If you don't see it offered reach out to them and ask. Possibility that they are sold out  but might be able to squeeze two more in.

I think the reason I don't see it yet on the Flavors of San Juan site is because it is too far out from my cruise date.  It's only about 1.5 months out on their site and I am just outside of that window.  I have been checking and more dates open up as it closer to the date.

Also if you decide to book directly with the company use code flavorsEAT for a discount.

Thanks for the promo code!  I will be sure to use it if I go that route

    Food Tour time!

Booked the very last minute for the Old San Juan Food Tour with Flavors of San Juan (not a ship sponsored tour). Our guides for this journey were Shannon and Fernando. The size of our group for this culinary journey hovered at 8. Meeting point was at POPULAR Bank/Carli's Fine Bistro & Piano between Calle Tizol and Calle San Justo and Calle Recinto Sur at 2:45 pm.

    @CGTLH

I really want to do this tour when I am on Adventure in April.  On the cruise planner it looks like this is an option for at least $20/pp.  I can see the same company logo on the tour guides shirts in the description.  So far it is not available to do so on their website.  My wife is apprehensive about going on an excursion that is not through RC, but it appears as though the 2:45/3:00 start time is the sweet spot for ensuring plenty of time to enjoy the tour and get back on the ship with a little bit of independent exploration time on either side of the tour.

After reading this we (or myself at least) are doing this!  ??

One bonus to doing so is to get a passport stamp.

I enjoy getting my passport stamped!  My wife on the other hand could care less about that aspect of it.  ?

Last year on a cruise we stopped at Grand Turk and they charged us $1 for the stamp... ?  Every where else so far it has been free though

  4. My wife and I are cruising out of Fort Lauderdale on Adventure of the Seas on April 13th.  We fly in on the afternoon of the 12th and then are staying the night after debarkation as well.  We have not cruised out of this port previously.  What are some good things to do while we are in the area, food recommendations, etc.  Also, debating on whether or not to rent a car or just Uber everywhere.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  5. Cruising on Adventure of the Seas in April.  I keep seeing different promotions for my the same cruise that I am on with slightly different cruise fares (lower).  When I booked my cruise I did get the Buy one Get on 60% off.  Now I am seeing slightly lower updated prices for my same class of stateroom with additional on board credit.  If I were to call RC and inquire about this how likely am I to get them to reprice my stateroom and add those additional on board credits?

Of note, I have already paid for my stateroom and have no outstanding balance.

Yes...the key disappeared for me too.  I registered myself first and then wanted to register my roommate on the cruise so she could pay her part and it greyed out.

Now I am not sure what will happen....I have the key and she doesn't.    Did anyone else have this happen too while you were logged on to My Cruise Planner.

Sailing in May on Harmony of the Seas!!!!

That's odd that you were only able to purchase it for yourself and not your cabin mate, too.  The key is supposed to be purchased by everyone in the same cabin just like the drink packages.  You may want to call RC and see if they can add it on for them.

  7. Does anyone know if "The KEY" sells out like other packages/excursions?  I know it is still relatively new for RC.  I will be going on my first RC cruise in April and we purchased it.  Carnival, which I have previously cruised, has something similar called "Faster to the Fun" without most of the features associated with the key and there are a finite number per cruise that are available and it sells out very quickly.  The main reason I am curious is because on embarkation day for the included lunch at Chops will it be able to handle the amount of people if they make it available to every cruiser and for the reserved seating for shows?

As far as things to bring, I think a big one that many of us here take along is some kind of USB charging hub for our various devices (phones, tablets, cameras, etc.), as even the newest ships (outside of Quantum class) don't include any USB ports in the room's outlet complement. If you don't yet have one of these and want to get one, there's a unit made by Anker that I own and can highly recommend. It passes the safety requirements for use on a ship -- no surge protector, not a high current draw -- and it can charge up to 5 devices at once, one of them using higher speed / higher amperage charging for a faster battery top-off.

Have you tried using the USB ports on the TV in the room to charge your devices?
