  1. I was not suggesting people quarantine, would be allowed to freely move about the ship...defeat the purpose of being quarantine....just saying the close proximity of passengers in a very confine structure, not design for medical quarantine is very problematic and should be deemed an absolute last option...which I don't feel it was. You make some very valid points, I certainly agree with; however, protocol wouldn't allow for 5000-6000 passengers & crew, be moved to one facility...something I should have been more clear about, in writing....but, leaving people on that ship, with questionable logistics in care & treatment, in my mind, is equivalent to sentencing some percentage of those passengers & crew, to death, given my understanding, for right now, the severity of the virus and this situation. It just appear, they should have been moved to whatever number of locations, equip to administer treatment & get some kind of handle of this ordeal...cruise ships are not a very conducive place to fight a new mini-pandemic(for now) & provide the type of tools, care, & treatment needed, imo. Glad to hear you confirm that the most severe patients are being moved off ship, into some medical facility...that certainly helps.

  3. Which imo, was a mistake, quarantining possible infected passengers on a ship, that will inevitably spread the virus throughout, given the close quarters of all areas of the ship. The ship should have ported, passengers should have been moved to a quarantine wing of a medical or treatment area, for some period of time, until a determination could be made on an individual basis, and allow trained crews to come in & disinfect the ship. The cruiseline cover whatever cost, they are covering now & will have to cover as the situation worsens. The whole ship may very well be infected when it's all said & done, and the quarantine will undoubtedly have to go pass the suggested 14-day quarantine period, as the possibility of bodies having to be removed, increase. I imagine at some point, they gonna have to port anyway, & move passengers to a safe, isolated location, preferably, at some medical facility.....again, which should have happened initially, in the first place.
  4. I'm not in any position to say with certainty, either way...just sharing a report that's closer to the epicenter of the situation. This report seems to verify or come much closer to other sources that I have read, from information leaking out; and, in conjunction with numerous of adjacent stories that is being reported around this circumstance.
  5. LoL...sorry, word predict on my phone gets on my nerves at times.
  6. Cruise ships are problematic...since in many cases, they're already a floating pastry dish, with access to many locations. So, I understand the concern of some of these small island nations. A small outbreak can devastating to their small population & wreck havoc to an already weak economy & infrastructure.
  7. Simple to me...they're faithful Carnival cruisers, who dare to speak the name, of a company, with a "sea name" ?
  8. WHO(World Health Organization) has now declared..... https://apnews.com/0f0f07b30c8cdd2b0f30c6081acc7599
  9. I'm very interested myself & in @Matt recommendation; as well as, if I may add, transportation arrangements to & fro, that location.
  10. Royal would do wonders with a private island(natural or man-made) or private resort on the Mexican Riviera
  11. Whoaaa....obviously you don't understand. It's not political; it's a comparison.
  12. I suspect it may be an hybrid of Oasis/Quantum-Ultra Class
  13. Wonder when Royal will confirm this...obviously, not showing on their site...
  14. The family lawyer is employing the Schiff/Nadler offensive playbook...if one understand that, you understand what he's doing for the family.... ?
  15. Royal seem to be adopting "Freestyle Dining" like on NCL. They still inact some minimal dress code...no flip-flops, no tank tops or muscle shirts, no night-time attire(pajamas), no caps or head gear, etc. Dress shirt with khaki shorts is ok.
  16. Keep in mind, a short time after the incident(approximately within 48hrs) when this was headline news, there was a report, authorities was looking into the child's medical records. That suggested the authorities possibly looking into something more sinister.
  17. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22234-royal-caribbean-out-wowing-itself.html This was a very good read imo...centering around some brief comments shared by Freed. Just thought I would include it in this thread because of similar content.
  18. Obviously, the frequency of ships at Coco Cay, on the same day, is increasing. Should not be much of a surprise, when "New Day" @ Coco Cay was opened; certainly had to expect the number of ships going there would turn out to be the norm. With the Summer Cruise Season, just around the corner, wouldn't be surprise to see an uptick in itineraries there. New Day @ CC has been an humongous hit...Royal is not slowing it down anytime soon.
  19. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22213-los-angeles-plans-two-new-cruise-terminals.html 5000 passengers....obviously referring to an Oasis Class ship. Would be nice...but no other ports on the West Coast or Mexican Riviera can handle that size. So unless Royal is working with the Port as well as other ports down the line...there would be tendering galore at every destination, if something like this comes to fruition. Neitherless, would be nice.....
  20. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7896071/Grandfather-dropped-toddler-death-cruise-ship-aware-open.html "Unquestionably AWARE It Was Open"...…..
  21. Those numbers, as striking as it look, is somewhat of a misnomer....not everyone will go to the island; yet alone, at the same time period or duration. Royal, no doubt, are gauging the volumn it can handle(12,000 is what's quoted) while taking advantage of the opportunity to increase revenue...common practice. There is still much undeveloped growth on the island(a third of the island is currently in use as quoted); and, as more ideas come to fruition, as to more venues & activities, I'm fairly sure another pier will be built & the frequency & volumn will undoubtedly increased...and hopefully some percentage of additional revenue goes keeping prices level, as they invest more & more into the company, in bringing us more technology & conveniences, improved & new fleet, and newer port itineraries & private island and/or resort areas across the world(personally, like on the West Coast....just saying ?)
  22. Any artist renderings yet or home port & sailing region, etc?
