  1. This is what I was saying from my 1st post. It has to be a logistical nightmare. Think about it. it 11:55 am and you are only allowed to stay until noon. You and 50 other passengers decide you want one more run on Daredevil. How long will it take to walk up 135 feet? Now you are standing behind 46 people, it is 12:30 by the time you get finished with the ride. You now need to collect your belongings before you leave. Ohhhh that wave pool looks so good....I'll just pop in for 1 more wave, maybe 2. (hard to see those wristlets) It id now 1pm. before you exit and nobody during that 1 hr approached you. The only way they could truly clear it out is to shut down rides for a specific amount of time, and request all guests, including cabanas to exit, and than re-enter. You are talking about people that spent close to 1K for a cabana. That would tick me off. They pulled the 1/2 day off of my planner just last week. I know this because someone on my sailing was trying to decide between am and pm. By the time they decided after reading opinions/posts, which was the next day, it was gone. Most posters thought that they probably hit the limit for 1/2 day bookings. Now it appears to me that they have decided to not offer it. I think they did this as soon as they saw within the 1st few days they opened it that their staff felt it was not doable. I still think it is doable, but only if they offered 1/2 day in the pm. , or full day. You can't offer morning (see above regarding overstaying)
  2. Actually I think they may not make as much money this way. Think about it, before they offered 2 half days, and of course 1 full day. When it was 1/2 day on my sailing the cost was 35.99. The full day was @74. So if you do the math, let's say 1K in the a.m., 1K in the pm, and 500 all day. That would equate to @110K in revenue for 1/2 days , and 90K now with full day only. I know those are high numbers, just did it for ease of illustration. Most of the people that I saw posting were not buying the full day,, they were purchasing 1/2 day.. Thus, to me I think it brings it back to a logistical nightmare for staff. I really didn't look at the time slots to see if they had basically a down time and cleared all of the a.m. passengers out, and than opened up later so the p.m. could enter. It is too big of an area to keep track. Now to me I think they could have kept the 1/2 day, all they had to do was follow the amusement park system. Allow 1/2 day only to enter in the p.m. I would think that would be even a higher amount of revenue because many will than turn and say I will pay the 46.99 for a full day since it is only 10 bucks more. There will also be passengers that will opt for 1/2 day and maybe do another excursion option like kayaking or ziplining, which would increase their revenue. Many impo will hold the belief that since they are paying for full day at that price, than they are going to spend every minute in Thrill and not pay for even the smallest things like beach mats or snorkel gear. Lastly, I am glad I am not doing Thrill for one big reason....chair hogs. I can see people leaving their towels at Thrill and jump over to Oasis or Chill for an hr or two.
  3. It is gone from my July sailing on Adventure. Like others it was there about 3-4 days ago. However, I will say they dropped the full day price. I recall the 1/2 day being @35, but now the full day is only 47. I could see why they would stop doing it because it seems like a logistical nightmare for the staff. They would have to be looking at everyone's wristbands constantly. My assumption would be there would be 3 colors, 1 for a.m., 1 for p.m., 1 for full day. I am sure there will be people that over extends their 1/2 day, thus, it is just easier to offer full day only. I consider my sailing to be a full day. We dock at 8 and depart at 5. For me I consider that a full day.
  4. I am decorating my door, and my family that will be joining us will also be decorating their doors. The beauty of this, especially on a larger ship is those hallways can be long....if your door is decorated it is so much easier to find them.
  5. Venting and LMAO. On another forum there are posters complaining about the Perfect Day, they believe it is all about making passengers pay for more things aka upgrades. You can drill it in their brain all day long, that there are more free items/selections now than there was before to no avail. I get the idea that some feel the island is no longer the "deserted island" feel. I would still disagree, but I get their point. However, when they say now they have to pay when before it was free, I want to hit my head against the wall.
  6. For my cruise there were no bungalow options and I booked the cabana 9 mos before the cruise, thus, I took the cabana. I am okay with it because my SIL is insanely fair so having all 3 sides shaded will make her happy. I like the idea of being totally away from the crowds. I have been told by recent passengers that although the beach mat is no longer included, some of their attendants went and got them free of charge. My guess is that it depends on how many are there for the day. I am hoping this is true, we will be the only ship that day, and it is the Adventure, so I don't see it being off the charts crowded.
  7. If it doesn't open until Dec. than I am not sure there are any pics to be taken anytime soon.
  8. @tiny blonde No the WJ is not open 24 hrs. Typically it closes @ 9 pm. That is why posters are talking about taking plates back to their room for a midnight nosh instead of ordering room service. After that bewitching hour you can go to certain spots on your ship that offer limited late night snacks, such as, pre-made sandwiches, select desserts and pizza. Room service is 24/7, You pay 7.95 + grats for as much food you want to order. We take a balcony so you will see me 2x a day bringing plates My husband and I will walk the track or go to the gym very early a.m.. We order the free continental breakfast to be delivered to our cabin at a set time. As we go back to the cabin, we stop in the WJ for fresh made omelets and some hash browns. Plate #1 for the day. We do late seating for dinner. We go to the WJ @ 5 and have early cocktail hr. WJ is serving dinner at this time. We make plate #2 and 3 to take back to the room. #2 is filled with nosh food for my hubby. #3 is mine. As stated we place it in the mini-fridges aka cooler. If hubby is hungry we will hit whatever place is open for pizza, and as I said before just unwind on the balcony eating food and guzzling down water to rehydrate. We do leave the plates out in the hall before we go to sleep.
  9. I agree with @Matt you need to decide which way you want to go. We booked our July Chill cabana back in late Sept/early Oct. However, I would add this, there are limited numbers of cabanas. If you look at my weeks sailing (7/12/19) Chill is 449 and has been for weeks. However, if you look at it, it says check on board, iows, it is sold out. The Oasis Lagoon cabana is going for....wait for it...1049. Thrill Island Cabana is 931. The highest I ever saw for Chill was 899 ( I got ours at 449) My point is this week it could be the same, next week it might not be. Everything that I have been told about cabana locations is that there really isn't a bad location. RCCL has taken care to make sure they are prime spots. @ptod Unfortunately my TA is doing a Trans Atlantic cruise on Disney this week, so I will have to wait to see if what the RCCL reps are saying is true until she comes back...she too deserves a vacation with her family. As stated I purchased this many moons ago, actually the day I reserved my cabin through her. I looked on my cruise planner and I have no letter associated with my reservation, just my reservation number. Hence, now I am curious to see if in her details she has a letter associated with our cabana.
  10. @MotleyCruiser This time I am going to go to WJ before dinner and get a plate of Asian food, than place it in my mini-cooler. One of the things I can't wait to do is eat semi-cold Asian food on my balcony after a late night of shows and dancing to absorb any residual alcohol in my system. My husband will be the one eating cookies and cake at that hour. I am also not picky, if they have fried chicken in the WJ, that works at midnight too when it is cold.
  11. My July 2019 sailing is no longer offering 4 or 5 night for our 8 night cruise.
  12. I hope they remember not to charge these passengers in case they want a 2nd entrée!
  13. Found what Matt posted Can I use a GoPro camera at Perfect Day at CocoCay? GoPro cameras are allowed to be used on the island, with the exception that for safety reasons any personal electronic device of any kind are not allowed on any of the following attractions: All water slides at Thrill Waterpark Adventure Pool in Thrill Waterpark Splashaway Bay Captain Jill’s Galleon On the island’s Zip Line, riders who wish to wear a GoPro must bring their own helmet mount that attaches securely to the helmet. If the staff notices the camera prevents a guest from safely participating in the activity at any time, they may ask the guest to remove or adjust the camera I do recall when we did parasailing on Coco Cay someone did use a GoPro, so I know that they allow GoPro there.
  14. If I recall correctly it is a NO for the waterslides. Yes, for the zipline, but you need to bring your own helmet mount and the staff may require you to set it in a different position due to safety requirements. I believe Matt discussed this on the Coco Cay opening blog.
  15. Saw the video and I laughed a little...35 seconds is the total ride time, but I wonder how long it will take to get to the top to enjoy that 35 seconds
  16. I love how a passenger said that their aft balcony cabin was now an unobstructed sea view.
  17. I am going on Adventure in July, and it will be the only ship at port. With only 3114 passenger load, I think it will feel like our own private island.
  18. I would splurge on a cabana, bungalow or beach bed at Labadee or CocoCay. That or the dining package.
  19. Actually my husband would disagree with the "there is nothing not to like".....Belgium is known for what every woman loves.....DIAMONDS, granted it is not Antwerp, but you still can get some great diamonds. For me I have made sure that my husband never drinks Chimay beer ever again.
  20. If you go onto Perfect Day and than go to the bottom of the excursion part, hit the see all and it should show up. You can either rent as a passenger or drive it yourself. I believe the passenger is 30 and by yourself is 75
  21. Bruges is AMAAAZING! It is known in Europe as the Venice of the North. It is a great walking city. Make sure you get some battenburg lace. I am not sure you can bring tulips back on board, but if you can buy some. The chocolates are great too.
  22. @Chasity you can't pick your cabana until you are on board. The cruise planner only holds the cabana, but not the exact spot.
  23. Not that I know of. I believe that is just an item number within their system for purchasing. I have always been told that, as other posters have stated, you need to reserve the actual cabana location once on board. I know for our reservation we have an alphabet number for Chill Island, but the cabanas are numerical. Thus, G is just the reservation. The cabana would be 1,2, 3, etc. and you get that number once you select the cabana on board.
  24. This is one reason my family decided to do this as a group sailing. It is also why we are doing Adventure in July (8 night). We sail out on Friday and get back Sunday a.m. Nobody in our group has to fly in. They will take off 6 days total from work. I would say @JLMoran that another beauty of Anthem is that they flip the ship, It will now go to NE/Canada for 8 nights. The thing is if you look at it. Anthem and Adventure work in tandem. When one is in NE/Canada, the other is in the Caribbean.
