Jellyfish in Cococay/Blue Lagoon
CrimsonCruiser replied to jaedam0820's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Man.... Why did I come to this thread... This August will be our first trip to pdcc and of course I'm excited to snorkel..... But so scared of the idea of being stung... I feel like I would be flailing so much trying to get away if I saw any that my fearful thrashing would be the exact reason I get bit/stung This sea safe.. Anyone with dark skin try it? I'm already looking extra ashy with the reef safe sunscreen.... Not trying to go full ghost if I can help it. -
They are about 1.7 inches wide and 5.5 inches tall. Basically 1/5 the width of standard printer paper and 1/2 the height.

What next after Icon 3?
CrimsonCruiser replied to ApexoftheSeas's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I also think it's about time for Royal to think about making another mid sized ship after Icon 3. and I think it would be cool if they emailed a survey to emerald and above c&A members (cruisers who are most likely to have been on several cruises and several classes of ships) and ask them what "new" thing they wish was on an older ship. Then they could use that feedback to see what regular cruisers like about the new mega ships and find out a way to get the vibe on a smaller ship. Like the 270 area is really great and could vibe nicely on a calm and quiet ship. -
Transportation to Universal
CrimsonCruiser replied to Canada Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Gonna start of by saying I sadly don't have any additional suggestions for you. I was going to suggest using Royal's transportation that you can book all in one like we did on our first cruise.... But that was in 2015 and after just checking the site I see that's no longer a thing they're doing. A shame because it was a great concept. They'd take you from port to hotel door. *Sigh* -
Suite check-in vs. Key check-in
CrimsonCruiser replied to Frank P's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
if you have a suite you get most of the benefits in one way or another that would come with the Key. (below are the Key benefits with what I think the equivalent suite benefit is under it in blue) Key Benefits: Priority access during The Key designated arrival time (to be communicated via email). Other benefits may apply at specific ports.* Suite priority Check in. shorter line, fast service, from gate to ship often in 10-15 minutes if you don't have the very first boarding time. Carry-on bag drop off with delivery to your stateroom. ** no equivalent for Suites below Star class Exclusive welcome lunch in the Main Dining Room featuring The Key signature menu.*** Coastal Kitchen is available to for lunch on boarding day, offers a full menu and is complimentary for guests staying in Access to the fast lane at onboard activities (activities vary by ship)and private time at the Flowrider. I think this really only applies to the flowrider and there are set times for this. while there is no suite equivalent below Star Class, you can generally got on the onboard activities with minimal wait. I think on Quantum class the worst offender are the bumper cars Priority departure at tender ports of call from ship-to-shore. Same for suites but tender ports seem to be less and less lately Dedicated seating at shows in the Main Theater, Aqua Theater, Studio B, and Two70.**** Same for suites VOOM® Surf & Stream 1 of Device high speed internet per person who purchases the package. 1 device voom per person staying in a grand suite or higher On debarkation day, enjoy an exclusive á la carte breakfast and choice departure. Suite lounge has the same offerings -
I am VERY introverted. being in the front for the cha cha slide (which I'm so good at) makes me embarrassed lmao

Venting...Customer Service/IT
CrimsonCruiser replied to Bruin Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I also say call up as the SIL. Just let SIL know you're doing it but otherwise..you're just trying to help, Also....it's ridiculous that you've had this much back and forth and craziness. It's insane how much a simple typo can break things. Back when I was applying for colleges, I guess at some point my first and last name got flipped on some documents on their end.....and despite no one I know of having the first name "smith" it took them MONTHS to realize the mistake and I ended up losing out on any scholarship money they all agreed I would have qualified for..... -
We would 1000% be spectators hahaha. I know my own limit for embarrassment and even diamond drinks aren't enough to make me shed that I can understand that. From the few clips I've seen (since it seems to be a [unspoken] rule not to record) it looks like it really leans into what craziness can people do when thrown in the heat of the moment? Lol

"Monstrosity" of the Seas
CrimsonCruiser replied to HeWhoWaits's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
" five times larger than the Titanic" I'm so sick of people comparing the new ships to the Titanic....EVERY modern cruise ship is significantly larger than the Titanic. I just checked and the Vision Class would be the closest in size, still coming in about 70 feet longer and 30,000 tonnes heavier... I think this only happens to "hold weight" because people never actually comprehend the ACTUAL size of the Titanic. If they realized how small it was, (to what we consider standard now) I think they would stop saying this. But I think people legit imagine Titanic to be the size of Freedom-class ships so then yeah...something 5 times larger is bonkers to picture. -
....oh my god you're right......I didn't notice.........but it's gone....those monsters....

Wiegand Lawsuit Dismissed
CrimsonCruiser replied to TXcruzer's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
In my opinion asking if Royal should have forseen this is asking if they have thought about every single dumb thing a human could possibly do and if they have a responsibility to create prevention for that....and I think the answer is no. At some point it becomes a risk to even allow people on a cruise ship. I mean...there's a place for someone to do dumb things literally EVERYWHERE. I can literally think of 20 right now. The area he was in had chest-high windows that are angled to prevent easy falling and also prevent a wind tunnel dragging people overboard. They did their part and created a safe viewing area. The fact that he turned it unsafe is not and should never be considered Royal's fault. And the fact that the family and these judges won't let this rest upsets me because it's prolonging the pain of everyone involved (not that I think the pain will ever truly go away for the family...but ....it could at least have the chance to fade) -
You can definitely take them on board but only one box so I would also suggest weighing how often you expect to drink them to see if it's worth it for you. If you'll finish them in 2 days of a 7 day...might be a good idea to bring a box on (since as Ampurp said there's no pepsi on Royal) but also get the soda package to offset when you run out or don't have a bottle of pepsi on your person

Star Trek Charter Cruise on Royal
CrimsonCruiser replied to Stvr California's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Was considering it til I saw that price tag O.O $2300 for an interior...on Mariner?! Unless Jean Luc Picard is tucking me in every night that seems excessively not worth it... -
but is it worth it lol I've put it on my list for the first time but....is it worth all the hype?

Hello again! I come seeking more recommendations. This time for easy to get to, not too expensive beaches in St. Maarten (that's not Maho) and St. Thomas. Bonus points if they have good snorkeling.

The bungalows in Labadee are such a great bang for the budget and I REALLY wish Cococay had something like it. This is our first trip at the new coco cay and we (also) booked the breezy bay beach bed after loving the bungalow experience in Labadee. but I do wish we had a bungalow with couch and table vs a bed that I anticipate will get covered in sand as we traverse the area.

After being (lovingly?) pestered by Royal (7 emails in 2 days) the mom went ahead and tossed our hat in the Royal Up ring Saturday. Fingers crossed all that marketing was because they weren't getting any bids and we win by default with our minimum bid.

I fell in LOVE with the truffle pasta in Coastal Kitchen and now desperately wish it was served shipwide Since I don't like chocolate I skew toward the Apple Blossom. It's delicious! (runners up are the key lime and no sugar added peach shortcake...when it's ACTUALLY a CAKE) FRENCH ONION SOUP!!!!!!!!!!! Ever since realizing it was a thing that could be done on ships I want Royal to do Kbbq. it's my "treat" on land and I'd love to get it on vacation

sugar free ice cream does exist in the MDR and it's usually what I end up getting (that or sherbet if they have it) and I can't taste a difference.

Entertainment reservations are open! Just booked ours and glad for it because so many of them conflicted with our selected my time dining reservation! Was able to snag good time for everything! also for planning help the show run times per a Jun 2023 cruise planner are: 1887 (the ice show) - 45 minutes Fine line (aqua show) - 45 minutes Grease (main theater) - 90 minutes Columbus (main theater) - 90 minutes

I was just logged in, checking on things for our upcoming cruise and noticed this new "Courtesy Holds" tab. I like it. It's rare for me to only need 24 hours if I'm contemplating (and we book with a TA anyway) but still...pretty cool I think.
