night out of Baltimore that stays actually  less time.....it only gets into port at 1:30pm and leaves 12:30 the next day.

I'll take 2 full, days and a night there no issues.

As for weather, i thought October the weather was nice in Bermuda..outside of a hurricane but that is true anywhere

  6. I agree that that show has changed., I couldn't believe it was an afternoon show on our last cruise on Freedom. I want to say it wasn't even on our Liberty cruise, but that was a short 3 day cruise. And on our cruise before that, it was not very well attended or that well done at all.

We brought 2 new couples to cruising  on  Freedom and had talked about how much fun and crazy the Love and Marriage show can be. Was disappointed to miss it, as afternoon on a cruise in the south during wintertime, is NOT when i want to be in the theater for a show.

That being said, the CD makes a  big difference when it comes to that type of thing for sure. After having Marc "Bing Bong" CD for my first 4 or 5 cruises, i was spoiled as he is everywhere, all the time with lots going on and energy.

  7. Kids should have to swim and play in kids pools.....pretty simple and easy solution.

We wonder every cruise, and we have done a few, why the cruise lines don't enforce pool rules and/or make kids stat in the kids pool areas.  Often  the kids  area was dead and empty on our Freedom cruise..they were all in the main pools and hotubs., I joked we should have taken over that area, but I am sure Royal would be quick to kick us out if that happened.
