@Jolly Ogre. Without violating HIPPA rules, How did you tear the tendon, was it complete tear or detachment at the heel? How's it feeling now.......and speedy recovery to you. 👍

I had bone spurs in my heel and after a year of babying it, it finally tore through the tendon while I was walking in a flat parking lot. Had a surgery where they cut the tendon that runs under the foot and attached that to the achilles and pulled it back down and secured with a screw in the back of the heel. 6 weeks in a cast and then 4 weeks in the boot and then will start PT in about a week from now.

As for how it feels? Imagine having legos in your shoes and try to walk. It is getting better but it is a process... have to stretch the tendons and muscles back to where they were before the injury. It just takes time and as I remind my patients we are not 25 anymore so it takes longer to recover. LOL

No, I truly believe if you say you have a mobility issue, that's all they need to hear.

Granted, I didn't test this, but I really don't think they expect anyone to be traveling with proof like that, especially while on their way to the beach

Ok, while I am still in a boot I hope to be walking well enough by Dec to not need the tram, however you can never be to sure how long healing will take.

Well I can see this being somewhat nerve wracking for those of us with planning OCD.  If I were 4-5 months out & still unable to book, I’d be twitching too!

Yes that would be really frustrating, however I have never seen that on all my cruises. Everyone that I have booked with short time it has been available, and everyone that I have booked with yrs in advance have opened up at least 1 yr prior to sailing.

I don't understand how I have been so lucky to be able to book all my dining, drinking and shore excursions so early while the "vast majority it seems" can not or has issues.

Wait, so I could walk into the casino, hand over $1300 and get 3 cruises comped with unlimited free drinks?  Sounds like a deal to me as long as I don’t actually have to gamble.  I’d be happy to just drop off a check.

LOL... yeah it does not quite work like that. You have to pay to play and they want you playing... Just like Vegas there are no windows or clocks.

And how much do you have to spend in the casino to get that zero bar bill??!

I spent $800 on 1 cruise and then $500 on another and now my next 3 cruises that I have booked will all be free drinks and I got 3 "comped" cruises for that as well. So on my last cruise that I only spent $500 in the casino was a comped cruise and I have one in March and next Dec are comped as well.

I have 5 offers for comped cruises that I will not even be able to use.

The value from the casino in drinks and cruises greatly outweighs the losses.

  6. Don't try to do everything...it is impossible.

Only pick to do 1 thing a day and then let the rest just happen.

Rest... take naps in the afternoon before dinner so that you are well rested for the shows.

If you are only going up or down 1-2 decks take the stairs, don't wait for an elevator.

    Stay well hydrated.

Relax and enjoy yourself...don't rush...you will have a better time.

I am on the following sailing so wave as you leave the port.
