  1. There is a you tube video on 14611 but they don't look out to the side. It looks like a wall but personally I think I would like it. Sometimes those end cabins have bigger balconies. You can definitely see the pool deck also, great people watching.
  2. Funny I thought the same, I think not. I believe the punctuation is just off. I interpreted the aggressor alone has been debarked. At least I think so. The author was probably excited when they typed the message.
  3. In the scenario you present I would rent the cabana now, don't wait. It's a nice little home base. I think you will be happy you did. You can always give it up if you change your mind. It's a really nice beach and now that they open the ability for all to purchase they may sell out. We have rented them and enjoy the space. The prices have sky rocketed though so I would make sure everyone prefers this type of beach day. We went with friends & they rented the over water cabana well over 1,000.00 last year. They went to explore the Island, went zip lining etc. Maybe spent a total of 1.5 hours total at theirs, what a waste of money in my opinion doing it that way.
  4. Yes, thank you so much! You are amazing. I didn't realize you did that also. I appreciate it Sharla
  5. Hello my Royal Family! My family of mostly Vintages and a handful of others (not I ) are venturing onto the beautiful Mariner of the Seas this June. Can anyone recommend a car service type situation to transport the entire group and their luggage (8 nights its going to be a lot even though I'm doing my best to tame that) to transport them as a group (that's how they want it) to terminal 5 the morning of the sailing? Most are vintage, some are from Norway so it really needs to be affordable. Any and all suggestions, reviews and/or direction would be so appreciated. This is too important to leave to just an internet search, I would feel better if our community here was familiar with this outfit previously, thank you so much!
  6. We did flight option through the Royal cruise line, (air2sea) Florida to Bahamas, literally an hour flight. Air2sea only had flights day of and promised it would be no problem. Fast forward we were so delayed we almost missed dinner. (the late seating) They only held the ship because it was a ticket booked through the cruiseline. We missed the entire first day. I will NEVER book the same day of sailing ever again. It's not worth it, fly in a minimum of a day, maybe two thus ensuring a relaxing embarkation day.
  7. My votes; Late Like I'm excited for and happy about this change.
  8. I fell head over heels for Serenade. It was my first smaller ship as we gravitated to the Oasis and Quantum classes. It had an old school feel, just a bit of a slower pace yet there was always something going on. Her public spaces were beautiful, the only tiny downside which I ignored was the cigarette smoke sometimes escaping the casino. I would sail her again and again. I would book traditional dining though it appeared there was always a long line for MTD but it was Thanksgiving week so that might have been the reason. You will love her!
  9. @FionaMG and @smokeybandit. Wow! Thanks for the explanation. It is much clearer now. I really don't want to pay for something I don't have to. I appreciate the clarity!
  10. Okay please for the slower section, lol. We three are D+ I usually go ahead and purchase internet on the cruise planner before sailing for me, but 3 devices so we can all access when we need. If I continue to do this, can I visit the wifi desk or LA and be credited to our account for the free days? We are all three D+ but kiddo will be 17, I'm not sure if she even gets this perk. For those who are more familiar with this, would this be correct? Or better still what is the most cost saving way to do this. Thank you so much, I appreciate this, my wallet appreciates this is most importantly Cabash/Vintage Magnet appreciates it!! Have an amazing day!
  11. Yay, welcome to Florida! Happy cruise day, . Wishing for you and your family the most amazing week. Looking forward to all the adventures.
  12. This blows my mind. Don't get me wrong I know it makes sense for bigger parties but my little family of 3 ? Nope, but it's weird because while I would have loved trying a cabana I'm glad Royal can rake in these monies to help with their outstanding debt. Now I'm kicking myself for not jumping on these in the earlier days..... #Wow And this isn't even an Oasis or Quantum class sailing. Even DCL cabanas aren't this expensive and you get drinks included as well.
  13. This is a genius marketing tool to make more $$$. Before I found this site I had no idea what Royal Up was. Now any and all first timers can educate and avail themselves to the program. More bids gives Royal the ability to choose the "most advantageous for them" #winner for sure. It relieves me of watching for the email or going directly to the bidding site outside my reservation at 30 days. I'm at 109 days and still don't see it, I'll be curious when it pops up, 90 days maybe? I like that Royal is thinking outside the box. Good luck to everyone who submits bids!!
  14. As an aside I'm ingesting copious amounts of sodium in my meals while sailing, my water intake is to combat that to the best of my ability. I am not interested in salt added to my water. Same for soda, I don't want that extra sugar so I never drink it......I get plenty with my glass of wine at dinner lol! #Choices
  15. @CrimsonCruiser I couldn't agree more. I can't stand Dasani water. On a previous sailing I purchased a case of "spring water" and inside my cabin a case of Dasani awaited me. My cabin steward said that was correct, I differed as I don't enjoy the taste. Dasani is filtered with additives not spring water. I sent it back for a refund. I prefer the ships water taste for sure.
  16. This was booked day one of release, it was a sailing with friends. As time marched on we fully intended to cancel due to outstanding commitments. Fast forward, as we realize sailings for our family will be on hold for some time and final payment is around the corner, we decided to keep her. So, anyone else on this summer sailing?
  17. Gees, hawking the cruise planner, just a few offerings! Ugh, not even PDCC beach club admissions yet. I see the cabanas prices all over the island are up up up! $4,000 for the over water cabana? Thats another 7 night on a smaller class of ship. This gives me pause for the beach club admissions prices, I think they are waiting, my gut says these prices will be the highest we've ever witnessed for this area of real estate. Hopefully the adults area will be open by this sailing impacting the demand thus the pricing, ho hum 400 + days to go!
  18. @Lovetocruise2002 So glad I found your blog this a.m. Following and looking forward to your adventure! Life has been a roller coaster as of late, thank you so much for bringing us along!
  19. @ScottD wait, he sailed already. I missed that. Call the C&A line where there is a prompt to get your number, it should have been assigned after he sailed. Then if it isn't automatically given via the prompts, hit the prompt to speak to a rep. " Hey there, we sailed on ship, date and I can't seem to find my son's C&A number. May I have it to apply to our future sailings?" Please let us know, I usually have a good experience with these reps!
  20. @ScottD So not true, I would call again and speak to someone else. I set my daughter up with her very own number when she was young, even before our very first Royal sailing. ( She is 16 now with over 200 points of her own) Good Luck! I would call the C & A number listed on the website.
  21. On our Serenade sailing in November 2022 we received the towel which I requested before hand as well as the tote bag that was a huge surprise. I'm not sure why but I think it may have had something to do with the fact our cabin was changed very last minute (RUB) and the items as well as the LA had no idea where we were (LA words when I visited her desk looking for my waters) The items are super cute and the towel was thin, so it went well in the luggage, I had carry on only. The towel is very cool looking so I use it on the guest room bed for decoration. (Nautical/Beach style theme)
  22. I'm so happy I didn't miss your trip report. I stumbled on it this morning when I had some unexpected down time. I enjoyed your style and no nonsense truth. I read it straight through, Vintage Magnet/ Cabash kept asking me things I was like STOP, please I'm engaged in this experience. Loved all the photos, I lost my Symphony sailing in the shut down and have yet to sail her, the one that got away....sailing much less now as we are partnering with kiddo to pay for college, we don't want her saddled with debt straight away. I could feel your stress and frustration regarding that first cabin, OMG that was hard even to read about, I can't imagine the anger after not sleeping, I'm so glad the Angel from guest services showed up to rescue you! I have commented previously on our last several cruises after the shut down it seemed to me that cruising etiquette as well as respect for fellow humans has disintegrated some what, everywhere but more pronounced on limited spaces such as cruise ships, clearly evidenced by deck 11 shenanigans on steroids. I'm so happy you were able to move and enjoy the rest of the sailing. Random fact, born and raised in NJ before moving to Florida, worked in Shop Rite for 9 years, loved Shop Rite! Seriously, you met @WAAAYTOOO ? How cool is that!!! As far as the beach club at PDCC our issue was the massive amount of flying insects attacking our food. It was so disgusting, I thought the plants surrounding the dining area while pretty played a large part in attracting them. It was gross. Clean bathroom, not gross Thanks so much for bringing us along, I actually saw the @Ampurp85 cat that caught my attention, I gravitate to certain posters here and I'm so glad I did. I knew if she was commenting I'd be interested; and then I saw it was @asquared17 win win!!
  23. @Bowen I just placed your cabin number in my search engine and there is a video of the cabin you have booked. I loved the views, ocean view, boardwalk view and finally aqua show without the price of the aqua suites. When kiddo is off on her own and I start booking again, I'm so looking for that cabin. I could sit out there for hours.
  24. CK will be there next time, I personally would keep the cabin you have now. The idea of CK is always amazing, but sadly sometimes the experience is a bit lacking. A junior suite will have you vying for open times that may not suit you. Depending on how many top tier passengers are enjoying the space, it might not be worth it. Most pins are very sweet but I don't love it when Royal fails to limit the availability and I am stuck at a table I'm not enjoying at a time I wouldn't prefer. That cabin you have is a great cabin, feel good about keeping it!
  25. We were in 8694 on the Adventure of the Seas, the balcony was huge. I'm talking dining table for 4 and loungers as well. Some super structure but it didn't bother us you could see through and past it. Loved this deck. Can't comment on 9. You can't go wrong with this cabin.
