I recommended Dail 7 because they are a great service and dont have surge pricing. NY is expensive. -

I recommend Dial 7 Car Service. I live in the NY metro area and have used them many times. You can make a reservation in advance and I recommend , you do so. Please also give yourself alot of time because traffic is bad. https://www.dial7.com/WebRes/bookTrip/t2155?languageChange=EN -
We stayed at the Hotel Golden back in 2015 when we sailed out of Civitavecchia and we also used Stefano's Rome Cabs. So sorry to hear about the situation in Israel.

Alaska pre-planning question...
mjb1127 replied to Lovetocruise2002's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Seward cruises end in Vancouver or start in Vancouver and end in Seward. -
It is the lack of cruise protocols that is disturbing on Carnival. Royal is being much more careful with crowds not to mention buffets. I am not sailing until 2022 and it is not on Carnival.

Last night, I watched the youtubers JJ Cruise who said they wouldn't sail Carnival again for the time being because they felt unsafe.

(Possible) Pregnancy & Shore Excursion/Drinks Changes?
mjb1127 replied to choirbird's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes, you absolutely can cancel excursions and drink packages and then re-book for easier excursions and the refreshment package. Try to book a mid-ship cabin as far as seasickness. Congrats on your upcoming wedding and enjoy all the planning. -
We are seeing big drops in cases here in NY. My county's positivity rate is 1.17 percent! It was over 4 percent not long ago! I don't think it will go away completely until more people get vaccinated. I was reading early this week that there was an outbreak in Oregon in a rural area where very few people were vaccinated.

Then, why did they cancel those Mariner sailings? https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/03/16/royal-caribbean-redeploys-mariner-of-the-seas-between-october-2021-april-2022

Even if the CDC gave them the go ahead, they would need to sail at reduced capacity. So, whatever month they start sailing, they will cancel that months sailings and put new sailings out for purchase.

Peter Greenberg has a wonderful interview with Kate McCue in this week's broadcast. It is in the first 32 minutes. https://petergreenberg.com/2021/03/12/eye-on-travel-new-york-march-13-2021/

My husband and I took our son when he was 13. We tried to plan some kid friendly experiences. In Barcelona, we went to Camp Nou because he was really into soccer. In Palma Majorca, we took an RCL excursion to the Aquarium. He loved Capri. That was his favorite port. He wasn't interested in Florence but he did like climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I say go for it. We did spend Pre-Cruise time in Rome before the cruise and he still talks about it over 5 years later.

Western Mediterranean Cruise info please
mjb1127 replied to PPPJJ-GCVAB's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I like your plan. When, we took a Western Med cruise, we spent 3 nights in Rome pre-cruise and we're very happy we did that. There is too much to do in Rome in 1 port day. We immediately flew home after our cruise but if I could do it again, I would do what you are doing and spend a couple nights post cruise in Venice and then fly home from there. So 3 days post cruise and a couple nights post cruise would be a great combo plan of land and sea. If you wanted to add in more time, Croatia is 2 hours from Venice. I have a friend from Rijeka and she often flies Delta to Venice when she wants to visit home. -
In 2015, we stayed 1 night at the Hotel Traiano which was fine. We spent 3 nights before that in Rome. If I had to it over again, I would have spent the night before in Rome. Rome just has so much more to offer than Civitavecchia.

Thank you Twangster!

I am booked on the Radiance June 2021. I am concerned the sailing might be cancelled. When I look on the website and search for my sailing and click on the itinerary. It says sailing from August 6, 2021. Do you think this means anything?
