  1. As fully vaccinated , you can only test up to TWO days before the cruise, so no earlier than Wednesday, but you can get rapid tests. ‘Unfortunately, because your child won’t be at least 14 days past their second vaccine when your cruise departs, Royal will NOT consider them to be vaccinated at all and they’ll have to follow the new unvaccinated protocols. They’ll have to get a PCR test, but can get it up to 3 days before the cruise, so as early as Tuesday. Also, your child will NOT be able to get off the ship at any ports unless they’re booked on one of Royal’s excursions at that port. They’ll also NOT be able to go into any areas of the ships that say they’re for “vaccinated only” not will they be able to go to any show times for “vaccinated only” as they won’t get a band that fully vaccinated people get when boarding.
  2. It apparently seems to depend on the person checking you in and on their mood that day as to whether they charge you or not at CVS’s in Orlando for travel testing if you’re truthful. I’ve talked to friends who were charged there after being honest and friends who weren’t charged when being honest at CVS. Across the board though, it seems like everyone who is honest at Walgreens and Centracare here is charged. Centracare is who charged my spouse $175 in October for the testing after he told the truth about why he needed it. It seems like it’s best to just say you’re being tested because somebody you were around tested positive if you don’t want another expense.
  3. My son and are going on a cruise on Mariner with friends from 12/13-18 and were originally going on this one without my spouse. He’s now decided to leave his current company next week and is starting at a new one in January. I just added him to our cabin today. My son and I have boarding times of Noon……Since we’re in a JS, We can actually board up to 1 hour earlier at 11am. My spouse checked-in today after I added him and his boarding time is 1:30. Will he be able to board with us at our earlier boarding time since we’re a family and all in the same JS? ALSO, I’m going to call Crown & Anchor to verify this ……. But me adding him today isn’t going to knock us out of the 4 points per night we’re supposed to get for booking the cruise before 9/30, correct? My son and I are supposed to get the 4 per night and my spouse would have got them even staying home since we’re all connected.
  4. Here in Orlando, FL , you have to tell Centracare, CVS, and Walgreens that you’re testing because you were “exposed” ….. if you tell them it’s for a trip, they’ll say insurance is cracking down and won’t cover it for vacations and they will make you pay $175 ….……………… it’s happened to friends of ours, and it happened to my spouse before our October cruise because I didn’t warn him not to say it was for a trip before he went for the test.
  5. AGAIN ……. neither of us have an email about this and we both also just checked our spam folders ……. No email anywhere ….. luckily I’m seeing it here or we’d still be clueless at this point …….. and I always check my email a few times a day
  6. I wonder how many families will be turned away at the port because they didn’t know this? I’m leaving on a cruise on December 18 with my 10 year old son and a friend with her 9 and 11 year old kids on 2 different reservations ……… neither of us received anything telling us it now had to be a PCR test for the kids!
  7. We got completely on the ship at by 1140, had the key lunch at noon, it was about 1pm by the time I went in person to make reservations and we got the times we wanted between 545 and 630 at latest …… we just had to swap the days we planned to eat at 2 restaurants because they were each full at our time the original day choice, but we didn’t mind the day swap of the 2. I’m sure if I had gone earlier instead of messing with the app, we wouldn’t have even had to do the swap, but again didn’t mind.
  8. This works SOMETIMES ……. last week on Odyssey it kept telling me I wasn’t connected to their Wi-Fi ….. I was, we had the Surf & Stream Package …. … after trying everything including a hard restart of my phone and the Royal app, I finally just went to a restaurant to make the reservations. Even the next day while at sea, the app still wouldn’t let me make show reservations because it said I wasn’t on their Wi-Fi and I had to call the reservation desk to get those made as well.
  9. that same staff may just just taken a massive poop and then not washed their hands before touching your card and then making your drink or serving you meal lol
  10. If you’re also going to Costa Maya, you’ll have a MUCH BETTER time doing the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins instead. It’s only 1 hour from the port and they have about 8 large and nice pyramids. Also, at Chacchoben, you can also touch and climb on the ruins……. You CANNOT do either at Chichen Itza and are only there for about 90 min of the 8 hours. Do yourself a favor and skip Chichen Itza in favor of Costa Maya’s Chacchoben Mayan Ruins!
  11. We just had the Key on Odyssey. We could get off the ship any time between 630 and 915am.
  12. You’re really not missing anything by Nassau being cancelled. We got off the ship there once and never again.
  13. On Oasis class ships you don’t have to wear masks on the Boardwalk or in the Central Park area, they’re both considered outside. Also, the minute you walk into the casino or any of the bars/clubs you can immediately remove you’re mask since they’re for vaccinated only. The same applies for any specialty restaurant, the mask can come off as soon as you walk in even though they are not vaccinated only. We were just on Symphony last month and and also just got off Odyssey yesterday …… that’s how it was on both ships. Last month on Symphony, we also ate in Izumi Sushi with 3 unvaccinated kids ages 9, 10, and 18 months.
  14. i just tried it again for the umpteenth time since yesterday ….. this time, refresh fixed it!!!! Thank you!!!! I guess the moral of the story for anybody else with the same problem is that eventually “refresh” will work!!! Thanks again, @Lovetocruise2002!!!
  15. I’ve tried refreshing and everything else including using the chrome browser on my iPad instead of safari. I also just tried on my laptop using both explorer and chrome browsers, and all I get it the screen in the screenshot above. I’ve been trying since yesterday afternoon. Maybe @Matt has an idea what I’m doing wrong or if there’s a system wide problem?
  16. Is anyone else not able to change their signature anymore? Every time I try to, I keep getting the screen below instead of seeing my signature and having the ability to change it like before …..
  17. I had the same problem and got the exact same message when trying to book “the key” for 2 people on the cruise we just came off. It turned out they only had 1 slot left so it wouldn’t let me book it for 2. I eventually got them to agree to open a second slot and then they were able to book both of us with the key. That’s most likely the reason for the problem you’re having as well …….. only 1 slot left for the package.
  18. In case you don’t know, as Diamond you each get 4 free drinks per day (up to $13 each). They can be used anytime and anywhere on the ship. Just be sure to tell the bartender you’re using a Diamond drink so you don’t get charged for it. There’s no more unlimited free drink happy hour in the Diamond Lounge. When you hit Diamond Plus, you’ll each go to 5 free drinks each per day. As far as the suite lounge, last month on Symphony they still had free beer and wine there from 11 to 11.
  19. Really? I had no idea ……. On all 11 of my cruises on Royal they’ve always kept ships time at what time it was in Florida where we left from. I guess I need to pay more attention from now on in case we ever get a captain who changes the time. Thanks for that info!
  20. EXACTLY …… If you go by island time or you’re using your cell phone as your clock and it auto changes itself to island time …… you’re very likely to miss the ship when it leaves ….. especially if the time on the island is earlier than the time on the ship ….. the ship will ALWAYS keep and use the time zone of the port you left from no matter what time it is where you are.
  21. Personally, I’d rather pay double or tripe the cost of an off site lot to park in the cruise terminal and not have to deal with waiting in lines to take a bus or van back to another lot.
