  1. At 90 minutes to Cape Liberty that would be a lot of clicking! However, it does make me sad thinking of my last actual drive there. It was a bunch of friends and we rented a shuttle that a friend got for such a great deal. All the girls were singing and drinking white claws lol ... Fun start to the vacation.
  2. A "the points guy" article I was reading just before seeing your post. Has less hateful reddit comments :). https://thepointsguy.com/news/covid-outbreak-hurtigruten-norway/amp/
  3. While the above suggestions are excellent, if I was in your position (assuming no travel agent) next call would be to credit card. You tried to call, you waited patiently, game over.
  4. I freeze it in aluminum foil and reheat in oven on pizza stone, that's my favorite leftover pizza.
  5. OMG! It's 2AM, you've enjoyed that drink package a little too much, headed back to the room and the light shines from down the promenade ... SORRENTO'S! One entire pie please for me and my friends ... But no one is behind you. ?
  6. Just saw the post on Instagram ... I'm not surprised and agree with @SteveinSC, RC will follow.
  7. I started looking at the questions from Matt's blog but they were so overwhelming and gave up half way into it. To ask the general public such questions that the executives need to answer (glad Royal & NCL have teamed up with the panel) is crazy. I thought they were just curious what we (the public) thought.
  8. With day 1 indulging, I wasn't in the frame of mind to comprehend 100%. Heck the first time I didn't even have a clear view of the TV. Luckily I've been on enough cruises to know the drill (pun intended) and did watch it again waiting for the wife to get ready the next day. Second time it was the same video and had it memorized at that point. I like the video approach but always felt the direct instructions were better. Direct and to the point. I agree, no matter what people aren't going to pay attention.
  9. That was my thinking, maybe ask a few questions. I think it'll know if you watched the video or not.
  10. Brings up the point ... Will people watch and pay attention? Is it just a CYA for Royal Caribbean at this point? How many will just let the video play in the background so they can mark complete? All they'll know is (if they remember) where their muster station is located. Honestly, the interactive video we watched on last two cruises ... I wasn't even paying attention.
  11. Yep same. Maybe I'll even absorb something since I'll still be sober-ish. LOL
  12. I use an app too, "Podcasts" which is Google's Podcast app, prior I was using Play Music. It does seem the first two episodes are missing the embedded media. Picture two, you can see an example of what it should look like vs the first picture which doesn't have the `<div>` statement for the media.
  13. We don't even think about the cat when booking a trip. Luckily the MIL is retired and close by, she checks on him. (Sorry no human kids and couldn't resist ?)
  14. Oh, l like that! There goes the budget again! I'd probably go cement and a custom design unless a shell was close enough and that good of a price... Guess you've convinced me to at least pick up the phone and get the ball rolling, even if it's for next spring.
  15. Yes! Hopefully those who aren't tech savvy can either figure out the TV or just go through it with crew directly at the Muster Station.
  16. I believe it! Whether it was a prefabbed fiberglass thing (if there is one close to my vision) or concrete that's another concern, can I get someone (GOOD) to do the labor. Maybe best bet is to take @Kathleen's advice and look towards the Spring. Get some quotes over the winter months and put down a deposit when contractors are slow due to near impossible installing conditions (I am in NY).
  17. Going to take a ride to NJ Beach (Wildwood) for a short break (5 nights) next weekend (Friday - Wednesday). My wife & her family co-own a cabin in the NY Adirondacks, think we will head up there for a few nights around labor day. Other than that - try and carry a few vacation days over next year and use a few to finally clean out the garage.
  18. Good friend is trying to get me to go ... Got to be on the next 'guys trip' idea list for sure!
  19. We started the pool conversation, had the hot tub last year but decided maybe not for us (rather cool down vs heat up). The conversation started with "hey a simple round pool and big old deck around it could be neat and affordable" but is slowly headed to -- "well, with no kids and no plans for kids and just wanting a pool to sit in, maybe a small 10x20 cocktail in-ground with an area big enough to put loungers in the pool (think that two inch of water on some of the Anthem / Oasis / pools). Our backyard is flat, it's just asking for it ... I fear it's getting too late in the season to start a pool project like that and get to enjoy it this summer.
  20. Right? It's like those weddings where they stop bar service at dinner because they only get 4 hours of bar and 5 hours of party... WHY! Cut the last hour out, no one stays the entire time!
  21. This just popped into my head...I know sometimes it's difficult to leave the bed when your stomach feels upside down, but what helps my wife (she is known to get sick day one as she adjusts) is to get to mid-ship & lower deck. One example was the Schooner Bar on Explorer, it was a great place for her to have a ginger ale and relax a bit and she started to feel better; mind you that was after being in bed for a few hours having taken the meds, ate toast, etc, etc.
  22. But there is a beverage package to help settle the stomach :)
  23. It honestly depends. We sailed Explorer to Caribbean in March and don't recall anything major. We sailed NCL Gem out of NYC on 1/11/2011 and a blizzard was coming in, WOW that ship was rocking, but we survived. Anthem is a big ship I wouldn't worry too much about it. When did your friend sail? Was it one of the times the captain took her through a major storm that hit all the news stations? Because that's rare. Now with James Van Fleet monitoring all weather all the time, you'll be fine. I also have never gotten sea sick, and been in some rough seas ... although I keep trying to pass that one time I drank too much rum punch off as sea sickness to my wife... she isn't buying it . ?
  24. I'm torn because I could see sailings not happening or very limited until the spring season begins (late March / April). However, my random opinion, I wouldn't use themed cruises as a guide to what the industry will be doing. They want to fill the ship, they want it to be fun and safe for everyone and know even if ships are sailing first quarter it'll be limited capacity, lots of regulations, and only crazy cruise nuts like us will want to sail. A lot of variables, I think it was smart for them to do their own L&S, personally.
