With ships seemingly fuller than ever why would anyone be surprised if benefits they did have went away. Airlines have done it for years and are more profitable than ever.

That’s the part I don’t get, even though I fly for business every week, I don’t get upset with the person who paid for the first class upgrade and then I don’t get a free upgrade. Would a diamond member get upset with a first time cruiser who books a star class suite and gets seating held at shows?

In addition to the number of days sweetspot, if you were taking a cruise where you were rendering at many of the ports it could also be very helpful to cut down on waiting time.

No. The Wowbands can not be used to get on or off the ship. There’s no where to scan them, and the traditional sea pass cards need to be scanned. Also, you’ll find it cumbersome to use the Wowband at some of the bars as you have to take it off and hand it to the bartender so they can scan it on their end. Think of it more as being in addition to a seapass card instead of replacing it.

I always figure I can sit in a boring hotel room or sit right next to the ship. I’ll always pick the ship.

Disembarkation and TSA Precheck

One thing to kee in mind is that most major airports offer “on-arrival” global entry where you can complete your in person appointment when you fly back into the country. -
Yeah. It’s definitely a sore spot for some.

Also, for anyone thinking it’s time for a new credit card and also thinking about global entry, consider one of the cards that covers your global entry expense. The Amex platinum for example pay for one global entry membership every five years. -

It’s mostly things like have you ever been arrested? Is___ your current address? is ____ your name they already know all the answers, so just answer truthfully and you won’t have any problems. Also, be sure to lotion up your hands for the few days prior if you have dry skin. My mother is on blood thinners, so fingerprints are always a problem. If you know it already will be they sell a product called Cornhuskers lotion that helps a lot of people -
I think as @Matt proved over the last week, there’s plenty to do without dropping a dime at CocoCay. The free activities at CocoCay rival the private islands from NCL and Carnival, and I’d say look a lot better than Labadee.

For me it’s also about measuring the worthwhile-ness of calling casino royal to check my MGM Mlife price. Without the baseline of what it was I’d just be taking random shots in the dark when calling them. And with the lack of customer service skills in their weekend call center, I better have everything buttoned up before calling.

It used to drive me nuts when I’d travel with my family and have to go through the slow lanes. So even though my wife will only it 5 or 6 times a year, adding her as a clear family member was a must. -
I only go to Dulles if something is very wrong or are finishing up an international trip. It’s always a cluster getting through there. Only thing it has going for it are the Priority pass lounges, but those have been way too crowded recently, especially the Turkish lounge.

Our one complaint was that it’s a long hike with beach bags in tow and on the way back a tired daughter. The shuttles appeared to be too infrequent and way too packed to be comfortable.

I’m equidistant between all three DC area airports, all are about 50 miles away. So for all of our cruises we head to BWI to fly southwest. Having the companion pass for the last four years makes that an easy choice. That and I despise gate 35x at DCA

Norwegian has also said they’re adding it to their new terminal at Port Miami this fall, so hopefully it’ll spread across the other cruise lines. -
I wish I was clever enough to write a script that would check it and also my December cruise on Norwegian Encore. That one has never gone down, booked the week the sailings went up and it’s now increased almost 25 percent from what I booked at.

One thing to think about is the beach beds on Labadee, that area isn’t private so the kids could pull up chairs and no one will give them any problems. We loved ours and had a great attendant.
-
We booked Oasis for November 2020 and there was a single price drop in the last month of tracking. It was less than 24 hours after the initial booking. I keep a spreadsheet and check it almost daily, hoping something worth it will show up in a star class cabin.

If I were to guess my first guesses would be that your based in Dallas, Charlotte, or Chicago? Most others l, especially those not in AA hub cities would have that transpiration cost savings negated by the connection that would be added out of FLL. Flying 110-125 times a year anytime I can cut a connection out of a trip is always better.
