  1. I’ll second what Raye said. I wouldn’t worry about it not coming down later. Just keep monitoring. For my Indy sailing in October (4 nights) the drink package came down to 49 this week.
  2. Definitely. Would be cool to each week pick a destination/port and share classic pictures.
  3. Especially if you are going out of FLL you’ll have plenty of time to get on the 12:00 departure. It’s only a couple of minutes. Even with Miami you should be good around noon if you are doing self assist and taking the luggage off. Last year my daughter and I did it in reverse (getting off at Miami and going up to FLL) and were in the airport and through security by 8:30. If you are concerned about airport security consider signing up for the free trial of CLEAR as both MIA and FLL have it.
  4. You still have more credentials than I’ll ever have in public health. The closest I get is setting the huge contracts my wife handles for her company (they just got 40 million in COVID vaccine contracts) Now if you ever need an expert in puffed snacks I’m your guy.
  5. Oh man, just wait until the Virgin Voyages party cruises start up.
  6. And not sure if you had any kids coming along, but it’s a great deal if you get to move from a KSF sailing to a standard sailing.
  7. I’m guessing this is a Perfect day sailing on Oasis rather than Bermuda or one of those others? If so, there may be other ships, sailings available to you in the lift and shift if Oasis next year isn’t ideal. Remember, it needs to be the same number of days, and general itinerary region. Ship can change.
  8. Nope, just a concerned insider who appreciates the community that @Matt has fostered for ten years now.
  9. Again, as I asked in another topic, what cruise related thing are you here for? You joined half an hour ago and have added nothing useful to any discussion. I’m more than willing to take a look at any credential you have in epidemiology, but we already have an epidemiologist here in @Baked Alaska . We’ve already got a designated troll, and luckily right now he/she only comes out from under that bridge on weekends.
  10. Just as a reminder. @matt has asked for no discussion of politics. It’s the sticky post at the top titled “don’t do these things”
  11. Plus or minus 4 weeks. So for example if you were in 9/15 you’d have the four weeks prior and four weeks after.
  12. I would probably say around July 1st. By that point it looks like we’ll have a better idea, I think as everything heading north has already been canceled I wouldn’t feel good about them opening the port. Also, they’ve said there will be a staggered phased in approach, starting in August, so If I’m you I’m running through the machinations of return order and probably figuring anywhere from 4-8 weeks after startup I don’t see Oasis coming back, especially only for a few weeks before heading to home port in Florida.
  13. noticed in the master cruise list I must have messed up the date on my Oasis sailing. It’s 11/8 not 11/6. I wish they’d let me on two hours early.
  14. Roll calls aren’t really the thing here, in the people connection there is a place to share your upcoming cruises and you’ll be able to see if anyone else is in that sailing.
  15. I thought that was rabies I caught on that Carnival cruise once ?
  16. Ah, you’re giving me nightmares. ? I’m so ready to get off the Acela after the 3 hour ride to NYC. Can’t imagine the slower train for 22 hours.
  17. For cruises. There are ones where it makes sense (airline tickets, planning out Disney adventures, etc..) but that’s because there isn’t a commission paid by the provider for those.
  18. I wasn’t on one of the canceled Hurricane Dorian cruises but if I remember most were given the option to take a refund or FCC with some sort of boost for the FCC which came with terms ( @Matt I cant seem to find it but thought you may remember as you were scheduled on one) that still apply today. Again, this is why an agent is worth their weight in gold when it comes to knowing the policies and who to talk to.
  19. No. Unless that travel agent is adding something very special there shouldn’t be a fee. Their commission is paid for by the cruise line. Run as fast as you can from that agent.
  20. Have you had your travel agent call to apply your original future cruise credit to a new sailing?
  21. @Matt put together a very comprehensive article when the cancelations started relating to what the procedures were and what would happen. While not ideal it’s precisely the way you described. The enhanced FCC should have been for $2.50 and the initial cruise credit still remains under the original confirmation number having become active again. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/03/16/royal-caribbean-future-cruise-credit-what-you-need-know What if I used a Future Cruise Credit to pay for a now canceled cruise? If you used a Future Cruise Certificate on a cancelled sailing, you will receive a new Future Cruise Certificate. This will be for 125% of any new monetary funds paid on this sailing, plus the reactivated value of your original certificate at 100% of its worth, with an expiration date of December 31st, 2021 and a sail by date of April 30th, 2022.
  22. I’ve got an idea. Let’s get a Delorean and we can go back to the 1970s and convince the CDC that the cruise ship industry will never be big enough for them to care about. While we’re there we’ll definitely have to get some apple stock.
  23. There’s something so refreshing about being able to arrive nearly last minute for a flight at DAL instead of trudging through DFW. I almost always fly into DAL when I come into town.
  24. Would potentially be a good subsection of the message boards setup in a tree fashion Region-Port-hotel info
  25. If you ever want a bleak look at the future of the air industry just check our places like Tulsa or Goodyear. The big 3 have parked huge fleets with some never coming back. Delta has already retired all of their 777’s, MD88 and MD90s.
