  1. That's surprising. If they are going to change up a show, it's usually dry dock, right?
  2. The Navigator slides look amazing. Would there be room for these types of slides? Perfect storm are more contained to a specific space.
  3. Since we come with kids, happy they are adding waterslides, Abyss (I know, sore spot for some), another (and different) laser tag, etc. We're past the younger pool, but Splashaway Bay is also great addition for families. Loved El Loco Fresh on Symphony so great they are adding these to more ships. No booking on Oasis at this time, but would happily book it. Think they made some good decision. I'm sure many are anxious to hear if Cats is being replaced as i'ts not mentioned.
  4. Mariner news has been quite quiet. Any indication when it will re-open? I know there is the on-going court case but not sure when that is done and thoughts of mariner re-opening.
  5. Yeah. . that's why we're now thinking we should keep it as same price as you (but converted to CAD) and know we'll never get specialty for $20 USD each (or $26 CAD). But like others here we like MDR and that's $200.
  6. Love all the interactive art on Symphony. For this picture, did you mean deck 5 MDR? I remember seeing one there but didn't know they had same thing hear Windjammer. (They have a cute drawing one up there)
  7. Love lyour pictures. Brings back great memories. And wow...you really captured a great picture of the drones in the ice show. Hope you're having a great cruise so far!
  8. twangster, really enjoying your review. We're going on Anthem in March for first time and I think Ovation is pretty similar. So your review has gotten me much more excited as Ovation is a beautiful ship with great views and things to do. Our kids will love the Sea Plex and the 270 looks really nice too (even though you just commented you are not in there as much this time). The entertainment seems pretty good too. Seems like you're having a great time! Thank you for sharing with us.
  9. When we booked Navigator, one of the first things we did was purchase BOGO. It cost us $52 CAD pp (4 of us, but we'd get refund and only charged $10 for our younger one). Then a little while ago, we were thinking that it's only a 4 night cruise and we are ones who enjoy the MDR so we will probably cancel. On Mariner, we did Chops and really enjoyed it, but we were a bit disappointed on Symphony with the same restaurant. Even our DS said he just wants the MDR. But now it seems like BOGO is gone fleet wide and at best, we can get Chops + 1 at $87 (and Chops alone is $57). So...debating if we should just keep BOGO as this might be the last time we bother with specialty....but then again it's 50% of our dining time and it would save us $200 by cancelling. And we enjoy getting to know our waiter in MDR, etc. But is BOGO a thing of the past? I'm sure many either just purchase the 3 day dining (which is close in price to Chops + 1), ultimate or nothing with the current prices.
  10. Mee, really sorry to hear your bad experience / issues with drink package. Hope things get resolved and look up. We'll be on Adventure in December and really looking forward to it. Voyager class is DH's favorite (perfect size, etc). Hope you can still enjoy your cruise.
  11. Thanks for all the comments. They've been helpful to see different sides. We feel the same as the above comment that if we were a family of 3 or 4 (i.e. if our kids were with us), then the extra space would be a bigger deal. But for just DH and I, we manage fine in a standard stateroom. A tub and full size shower vs the tube shower isn't a bit deal. i actually like having the glass shower door on the tube vs a curtain that flows and can leak water (unless i saw wrong in pictures). The main goal for us would be the double points. We currently have 5 booked cruises (all in regular staterooms) and after those we'll be 15 points from Diamond. So if we switched to a JS on Adventure, then we'd be 9. Typically we take 7 and 4 day cruises, so guess it just means that we'll need a 7 and two 4 days vs a 7 and one 4 day cruise. I'll keep watching but for now, we'll probably stick with out balcony room (which for us is even a step up as we often for a promenade room) PS - Not sure it's worth $750 but that walk in would be nice!
  12. Thank you...that does. The summary at the Suite level selection mentions dedicated entertainment seating, but that's probably for GS categories and more. A little deceiving.
  13. I know this is a personal question but if you already have a (spacious) balcony booked, how much more would you pay for a Junior Suite on a non-Oasis ship? Our 6 night Adventure cruise has come down a nice amount, but then so has the JS. For us, there is just 2 of us on this cruise so we are fine in terms of space and the real main benefit is the double points. At the moment its about $750 CAD more than our booking. It's a smaller gap than it's been but that's still a good chunk of money that can be spent elsewhere. As a side question...do you get reserved seats for JS room (and if so, where on Adventure)?
  14. Same here but other corner on Mariner. When is your cruise? OP looking forward to cruise. Your stateroom will have some great views. Safe travels
  15. We went right to Chops (Central park) when we boarded to make our reservation, but you can go to any specialty.
  16. It certainly seems like that's their plan. Chops + 1 is much more than BOGO was, but yet only a few dollars less than 3 night dining.
  17. Can't describe yet but we have one booked on Harmony. They look like a good alternative to an inside room as they have a window (overlooking Central Park) and the extra seat. We've booked Promenade before and enjoy these so imagine we'll enjoy this as well. We don't spend a ton of time in the room so the price savings was worth it to us over a balcony or ocean view.
  18. That's an amazing price. On Anthem, the full day waterpark if $105 CAD. Huge difference (even when converting USD to CAD)
  19. Pina, guess off topic but DH and I are trying Adventure in Dec and we'll be on Anthem in March with our kids. Looking forward to both. (And DH and I looked at Majesty for Dec but wanted one with a bit more dining and amenities). Wondering what you mean by above? Is that like the donut pool on the Allure? OP great photos of Majesty. Thanks for sharing! In the last photo, why was there no water in the pool?
  20. I saw a post on Facebook that it is re-opened today on Independence.
  21. No charge on Mariner or Symphony. It's a lot of fun, and my DS especially loved it...and your kids are perfect ages. Having said that, $20 seems a lot if its the same game length as the two ships (i.e. game is maybe 10 minutes long)
  22. We sail for the ship over the ports. But for us, the best is when you have a port of call but you decide to stay onboard (e.g. Nassau). That way, it's like a sea day but with less people. The only downside is that there are not quite as many activities going on and things may open a bit later.
  23. Thanks. Just double checked again on our booking (where a price drop is possible), and OBC is only in the interior and ocean view for our cruises. For our balcony category, no OBC and stayed the same. Glad you were able to get some OBC.
