  1. Only newbies will book them at these prices... thinking they're getting balcony rooms. This is from a mock booking for April 2021 on the Harmony
  2. Glorified interior rooms... I would price them just above an interior room, not an ocean view
  3. On the Ovation (August 30-September 6 sailing), I overheard a crew member and his supervisor asking a guest for a medical certificate to have an exemption from the drink package rule.
  4. It was their original plan, but the intern only typed in the information about the $50 OBC.
  5. Hi @Matt! Make sure not to miss my favorite activity on board that’s going on right about now (3:30PM) Enjoy your cruise!
  6. I wonder if I can get the free item from the BOGO offers at a later time or day. I almost always sail alone.
  7. Check out this Cruise Compass from a recent sailing. They had a Family Scavenger Hunt on Day 2 https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compasses/anthem-of-the-seas/sat-2019-09-07-0000
  8. I participated in scavenger hunts on the Serenade and the Ovation. They were played at the Schooner Bar. I didn’t realize some ships have them as a show. Just like the Friendly Feud game. I played it in simpler settings but I recently saw a picture of it being played in the Royal Theater.
  9. Check this out: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/02/24/allure-of-the-seas-live-blog-day-4-falmouth
  10. That depends on your interests as a family. Labadee would be for beach/water fun lovers. The zipline there is amazing. I don't know about Falmouth.
  11. Could they have given the low price in anticipation of Dorian? I read something about discounts during that time.
  12. I loved it when I was in Madrid last Spring. The waiters didn't expect any tips other than the loose change I got. It was stress-free dining for me!
  13. Same here. I don't care if I already paid more at a restaurant that is giving their waitstaff the minimum wage, I will still tip well for good service and feel good about it.
  14. How many here wouldn't mind that the menu prices are higher knowing that their waiters are being paid properly?
  15. I have always hated this concept of tipping where servers are paid less than they deserve. For me, the tip is a goodwill gesture for a job well done. Why don't restaurants pay their waiters right? I don't care if they add some amount to my order to be able to do that. But to underpay the waitstaff and pass on the responsibility of "completing" their pay to customers is something I will never understand.
  16. Full disclosure: I "stole" this from another site. It was posted about a year ago. It was allegedly an excerpt from an email sent by Royal to a guest who asked about the breakdown.
  17. No actual breakdown given here, but it gives an idea of who gets a share of the automatic gratuities. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/onboard-service-gratuity-expense
  18. Judging from the comments here and on Facebook, looks like Royal is playing hardball on this one.
  19. Still the same, they should have turned you over to the supervisor
  20. Don’t fret too much about this. The dining staff deals with this all the time. In my last cruise, I was with 7 families, 8 staterooms total. There was a mix up in the online and over the phone reservations but it was quickly sorted out on the first night.
  21. Do the standing booking. When you are sure that certain members of your group are not coming for a particular night, let your waiter know as soon as you can so they can release the table to the guests queued at the entrance. As for timing, I booked for 5:30 each night so I got to go to the shows and parties I liked. The only time I missed it was when we got back late from the excursion.
