@Curt From Canada I believe it was you, that started that graph for GTY room assignments? Any chance you could/would want to do one for getting Royal Up bids accepted/denied? Id be interested to see that data. Im well aware the data isnt consistent and is specific to each sailing....but I still think it would give an overall picture that would be interesting? Anyone agree? Just me?

The moment I step into that ship....instant happy and looking for that first drink in hand. Also....staring out into the ocean, at night, with the moon reflecting on the surface, enjoying those tropical breezes....nothing like it.

I think @Matt refers to this as "the double digits dance" That 99 mark is magical. For me, it starts getting REAL at 49.

Twice, now, @monctonguy has referenced/quoted me, so I feel the need to say SOMETHING. I stand by everything I have said. Im not worried about this virus. Im going to go on about my life as I always have.... I control what I can, and worry about nothing I cant control. Hell, I barely worry about things I CAN control. Worrying doesnt solve problems...it creates them. Saying people should be more concerned about things they are more likely to die from isnt trivializing corona virus. I 100% believe people should be MORE concerned with other aspects of their health and everyday life than corona virus. Until the likelihood, the numbers of deaths, illnesses and avoidable accidents from the things society is blatantly "flippant" about come close to comparing....that belief wont change. Would my level of concern be different if the epicenter was in the US? Well hell yes it would, just like i care more about a bowling ball over my head than one on the ground....but my opinion and ideas about this are based in fact, not hypothetical, and definitely not in speculation. ....with that, Im done talking about it. Bowing out.....Happy cruising.

@monctonguy I cant figure out your stance. Are you saying the virus, itself, is a big deal and should be worried about.......or the effects of the way its being handled (denying ships port, stock markets, etc...) are a big deal?

I thought the comment was more blanket than direct ...there have been a lot of numbers spewed here, there and everywhere. My own sister tried to tell me TODAY that 200 confirmed cases were in the U.S. till I hit her with the CDC website link. Let's all just caaaaaaaalm down and put the dukes down.

The intent of the post is VERY MUCH about Corona virus....and the level of concern placed on it.

Perhaps its a personality thing. I really dont worry about...well...much of anything. My wife would tell you its annoying as hell. ? I am what some would call a "health nut" to an extent (i eat very consciously, except on cruises, and workout everyday, even on cruises)...but I dont do these things out of worry. I just do them because its smart and healthy. I just view things from the standpoint of "Can I control it, to a point" and "what do statistics tell me the odds of it happening are". I have faith that things will happen as theyre meant to....and "live our best lives".

My answers - 1: Getting away from the daily grind, and doing it with a tropical backdrop (never done anything but a Caribbean itinerary). 2: South Pacific (Fiji, French Polynesia, etc....) on a any Quantum class ship.

Look, people...this is supposed to be our happy place, where we talk about things that make us happy. A sanctuary from the outside nonsense of the world. Our distraction from the chaos. I have participated in, and observed a lot of division of opinion and ideology on this board lately.....so I figured Id give us something to talk about that we can all agree on. WE LOVE CRUISING! So, im going to pose a couple questions to you..... 1. Whats your favorite thing about cruising? Relaxation, seeing parts of the world, the food, the party? 2. If you could go on a cruise, anywhere in the world, right now.....where would you go and on which ship? Kumbaya, Peace be with you, Woosah, Hakuna matata.......

I hope people cancel so my Royal Up bid gets accepted..... FACT I hope people cancel so theres less of a line at the Windjammer..... FACT Im going to enjoy my cruise..... FACT

....and still not nearly as deadly as MANY, MANY other things that arent mentioned ONE time on this board.

I just really dont understand......I wish people cared about CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE the way they care about some virus.....its exponentially more likely to kill you. Yet, the same people canceling cruises out of fear are lining up at McDonalds for a sack of burgers, killing themselves happily.

Rhapsody. WAY smaller amount of upgrade availability....so just the fact that its been pending for a couple weeks is doing nothing but setting me up for disappointment. lol My only sliver of hope, really, is that the hysteria and fear of, as @Ampurp85 calls it "beer virus", causes so many people to cancel cruises that I get that royal up! Fingers crossed.....
