  1. @wordell1 and @steverk I should have clarified what I was asking. I was thinking if the excursion cancelled during the sailing. For example, not going to Perfect Day due to high winds/rough waters would the cabana or whatever was booked be turned into OBC or back to the CC used to pay for it. The reason I am asking is that in my mind the money was spent already and having an OBC might not get spent. Might as well book another cruise with the OBC if that is allowed. Especially since we would most likely be booking another sailing while on board. Again just something I was thinking of and thought I would as the folks here.
  2. Hello, I was wondering how the money spent is refunded when or if a shore excursion is cancelled by Royal Caribbean during the cruise? Does it become onboard credit or go back to the card used for payment? A follow up to the above questions. If the money is made to be onboard credit, can that credit be used for a deposit at the cruise next desk?
  3. Dec 12 2021 we are sailing on the Oasis 7 night sailing due to lift and shift, had to cancel the Allure sailing May 6 2022 Independence of the seas for 3 nights Nov 19 2022 NCL Escape for Thanksgiving and daughter's birthday 7 night sailing
  4. cry, laugh at myself for crying, get laughed at for crying by my family, go and find a drink. In that order.
  5. I found this article an interesting read. I hope this means there is a path to a restart as planned. I think DeSantis truly wants cruising to restart sooner than later, but is also doing what he believes is best for the State of Florida. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Is Crafting A Cruise Line Exemption For His Vaccine Passport Ban @Matt has a mention in it as well.
  6. I had a typo there. Our daughter turns 12 a couple weeks before we sail. Giving us limited time for the vaccine process depending on which one we use.
  7. TL;DR We sail just a few weeks after our daughter turns 12. We are unsure if we should give her the vaccine. We have taken it, so what's the hold up? She is 11 soon 12, we are in our 40's. She is still growing and maturing. There is no long term data on the potential side-effects it could cause. There is news that children are potentially developing myocarditis after getting the shot. Link below. I am not 100% convinced the vaccine is the cause, but it is something to keep an eye on. We are sailing after the CSO expires in Nov. Has any word come out about vaccine requirements past the CSO expiration? I know this is super early days, just wondering if there was any information for me to review? Also, I know the simple answer is do not sail if we are uneasy giving her the vaccine. I just want to know more information before we have to make that decision. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2021/05/24/covid-vaccine-heart-problems-teens-young-adults-what-we-know/5241271001/
  8. Ohio has now, after CDC made more changes, that vaxed can ditch masks 100% (nursing homes still the exception I think). I tested this update over the weekend. My wife and I went to a Home Depot walked in talked to staff about purchases we were looking to make etc. No one mentioned needing masks. We decide to have lunch at Panera. We are ordering food and then while taking our order the cashier asks us if we have masks. I politely stated we are vaxed. She then says we still need to have masks on and walks to get, I am guessing the manager. I am not trying to be on a YouTube "worst customer" video so we went ahead and just left. I will say my wife was a little annoyed with me because she really likes one of the salads they have, whoops ?! I am wondering how businesses are going to do when June 2nd rolls around when everyone can ditch their masks here. Edited: I want to make sure that it is known the Panera cashier was not snotty or rude to us when asking about us having masks. I fully believe they were just doing their job and there is nothing wrong with that in my eyes.
  9. June 2nd Ohio is dropping all health and social mandates from the state. Business will be able to make the decision to require social distancing and masks if they choose to. I am very excited to start getting back to freaking normal. Governor DeWine also made a lottery out of it so to speak. https://www.whio.com/news/local/dewines-vax-a-million-drawing-under-fire/WY53U235WRF47CM7P73FEYKDOI/
  10. This is exactly what I needed. Thanks.
  11. Just to clarify, the beach beds will have a waiter to bring drinks that we order? I did not see that listed when we reserved one for an upcoming sailing. We have DBP already.
  12. I am hoping for more relaxed protocols by the end of the year too. We will have to take our vacation $$ elsewhere if our daughter can't sail. I am all for the cruise line doing what it needs to do so it can get back to sailing and avoid another shutdown. So, if we need to make other plans we will and then get back to a ship when we can.
  13. I was just looking at twitter and the DCL Blog and apparently DeSantis stated private business can still require it when asked about Disney. This might be something that allows Royal to enforce vaccines if that is what they want to do. I am not an expert by any means. That is what I read on twitterland, take it for what its worth I guess ?
  14. I wish, my wife will still pack the kitchen sink! ?
  15. @twangster Thank you. I know these are more party cruises, but we are taking advantage of some leftover air fare from previously cancelled flights. A quick weekend getaway on a cruise is exactly what is needed.
  16. Just wondering if/when formal night is for the short weekend sailings? Thanks.
  17. Still not getting hyped about this until ships are actually sailing. CDC has dragged this out for so long, I have lost faith that they will do anything in a timely manner.
  18. 3 right now. Dec 2021 Oasis, Nov 2022 NCL Escape, April 2023 Anthem
  19. I expect lots and lots of pictures, live blogs, etc. from these sailings!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to live vicariously through all of you for the time being.
  20. "we’ve made the difficult decision to move Vision of the Seas to a new homeport in Bermuda" Not too sure how hard of a decision this was. Make money, or not make money??? Personally, I think its a step in the right direction. I know it is probably a pain/aggravation for those booked on her already though.
  21. This is something that I do. During the weekend or late during the evening I know sending an email is not going to get looked at for a day or so. Booking on my own then transferring eases my mind when it comes to getting the deal/cabin I want. Then after the booking is made the TA can deal with any issues that come up, which is greatly appreciated.
  22. @Zacharius and @Matt Thank you, I wasn't sure since the methods for the vaccines are different. Glad there isn't any kind of stipulation on one or the other.
  23. Does anyone know if there is a requirement on which covid vaccine is required for the Adventure of the Seas and potentially future sailings? Do we need the Pizer/Moderna 2 step vaccine or is the Johnson and Johnson 1 step satisfactory?
