  1. So it looks like they don’t care about returning in 7 days.
  2. While learning about the requirements for our upcoming Canada cruise, I found this. from here: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise
  3. I wondered this as well. The Cape is beautiful, but can be a long drive from (and back to) downtown Boston when the traffic is bad. Our middle son and his family live there. Driving times are a crapshoot.
  4. We usually stay at hotels close to the airport, and when we've gotten in late, we get pizza delivered to the room.......although back in January, with all the flight delays, we got to the hotel really, really late, and were thankful we've started bringing snack foods with us for times like that.
  5. I can only answer for my wife and I. When we leave 65-75 hour work weeks and subzero temperatures behind in December-March, there’s not much we enjoy more than a day on a tropical beach doing absolutely nothing.
  6. Absolutely!! We stood there for a minute on the pier just looking up at her, taking it all in. Adventure was the last ship we were on in February 2020, so it came full circle for us.
  7. We have always stayed closer to the airport, most recently in the Blue Lagoon area, but prior to that in the hotels just north of the airport. We like the Blue Lagoon area better due to how close it is to the airport after a long day’s travel, and the proximity of Publix and some restaurants. In the interest of full disclosure, we aren’t doing anything more than staying the night before boarding the ship, so sightseeing and being a tourist isn’t a factor.
  8. March 1, 2024 Voyager is now…….ADVENTURE!!!!!!
  9. Sure. I don’t think there are any truly hard and fast rules about tipping
  10. We’ve come a long way from sailing out of Nassau in 2021 when your vaccination card was checked four or five times….in the same room…by people who watched it get checked by the person before them…
  11. Over the past few years. people have taken “the customer is always right” to horrifying new levels. Spoiler: Customers are not always right, and in fact, ruin it for other customers by their entitled behaviors. We reap what we sow.
  12. Another plug for Michelle. She makes things easy.
  13. We changed from an interior to a balcony on a Feb 2023 Mariner sailing and not only had no fees, but the cost is less than it was when we originally booked the interior.
  14. I don’t believe there is a Sorrentos on Voyager. You can get pizza at the Cafe Promenade. We enjoy Voyager class ships and have never wanted for food, despite never eating at any specialty restaurants.
  15. You’re right. I’m confusing it with our upcoming sailing on Liberty. I need a day off. Sorry about that
  16. We have bids in on a JS and a GS for the same sailing, but I doubt we’ll get one….even if one of those becomes available, we didn’t move the meter much on our bids. This is a “forced vacation” for my wife and I, so if the crowds are crazy, we’ll sit on our balcony and get room service.
  17. We’re going to bring all three kids and their families on a cruise for our 30th anniversary. It’s a few years off, but the planning is in the beginning stages.
  18. You’ve never taken a trip with kids until you throw a 5 year old, 12 year old, and 13 year old in the back seat of an extended cab pickup (think half doors, not full size ones) and driven from Maine to Pensacola. I wish we had thought about cruising back then.
  19. The CocoCay Funnel Cake was a deciding factor for my wife when we booked a 3-night/4-night out of Port Canaveral next February.
  20. Well, I’m normally not this clueless, but apparently my wife already has the app since she travels across to see her parents. She just told me we’re all set for our upcoming cruise. I’ll go back to blissful ignorance.
  21. Just clarify….and to be honest, I haven’t researched any of this…. I just learned about it via this thread, and I’m on break at work. I guess I’m being lazy. Anyway, September/October cruises from Boston to the Maritimes and back to Boston will require ArriveCan?
  22. Yup, and not just cruising, but everywhere. I see it at work…not just how people treat retail workers, but how they treat each other, too. Society has made a huge shift over the past 2-3 years, and it’s sad in a lot of ways…..but this is definitely the wrong forum for this topic.
  23. We were at CocoCay last November, and while the beach club was crowded, the only people in the pool were my wife and I and a couple from Minnesota.
  24. Biggest issue I have with January cruising weather is having to take a big jacket so I don’t freeze my butt off when I walk out of the airport when we get back home. Other than that, I stopped bringing even a light jacket
