  1. Protocols have been tested and hardly satisfactory in a country with virtually no covid cases. It's proven that the virus cant be kept off the ship and at the moment it would be likely that if a ship does sail from the USA that it will come on board. What then quarantine to rooms and return home. Pointless.
  2. It can change in Australia because the virus has been all but wiped out here. Only cases are returned citizens in hotel quarantine and has been that way for a month. I went and watched a sporting event yesterday in a 40000 stadium, no social distancing needed, no restrictions, no masks. Domestically we have freedom but internationally we need the vaccine.
  3. Very true, anyone thinking cruising will be starting in the USA in the first half of next year are overly optimistic. Singapore averaging less than 20 cases a day of late.
  4. This could actually go either way. If this person ends up being the only one with the virus (apart from family of course) then procedures are working. However if a small outbreak then this is bad news for all. The message that needs to get out though is this person had the virus before getting on board and caught it in the generalwalking around petri dish of life.
  5. Exactly, an officer from my last cruise on Voyager told me that the plan was for 1 ship in the off season as a result of utilising Lelepa.
  6. The thing here is that there really is no virus other than those in enforced hotel quarantine on return from Overseas/. Winter wont be an issue as long as the philosophy stays the same and borders remain shut. However that is 6 months away. We have full stadiums at sporting events, virtually no limits to capacity at bars and restaurants and no need for masks and our economy is on a steep road to recovery.. In fact aside from general caution and some social distancing measures we are at a reasonable level of Freedom and normality. The problem we have is we cant move ahead until the world catches up. Our main issue for starting up cruising again is the crew. and where they will come from. Rumours are abound of Royal looking to start as soon as possible with some small off season domestic cruise because of the likelihood that Alaska is a write off for 21 but perception is still pretty negative from the outspoken ones in the public,
  7. Sure they have all opened and people have probably caught the virus there as a result. The consequences and perception of catching COVID at the mall is certainly different than on a cruise ship.
  8. We get your point but who is going to be cruising from these other countries. How can international travel involving the USA even be considered when there is no clear control of COVID. Over 200k cases again today, there is no chance of cruising until these numbers drop significantly. Freedom of movement unfortunately is this viruses biggest ally.
  9. Deluxe plus Zoom is cheaper than Deluxe by itself on one cruise because they are adding gratuities to deluxe but not zoom/deluxe.
  10. They can boycott all they like but where are they going to get passengers from. The USA is still the hub of the virus just as it has been for the last 6 months.
  11. Exactly, The US will have enough of their own.
  12. And its not a money making enterprise. The efficacy, on 50% first dose 100% 2nd is 90%. Pretty much the same as the others. I would trust an organisation doing it for the good of humanity over their bottom line.
  13. They are starting out of a foreign port next week. Singapore.
  14. They open and close as needed. Sofa during day and make up into bed at night.
  15. http://agent.royalcaribbean.se/?brandId=brand2&elementId=element2 Sorry my mistake though I did.
  16. http://agent.royalcaribbean.se/?brandId=brand2&elementId=element2 The link to the spreadsheet is on this page.
  17. Here is a link to the industry site. The spreadsheet can be accessed on this page.
  18. The spreadsheet for the Black Friday sale has all Indy sailings that were 8 days as 7 days.
  19. http://agent.royalcaribbean.se/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pre-Cruise-Planner-sale.pdf Had a look at the spreadsheet, most deluxe 40% off onboard price and refreshment 45%
  20. From the USA anyway. Still hope out there in other places.
  21. Quantum is hardly a test point when it comes to sailing from the USA. Yesterday Singapore 5 new cases none of which were locally transmitted (imported and in quarantine) USA 160K. Singapore residents only allowed. No Ports. There is no test of the system until Covid is detected on board.
  22. Pretty hard to find a country that want to risk their health system to allow people in. The travel advisory is at level 3 ( reconsider travel) or higher for all countries. I am not worried about my own health but everyone I come in contact with.
  23. Yes true, but the other factor here is the positives started from a group of Americans who travelled to Barbados to board. Why any country would allow this to happen is beyond me. 180K cases in one day and growing. Mask policy doesnt seem to be working the only thing that seems to is the suppression of movement and social interaction.
