  1. I'm not implying that the change isn't proper and necessary, I'm just saying that the cruise was billed as a "Holy Land" cruise, which was the whole reason we booked it. It is now a "Mediterranean Cruise" (and a rather expensive one at that...but I digress) with new stops that have virtually no connection with the Holy Land whatsoever, and that we have absolutely no interest in. This was to be a "bucket list" cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday. I've read the terms and conditions and I know that Royal Caribbean is well within their rights to modify the itinerary, and I don't dispute that. I was just asking if anyone has had any experience with this kind of situation and if Royal Caribbean did anything beyond the "fine print" to resolve the situation, e.g., offer the same cruise in the future at a deep discount (assuming I'm physically able to take advantage of it, of course!). Thanks again for all your responses, even the snarky ones.
  2. I was just notified that Royal Caribbean has cancelled stops in Haifa and Jerusalem for for my upcoming "Holy Land" cruise due to the "escalating geopolitical situation in Israel". They've replaced these ports with Bodrum, Turkey and Rhodes, Greece. I have no interest in either of these alternate locations. The cruise was billed as a trip to the Holy Land, and that was what I wanted and expected to see. I called Royal Caribbean and was basically told that in a case like this, their only obligation is to provide alternate destinations, but I didn't really expect them to volunteer to joyfully give me a replacement date or a refund – that's just not the way they do business. I'm wondering if there's anyone who has had any experience with this kind of itinerary change, and if so, what, if any, recourse did you have? Thanks for your help.
  3. I’ve completed the online check-in for my upcoming Odyssey of the Seas cruise and have received my boarding passes. I was under the impression that I would also receive printable luggage tags at the same time, but as far as I can tell this isn’t the case. Can anyone enlighten me as to when and where I can expect to receive these tags? Thank you!
  4. We’re sailing to the Holy Land cruise aboard Odyssey in October, and since we’ll be doing shore excursions in several countries – Italy, Turkey, Greece & Israel – I’m wondering if my U.S. dollars will suffice for cash transactions in these various countries (assuming credit cards aren’t accepted) or will I need a supply of the local currencies. Also, are dollars acceptable at the gaming tables on board the ship?
  5. Will be traveling aboard the Odyssey in October and I must decide between Suite check-in and Key check-in. Does anyone have an opinion as to which is best, and if so why? Thanks for the help!
