  1. We search for a table before getting food, sometimes its so bad, that someone will sit at the table just as others are leaving to secure a table and then wait for RC staff to clean the table. One of us will wait at the table, while others get there food, not pretty but effective.
  2. I did check w/ Royal about the Air / Sea flights and they were very competitive with what I was finding on-line the only difference was they were' not showing early morning flights only evening one, but I think I'll look at one-way flights and changing planes and we'll see what happens, Thanks all for the ideas, much appreciated as always. Overall, its going to be an expensive flight.
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions. We just booked at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. A King suite for $400 / night for March 20 - 22 2020 for the 4 of us
  4. Our last 4 cruises were out of FL over spring break (end of March) the last 4 yrs on Freedom, Harmony, Oasis, and Symphony and we were paying around $700 - 800 pp
  5. The prices I mentioned were per person and NOT a total for the 4 of us.
  6. thanks for the reply Sweety! I forget about Southwest. I just checked and they are around $1,200 RT. We're hoping to leave on a Friday (Mar 20), 2 nights in San Juan. Cruise is from Mar 22 - 29 (Sun - Sun).
  7. I know that flights to San Juan are expensive, but wondering how expensive. We're traveling during spring break Mar 2020 on Freedom (family of 4). I'm starting to look at flights out of Minneapolis / St. Paul (MSP) and options are really limited. Delta is offering $1,700 main cabin seats (this is 6 months out) and this isn't even direct, these flights have 1 or 2 stops. I usually book early, but I'm wondering if I should wait another month or 2 or just bite the bullet. Spirit is also high around $1,000, but we won't fly them due personal issues w/ them. Any advice would be appreciated. Delta is our preferred airline.
  8. I was reviewing the Sheraton Old San Juan hotel. It looks like its within walking distance to the cruise pier? Is this walkable to the FOTS terminal and how long would it take, since we would be traveling with 2 kids and 4 suitcases.
  9. Thanks for all the replies. My wife was on the Freedom of the Seas facebook group page and someone mentioned that hotel shuttles are not allowed on the island of San Juan. Any truth to this. Its facebook, so I don't believe much.
  10. Hi All, Looking for hotel recommendations for staying in Old San Juan. We're looking for a hotel that also offers transfer from airport to hotel and also hotel to port. We're traveling in March 2020 on Freedom of the Seas, going to A,B,C islands on a 7 night Southern cruise. There are 2 kids travelling w/ us, so a pool is a must. We're staying 2 nights as-well.
  11. Harmony is still my favorite ship, enjoy the cruise. Looking forward to seeing the pictures
  12. Love the itinerary as well. I would love Coco Cay, Labadee, and Key West on a 7 night, but I've never seen it
  13. One more question for you or anyone else for that matter. When we were on Oasis of the Seas last year, the Windjammer Café has people seat you and find a table for you, instead of it being a free for all. It was an improvement from 2 yrs ago on Harmony, where it was free for all trying to find a place to sit. Does Symphony staff seat you at a table in the Windjammer or not? Thanks, much
  14. Thank you for this review. Were doing this exact itinerary in 2 days on March 22 and also have a 2 connecting Boardwalk rooms. Glad to hear privacy wasn't an issue. Question: how was the noise level?
  15. Great question. I know on our last few cruises (harmony, oasis, and freedom), they had comedy, but it was only for 18+, wasn't sure if you could still take your kids or would they be denied access. I have a 14 year old and 8 year old. Both are quite familiar with swearing and adult situations. My 14 yr old wanted to go.
  16. No allergies. Just picky eaters in my family?
  17. Royal Zombie, if you like rum drinks
  18. My son had to send back a streak once, it was chewy and fatty. Wonder, if they consider this a second entrée or if they have exceptions to this rule?
  19. Going on Symphony of the Seas on March 23,2019. Does any know if they serve both hard (fried / crispy) and soft shell tacos. All the videos, I've seen only show soft shell and if so, is it only flour tortillas or do you have the option of corn, as well?
  20. Another thing to add to the list is to let your waiter(s) know what your in a hurry, this happened to us last yr on Oasis and they got us out in about 1hr.
  21. Interested in your opinion of the virtual balcony
  22. Following as-well. We are going on Symphony on March 23. Looking forward to this ship. As our winter up here in MN has been brutal, so far this yr.
  23. Same feeling as Baked Alaska, would be interested to see and visit other ships, but very unlikely to happen. Security is too important right now for everybody onboard.
  24. Formal nights always take longer than casual nights in the main dining room. I've also found that smaller tables have a quicker turn around time than larger tables
