  1. THIS! I'll extend to say try not to carry a balance on ANY credit card. If you must, find a 0% promo card, transfer the balance and pay as much as you can until the expiration of promo, then rinse and repeat with balance.
  2. Yes but I believe no two ships are the same with this 'policy' it's either allowed and some don't know or not allowed and some don't know LOL. I learned this AFTER two suites leaving bands in the stateroom. Last September I remembered and brought them home.
  3. I agree. I never imagined cruises being suspended through September, but here we are, one big player already did. However, I suspect that will be the end of it. I am not saying October 1st all cruises are sailing and at full capacity, but I can see things starting to phase in, like the various states are phasing re-opening. Luckily, cruise lines are stock piling cash, hopefully it's enough. They cannot cripple one hospitality industry while allowing people to enjoy rides at Disney.
  4. I didn't dig too deep but did a quick search test now. June & July returned nothing. August returned 14 cruises & September was 45 cruises. (On Carnival's website).
  5. Interestingly, I can book cruises for June on Carnival's site ... Edit: June didn't work but selecting June - September returned cruises.
  6. I did and sure enough, good old Royal Caribbean, we can even book cruises for July! ? Edit: July returns only China cruises. August & September seem like normal search results.
  7. Edit, Edit: Never mind, It's all sailings in August & September except Alaska. Don't show something to your RN wife after her exhausting shift, she'll confuse the heck outta ya!
  8. Pessimistic me says no, optimistic me is waiting and seeing, anything can happen. Can you Lift & Shift a cancelled cruise?
  9. Same, maybe their fingers are crossed that Canada / U.S. boarders will open back up before September?
  10. I'll be optimistic for you! Hey it's worth a shot, maybe get Karen on them :). That is interesting tactic, do you shift now just knowing or let it be cancelled, I'll have to check pricing.
  11. Well, guess we now know why NCL blacked out August and September bookings... @SpeedNoodles posted an article here: Link to thread
  12. Just saw the 'operations update' from NCL on Instagram and was about to post the screenshot I took (probably still will) in another thread. RCL and Carnival will soon follow with similar I'm sure.
  13. I agree, September is more realistic than August especially for the Oasis class ship, which this is out of NJ, with things slow to open and being hot spots who knows if Royal will bring her here. It's okay, I'll not be too upset, just roll with the punches as they say. I want it to be safe and fun vacation, not forced. :)
  14. @Ampurp85 I am a bit biased because I have a final payment due Monday that my agent will process this week for September 20th, 2020 sailing. I'm not overly optimistic about it sailing but I'll make payment and wait. However, I've already worked on the plan if it's cancelled.
  15. I'll admit, I like the approach of putting a pause on bookings until things start to make sense - or even better - extend final payment dates to 30 days (or less).
  16. Hey, I'll be positive, maybe as part of a social distancing measures they have blocked the "middle seat" (inside cabins) and therefore ran out of balcony cabins and the guarantees get an upgrade! :)
  17. Not to be the negative person as I too have a sailing in September, but that would mean EVERY NCL cruise is at max capacity across the fleet. To be positive, maybe they are halting new bookings but not cancelling current sailings, yet.
  18. I would imagine the percentage would also need to be determined by ships capacity at double occupancy or max; 60% at double is close to 50% at max. An example of Oasis using these numbers: https://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/fact-sheet/21/oasis-of-the-seas/ 5606 at double capacity: 60% = 3363 6699 total: 50% = 3349.50 Of course this is only one example.
  19. Same. We bring a few extra to room which helps the late night thirst, AM medicine, etc. For us it's no hassle as before drink packages we'd fill aluminum mugs from water provided at cafe. No need to pay for water twice.
  20. That's not a bad idea and a direction they should be taking anyway, with or without COVID-19. This is where I'd hand the waiter my card, if easily available, but mainly because they are handing a bunch at once and need to keep track of them all, lessen the confusion; I have to wait regardless. Last cruise I did pen my initials on the back to make it easier to confirm. That's actually true - I in no way think they are an 'extra level of safety' and should have mentioned that. I just find it convenient to not have to carry my seapass card while at the pool, worrying about putting it away safely and all that. Jump out of hot tub, grab drink at bar, jump back into hot tub. :)
  21. Sailed in the Grand Suite on Anthem 3 times and received WOW bands as part of the perk. From this point forward, perk or not, I'll always *pay for a WOW band. The biggest pro is the pool, no need to worry about your card. You have your drink package & door key right on your wrist. *some ships will allow you to use your wrist band from a previous cruise, I've never had a chance to do it because A) got them as a perk and B) just learned recently. It's hit or miss but if they didn't allow me to re-use, I'd gladly pay the fee per band.
  22. I don't get crazy into planning with cruises honestly where I'd need something complex, a simple Google Doc or Google Sheet for notes, web links, etc does the trick. Actually, the same is true for land vacations. The pro is they are easily shareable with whomever and accessible across all devices, work PCs, various laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, etc.
  23. Yes! Unless it's substantial I'm not bothering my agent. She's busy working her tail off and has received zero commission in 3 months and with all the shifting, cancellations, etc, it could be a year before steady stream of income returns. As someone else said in another thread, might be time for us to get them gifts. ?
  24. I'll go out on a limb and say the executives have a pretty good idea of the path forward. I'd wager they are working towards a re-launch in August or towards the next announcement of cancellations. If I had to guess, the latter. FYI: I only saw the original post which doesn't seem authentic (but hey could be), Matt hid them before I could see.
  25. This is what I'm planning while the wife is at the spa, then enjoy the afternoon on the ship.
