And then you are still paying for 2 packages. I do not and will not pay for a package that will not be used or have any meaningful benefit. My wife only drinks water, tea, and black coffee. All of which are already included in the cruise fair. So a deluxe package for me would cost me that plus a refreshment package. It will never be worth it.

Yes it may for "YOU" but if you have others in the room then they all have to have a package... that is the extra cost you have to consider as well.

Let's take a poll on once a day cleaning!
Jolly Ogre replied to Phillip Diamond Plus's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I don't like it but not for the reason you think. I think it is really crappy that they decrease the service to the guests but up the rooms that the attendant has to service, so it is more work for them. -
I have never purchased the deluxe drink package not because I would not be able to get value out of it, it was because I would have to purchase it for my wife as well and she does not drink that much. Even if I were to call Royal and then just get the refreshment package for her, she is still not going to get the value out of it as she only drinks water, tea and black coffee. I would just get the refreshment package for me and then get alcohol ala cart. It has saved me hundreds on all my sailings. Now that we are Diamond, we get 4 alcohol dinks per day. She will likely only use 2 per day if that. I will get her other 2 weeee!!

YES!! We learned about this in the 6th grade... come on children...please use what is little left of your brains.

Extra waters for diamond and diamond plus
Jolly Ogre replied to MarilynB's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Umm...yeah that could make you feel better but it will not really hydrate you more. At least that is not how we were taught in chemistry and med school. But then again what do I know??!! If it makes you feel better then you do you. -

Do you have a port and do it yourself? or do you go to the med bay for the IV? -

Harmony Jr. Suites - half open shower?
Jolly Ogre replied to CrimsonCruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
yeah that is what we had but with a shower curtain as well. -
We got there about 10 in the morning. No problem getting a reservation at all. We ate about 1 PM...got rained on pretty good about 3 as we were heading in.
-
We were there this past December while on Oasis and you could only make reservations at the Beach club. You had to get there early and do it in person.

Harmony Jr. Suites - half open shower?
Jolly Ogre replied to CrimsonCruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We have sailed on Symphony and Oasis in a JS and there was the full tub with a 1/2 fixed glass wall with a shower curtain that was full tub width. -
What travel agency (agencies) do you recommend
Jolly Ogre replied to SewerUrchin43's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
+1 I used Danielle until she left and then Michelle took over and I have been more than satisfied with her since. -
That sucked... We have been on Allure, Oasis and Symphony and have always went to the Solarium for breakfast vs the WJ... much quieter and relaxing and less children running around.
-
On any Oasis class ship you can get some breakfast at the Solarium Bistro.
-
The Cafe Promenade is open 24 hrs... coffee and some eats there.

Early Arrival - Junior Suites?
Jolly Ogre replied to JazzBassMan's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We got to our port in Dec early like 10:30 and were only Platinum then but in a JS. There was no line and we were escorted to check in and then straight to the suite lounge. There was about 35-40 others just hanging out waiting to board. They had drinks like coffee and water, cookies and brownies for us while we waited. Only had to sit there for about 20-30 min and then they started boarding and the line went very quick 10-15 min and we were on board. Very smooth and no anxiety at all. -
Actually the name of the island is Lesser Stirrup Cay. Royal just renamed the property, but if you look at nautical charts you can find the correct name.
-
Yeah that is not cool that you can't select a room that way. Anyway next time get a travel agent. They don't cost anything extra and are very helpful.
-
Yes that is exactly what I said. There was no judgement at all. I have booked a GTY and picked my own cabin. You just need to be aware of what you are getting into when you do it that way.

Paper Compass harder to come by
Jolly Ogre replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We got the paper Cruise Compass on our last sailing in Dec. I asked for it as well as ice and every night I had fresh ice and the next days compass. Our attendant was great as was all the others before him. I never use my phone while on the cruise. It gets turned off and locked in the safe.
