  1. Just to clarify, the beach beds will have a waiter to bring drinks that we order? I did not see that listed when we reserved one for an upcoming sailing. We have DBP already.
  2. I am hoping for more relaxed protocols by the end of the year too. We will have to take our vacation $$ elsewhere if our daughter can't sail. I am all for the cruise line doing what it needs to do so it can get back to sailing and avoid another shutdown. So, if we need to make other plans we will and then get back to a ship when we can.
  3. I was just looking at twitter and the DCL Blog and apparently DeSantis stated private business can still require it when asked about Disney. This might be something that allows Royal to enforce vaccines if that is what they want to do. I am not an expert by any means. That is what I read on twitterland, take it for what its worth I guess ?
  4. I wish, my wife will still pack the kitchen sink! ?
  5. @twangster Thank you. I know these are more party cruises, but we are taking advantage of some leftover air fare from previously cancelled flights. A quick weekend getaway on a cruise is exactly what is needed.
  6. Just wondering if/when formal night is for the short weekend sailings? Thanks.
  7. Still not getting hyped about this until ships are actually sailing. CDC has dragged this out for so long, I have lost faith that they will do anything in a timely manner.
  8. 3 right now. Dec 2021 Oasis, Nov 2022 NCL Escape, April 2023 Anthem
  9. I expect lots and lots of pictures, live blogs, etc. from these sailings!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to live vicariously through all of you for the time being.
  10. "we’ve made the difficult decision to move Vision of the Seas to a new homeport in Bermuda" Not too sure how hard of a decision this was. Make money, or not make money??? Personally, I think its a step in the right direction. I know it is probably a pain/aggravation for those booked on her already though.
  11. This is something that I do. During the weekend or late during the evening I know sending an email is not going to get looked at for a day or so. Booking on my own then transferring eases my mind when it comes to getting the deal/cabin I want. Then after the booking is made the TA can deal with any issues that come up, which is greatly appreciated.
  12. @Zacharius and @Matt Thank you, I wasn't sure since the methods for the vaccines are different. Glad there isn't any kind of stipulation on one or the other.
  13. Does anyone know if there is a requirement on which covid vaccine is required for the Adventure of the Seas and potentially future sailings? Do we need the Pizer/Moderna 2 step vaccine or is the Johnson and Johnson 1 step satisfactory?
  14. This news makes me very happy. Please let it result in the CDC getting the stick out of their youknowwhats and get sailings going out of US ports.
  15. The more I think about it the more I am annoyed with "the news we've all been waiting for" click-bait. Only speaking my own thoughts here, but wth was she thinking? After the past year how in the world is Navigator going to LA the news we have been waiting for? I am actually more than annoyed. I know in the grand scheme of things that has gone on with covid, cruise vacations being cancelled for so long is not the worst that has happened. But, knowing you have a consumer base wanting to know when we will potentially get back to sailing this was a really bad idea. Not to mention the crew members who want to get back to work. I'm frustrated about all of it. Sorry for the rant/venting.
  16. well, OK then. Yay for LA? Could be a better announcement like a new ship going there like Carnival did with Panorama. I was hoping for test cruises so the ships can get sailing again.
  17. Thanks, I thought it was earlier. Thats what I get for skimming comments ?
  18. was the meeting canceled or has any news come out of the coffee chat?
  19. I was just talking with my wife about our Dec cruise. We are of the same mind. Masking for ages now, I had covid in Dec thankfully she and our daughter didn't. The vaccine seems to be helping with keeping numbers down. I am hoping by Dec the mask requirements will be loosened, but I am not holding my breath on it. I really hope the pool deck is a mask free zone when you are stationary in your deck chair or at a table. The pictures of the Singapore cruises with masks on while lounging at the pool does not look like a good time. I am also not counting on the cruise to sail. Until the testing phase has passed and cruise vacations start officially sailing again I am not going to get too excited for what ifs.
  20. I know this effects those who booked the inaugural sailing that was supposed to be here and that stinks for them. However, I am glad to see RC getting another ship sailing in the water sooner than later. I hope this will lead to a return to sailing for the US by early fall.
  21. I said the same thing about the Disney Dream. We had a bad experience with the room steward. They wanted us to leave the room so he could clean it. The buffet staff openly complained that we sat at a table that was recently cleaned. Other reasons I would have agreed. There did not seem to be many activities for adults to do. The pools were small and over run by children (Umm hello? Disney duh dude), the buffet closed really early and I wasn't sure where to get lunch. Also, I spent way too much time looking for a bar at times. However, this was my 1st cruse ever. No clue what I was doing lol. I wanted to drink, eat, and swim, watch a show. I did not look at the daily news letter to see what was going on. I disregarded it as junk. We were traveling with our 5yr old, I could have gone to the adult only area for a little bit but I didn't. The shows we did see where amazing and loved the pirate night. I had let the stuff that was negative block out the great times we did have on the sailing. We watched movies out at the pool, enjoyed the balcony, I found the bars, and loved the time spent at Castaway Cay (especially when we went back to the ship early and the pool deck was empty). I have since watched videos and read blogs on DCL. Yes the price is a lot more, but I think to sail with them every so often would not be a bad thing. I have yet to try Royal and I am so looking forward to it. Hoping we actually sail this Dec.
  22. @WAAAYTOOO @bobroo@twangster Thanks for the information, much appreciated
  23. Hello, Reaching out to those who might have done this activity at PDCC. I just saw this is available for our sailing later this year. Do we need to have SCUBA certification to do this? My wife and I have never SCUBAed (doubt that's a word), but this sounds like an activity we would enjoy. TIA
