  1. Here's the Powder Room Power View on Mariner -- Deck 11 Ladies' Restroom
  2. Here are some pictures of Cabin 1639. It was sort of midship, on the port side. As you can see, I chose to have the beds separated because it gave me more room as a solo. Even with the beds together, the available room isn't bad, although there's only the one "easy" chair and then a desk chair.
  3. "This cruise, I'm bringing a hanging closet organizer for our shoes, an over-the-door shoe organizer for all of the bathroom, sunscreen, and all the little misc items (I've come to really appreciate this one), several drawer organizer collapsible containers (from IKEA), magnet hooks & clips galore to hang anything I can to keep stuff off the table, a magnetic white board week-at-a-glance to keep track of our days, and another white board for leaving notes for our cabin attendant along with the magnetic cup for pens. I feel like things are coming together. I'm open to suggestions for maximizing space in a small cabin. Have any?" You might want to bring one or two kitchen garbage bags to put in your suitcases. I assume you're going to keep them under your bed(s), and it's really handy to have the bags in there ready to receive dirty laundry! When I'm solo-ing, I just put my laundry in a bag in the closet, but putting it in the suitcase saves space and time when it comes to packing up at the end of the cruise. Also, don't forget lanyards to hold your seapass, and a water bottle for your trips to the fitness center!
  4. We B2B'ers did disembark, but as a group, through a separate line, to a separate waiting area, and then right back on the ship. It was painless, and no crowds involved! I honestly can't remember if I had to have my passport with me, but I don't think so.
  5. Thanks for that tip -- maybe I'll hold off on cancelling my reservation until I can ask someone who's on Navigator!
  6. Following with excitement and a feeling of deja vu! Last year, I sailed on a B2B on Navigator -- a 3 Night and then a 4 Night -- and made Diamond after the completion of the 1st half of the B2B. FWIW, my experience with your ~question~ ("We'll also share what happens when you stay on the ship for a second cruise and reach the next level with perks after the first cruise. I read once that you stay on the ship and the Diamond Concierge comes and gives you an orientation (of sorts). Hoping all this to be the case. ") was that I found the Loyalty Ambassador on Day 2 of the first cruise, and notified her of my impending "promotion." She very kindly liaised with the Diamond Concierge (because she thought she would be getting off the ship on our turnaround day -- as it happened, she didn't), and so the skids were greased for me to receive and enjoy my Diamond status as soon as I reboarded the ship for the second part of the B2B. I would definitely recommend locating and talking to the Loyalty Ambassador as soon as you can on the first leg. Bon Voyage!
  7. @Ampurp85Great news! Which ship? I'll be solo on Navigator in March with the same status and quandary you described ("if I am doing a 4N and only want to do two dinners, not Chops, it works out well. First night dining seems to be the worse. I will be D+ my next sailing but it would have been nice to know since I booked a la carte dining for my current cruise as only diamond."). If this is true for all ships, then I'll cancel my Izumi reservation @$28.99 for the first night and just set one up once I'm aboard (it's just a 4-night sailing -- but propelling me to D+ in time for our Panama Canal cruise in November
  8. Thanks, @Pooch, for the tip. Found them! With what others have said, the $28.99 doesn't look so bad after all, since apparently I could get a bowl and (maybe 1/2) of a roll for about the same price as paying for a la carte. I used OBC for $25 of it, so I'm really just out about $7 (including tip).
  9. I was listening to one of @Matt's podcasts, and one of the listener questions dealt with dining a la carte in Izumi. I'll be on Navigator in March, and I initially ordered the "prix fixe" meal at $28.99. I've been having second thoughts, mainly due to the fact that that meal will be a *lot* of food -- and I'm interested in just waiting and going a la carte. I'm traveling solo, so don't think getting in without a reservation will be a huge problem. I'm just curious what the a la carte prices are. Does anyone have a menu with prices from Navigator's Izumi, by chance?
  10. This is the missing link cruise (because no one has posted it between the other two)! I'm excited to be back on Navigator, and looking forward to exploring more of the Riviera del Pacifico in Ensenada (with a margarita or two!) and maybe some whale watching or snorkeling in Cabo. Hopefully the Atmospheric River will have receded in California. Anyone else?
  11. The Sushi Making class is AWESOME -- but don't eat before you go
  12. @sailaway_jasonDid you do this tour? How was it? We'll be doing it off of Mariner next week on the High Seas Rally. Did you get to go to the distillery?
  13. Hoping to do this in Puerto Plata next week. Has anyone experienced it? I've watched all of the YouTube videos I can find, and it looks amazing!
  14. As @ChessE4described, if it's an RCCL Shore Excursion, you'll probably be directed to meet out on the pier. There will be several people with signs. You'll be led down the pier to your waiting boat. My daughter and I did this off Oasis last December; the only snafu was when some people didn't account for their kids properly, and so the "guides" had to do several recounts to make sure everyone was. there. It was well-run overall, and fun!
  15. It has been my experience that the cabin stewards will (often without being asked) tape the extension cord down with painter's tape to eliminate/reduce the tripping hazard. Just let them know! And, if the water/extension cord aren't in your cabin when you first get in, let your steward know and he/she will track it down for you. I usually route the cord under the bed.
  16. How much is a latte at Cafe Promenade? Does anyone have access to (or can point me in the direction of) a current price list?
  17. I did almost the same in January/February 2022; a 3-Night and then a 4-Night on Navigator. Does your 5-Night stop at Catalina Island? I was in an Interior Virtual Balcony (1633) and then a regular Balcony. I found the interior pretty roomy -- for a solo traveler! It might have felt differently had there been two people in the room. I stayed at the Crown Plaza and posted a video on YouTube of the walk from the Crown Plaza to the Cruise Terminal. Easy and pleasant walk.
  18. They'll even loan you a free snorkel vest -- at least, they used to. There is a snorkel shack near Chill Beach that has equipment for rent, which is where I got my vest (and a temporary loan of fins when one of mine broke!
  19. Thanks, @USCG Teacher. Both of us can drive a stick shift, so here's hoping!
  20. We're planning on doing this on our cruise in October 2022. Has anyone done it? My main concern is the prospect of being "assigned" to a Jeep with people we don't know, as the "IMPORTANT" notes state "Parties of three guests or fewer will share a Jeep." Normally I wouldn't care, but I wonder how it's decided who will drive . . . My BH has back issues that will prevent us from riding ATVs
  21. To start off, I have only been seasick once -- in a 25 foot fishing boat off the coast of Monterey, CA -- and it was just a bad headache. Haven't experienced it since then, even on the rough days of a Northern Pacific Crossing on Westerdam in October 2018. That said, I'll be going on the Arctic Crossing in September on Voyager -- and figured I should take something JIC (that way, I know I won't need it ). Any suggestions for what an anti-seasickness "starter kit" could include? I'm already a ginger fanatic, and often ask for ginger root to put on / in my salad. I'm thinking maybe Bonine? Dramamine? Any suggestions?
  22. I visited Ensenada twice on a B2B in January 2022. The first time, I walked to the Bar Andaluz/ Centro Cultural Riviera (a former grand hotel) -- it was just under a mile to walk there, but pleasant enough. The second time, I took the RCL Wine Excursion so I could see the countryside -- which I did! We went to two vineyards, one of which was obviously set up for tourists (but nice, with a great store!), and one which was newer, and didn't have quite as extensive amenities, but their wine was pretty good. I would recommend it as a way to see the countryside -- there were some great views of Ensenada's bay coming back in.
  23. Has anyone done this excursion? It's out of Akureyri, Iceland, and involves a short plane ride. I checked on the cost of the flight itself, and RCL's excursion price is really reasonable. So I signed up! Just curious if anyone has any experience with it. I'll be on the Arctic Crossing T/A in September 2022
