Reviving this thread to ask...what are average times for MDR breakfast?

We did the dePalm excursion through Royal. Free lunch & drinks. 3 water slides and free snorkel. Flamingos to see and take photos with. Nice beach but VERY rocky. Overall, it was really nice. My only complaint was it felt really small but that probably has a lot to do with the fact the island isn't all that big to begin with.

We got on her just under a month after this fire. I had no idea about it, but when we got off the ship, our shuttle was facing the burnt side and I wondered about the damage. Couldn't find this video at the time though; just news articles.

I'm sorry you had to put up with that. I hope you mentioned it to someone (guest services, shore excursions, in the survey) afterward. Once, my mom had a poor time on an excursion and she just kinda sighed and said it is what it is. We happened to be at guest services talking about something else on a different sailing and that excursion came up and the staff there (which happened to include the manager by complete chance) said we should tell someone on the ship because that's the only way they know if there are issues and if they need to pull their partnership. So now, even though we don't like complaining, we make sure to mention things if they're bad.

Nope! we have, on several occasions forgotten to cancel our reservations on nights we're either too busy or too tired to go for a sit-down dinner. I think they have a small grace period then, if you don't show up, they just put someone else there.

Oh wow...that's pretty bad. I wonder if they overbooked and were trying to make it work rather than turn people away

Keep in mind the Main Dining Room is only one of at least 4 different food venues on any ship. There's the buffet, the cafe, pizza (all free) and at least 1 specialty restaurant and room service (additional cost). There is food EVERYWHERE and at almost all times of day and it's all pretty good. Your partner will have PLENTY to eat.

I haven't had my card long enough to know how the card-specfic OBC works, but if the OBC is available to you via the Cruise Planner it will be available instantly on cancellation/ I do recommend calling to do the cancel and rebooking because the website could take a couple minutes to show it whereas the royal team has access to it right away.

We had the confiscated experience the one time we tried and decided not to try again. Took a basic 3 outlet, dollar tree one and it was removed from the carry-on. Obviously got it back at the end of the cruise but was glad I didn't have a pricey one. Seems like a YMMV situation. But USB hubs have gotten through on more occasions, from what I hear.

Yup. The "per bag" is a 7-night or longer deal where the bag is one price (looks like $35 now) for underwear, tees, swimwear, socks and the like

About the food....kinda feel like that was really their mistake. The same area of the site that talks about the specialty dining talks about all the included areas... also guessing they didn't realize she could cancel those reservations at any time... I kind of have to wonder if some or all of what the author got was chosen for them... I also went on to read why this person thought that cruising wasn't for them and... "The passengers I met love cruising. I didn't find any other first-timers." - 100% this had to do with the fact that this was the or one of the inagural sailings of Wonder. It's big and newsworthy and is FULL of fans wanting to be first. Not a good sample size to judge. Motion Sickness. - fine....i guess...there are plenty of people who cruise with high-sensitivity motion sickness but I won't be the one to tell her to suck it up. "I booked excursions for the ports, thinking I'd have time after to explore the destination....I was also hoping to see the stops at night, but we always departed before sundown." - all of this is pre-published literally on booking and should not have been a surprise. "I found myself seeking solitude in pockets like the adults-only area, but every day involved dealing with busy crowds." "I'm not much of a swimmer, athlete, or thrill-seeker. I don't have kids, so I'll admit that most of the activities on board didn't appeal to me." "Cruising solo proved to be more expensive and challenging than other solo vacations." - personal preference, true and sadly, true. No disagreements here - valid reasons cruising may not be for her. Or at least, this type of cruising. Overall..I think...she didn't know AT ALL what she was getting herself into and I put the blame for that on her and her company for not giving her more information

No worries! I am looking for feedback on either or both of the places and even just general suggestions on what other cruisers would prioritize. I'm flip-flopping like a dying fish over here! O.O what uh...what's so bad about the trolley

The cart doesn't save the current deal price for you to get at a later date. I tend to use it as a "wishlist" kind of thing, where I can keep track of what I'm interested in without having to bounce all over the site. Plus, if an item is in your cart, it will populate on your calendar so you can see what your day looks like before having to purchase.

Usually there are door hangers in your room that you fill out and put on the outside of your stateroom door by 3 AM. In there are all your options. You just check off what you want and how many. It's the left side of the door hanger, I believe. And if they aren't already in the room, you should be able to ask for them from your room attendant.

I agree, I believe by "bookings made between June 9 and June 15" they aren't referring to cruise bookings but rather cruise planner bookings. It is a confusing term since "booking" applies to both cruise fare and shore excursions/packages.

Sounds like it might be a roll of the dice. *Sigh* All of this is because they make changes to our port times that take FOREVER to reflect online....

Hi! I'm booking some excursions that kind of depend on other factors we can't nail down right now and I'm wondering if it's possible to change what time we go once onboard? I would imagine it should be fine and no extra cost but I've been wrong before... Has anyone done this that can shed some light?

I really enjoy when they remember things we liked. On Odyssey our AW knew we liked the cheese bread and the crunchy pita always made sure to fill our basket with it. I think it was also our AW that worked to get us a window seat one night we were a little off-schedule and got different seats

you know what..you are probably correct. My mom got mocktails but she tipped like 2 or 3 on them so that's probably why I got that price.

I think the only two ways room service are included are with a Grand Suite or higher on any class of ship. Here you can get complimentary room service from the room service menu and the MDR menu, In the Star Class suites on Oasis and Quantum class ships you can get room service from the above as well as ALL restaurants and food service places on board (from what the blogs show)

My Time Dining only applies to dinner seating - breakfast and lunch are open to all and usually only take place in one of the 2 or 3 dining rooms for a specified time frame.

If you are only planning to drink on sea days, the drink package won't be worth it for you unless you plan to get dangerously drunk. (which..please don't....) Definitely suggest buying a la carte and take advantage of the fact that you can bring 2 bottles of wine or champagne (per state room) on board.

Since we started cruising we always aim for dinner between 7 & 7:30 unless we are working around a show or event. For us, that's a good time to eat given that we usually have later lunches.
