Star of the Seas to Galveston???
BB1 replied to TX_Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
The stakes are really rising in Galveston, Carnival's and Norwegian's newest ships , and who knows what ship MSC will put in their new port. It will be interesting to see how things play out. -
Star of the Seas to Galveston???

Star to The Lone Star State. Kind of catchy. -
It will be interesting to see what ship they move to Galveston. Norwegian and Carnival are putting their newest, nicest ships in Galveston and MSC is building a new port. I would think it would be a nice ship.
-
This is not new. Yoy can book either Royal on Celebrity or Celebrity on Royal and you will get the same onboard booking bonus as you would get if you booked onboard the same line.
-
Just got off Allure. They still have the free bag of laundry.
-
Just a follow up. We just saw blades. I totally enjoyed the show. If you like the music, which I did, you will really like it.
-
We have seen Ice Games many times and I see they have a new show Blades. How is it?

Thanks for the info. It's very helpful. The flights I was looking at were actually post cruise. It's strange to me but a lot of the connections for American are in Charlotte and they schedule 30 minute layovers. I've never been brave enough to do that.
-
Thanks for the info about ATL. I was looking at some Delta flights that connect there. I didn't know it was so bad.
-
I have several cruises coming up, both out of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. What would be the earliest flights you would suggest out of Ft Lauderdale Airport for cruises returning to both ports. We can do walk off at both ports. Thank you.

Nuclear powered cruise ships being explored
BB1 replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
It seems to me that the logistics would dictate fissionable material being used all over. Sounds like a possibly bad idea unless you believe none of it would get in the hands of terrorists. That could be overly and dangerously optimistic. -
allure returns in 2026 All Things Galveston

Wow! If you were onboard just after 10, they've gotten incredibly fast at unloading. That's wonderful.- 965 replies

I certainly am not one who can predict the future but it is interesting that Carnival and Norwegian are both putting their newest and largest ships in Galveston. It would be reasonable to see an Icon ship there in the not too distant future. It would also be nice if they could put a Celebrity ship there too.
-
That's interesting. I've been told not to get any flights out of Miami before noon but even with the drive to FLL you can still get a noon flight coming from Miami? Is it that much quicker to check in and go through security at FLL? I had read that Miami's TSA will be getting some new facial recognition equipment. It's supposed to speed up security. I wonder if anyone knows any more. Thanks

Starlink Internet could be coming to Royal Caribbean
BB1 replied to CruisingSteve's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I didn't want to jinx myself so I waited until we got off Allure today. The internet worked perfectly all week. -
I pay the daily suite tips on my room account but I was wondering what people do as far as tipping the waiters and drink servers in Coastal Kitchen. Thanks.
-
Thanks. I don't think reserving an Uber affects the price. Galveston is exploding with cruises and I was worried about this happening.
-
Has anyone recently taken an Uber on Sunday morning from Allure to Bush airport? Did you have to wait long and how much was it? Thanks
-
Sounds wonderful. We'll be on the Apex again but maybe Beyond next time.
-
We were on Apex and really enjoyed it. My only issue with the retreat was that it was too crowded. Did they change anything on Beyond to help accommodate the number of people in the retreat. We could never find chairs in the shade so we would go to the solarium. This was fine since we thought the solarium was very nice but the retreat is still nicer.

allure returns in 2026 All Things Galveston
BB1 replied to Galveston Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I wasn't actually meaning a port to cruise from, I meant as a stop from Galveston. I think Corpus as a home port would be a tough sell, but maybe it could also be a stop. I'm thinking along the lines of Key West.- 965 replies

Crazy idea perhaps but maybe they could develop some new ports, how about South Padre Island for one?- 965 replies

Excellent information. Thank you very much. Just one other question, would Clear help at MCO? I already have TSA pre-check.
