  1. I play tenor horn (the elliptical looking brass instrument) in our local German band. We are complete with lederhosen, dirndls, and plenty of German beer! We have a great time. We've been going for almost 30 years.
  2. I love this! I went to their website, but I couldn't find this data. @twangster is this offered only through the login portal? They do have a lot of interesting data and marketing information, in general. It would be nice if this info was within 5 years. Of note, I found interesting the Passenger Origins bar graph:https://cruisemarketwatch.com/passenger-origins/. Will be interesting to see how Spectrum changes things up, if at all. May see movement within brand versus across brand.
  3. @SpeedNoodles I've heard from other posters that the cruises to definitely avoid especially during SB are the 3 to 5 night booze cruises, for obvious reasons. The 7 nighter tend to be more of K-12 families. I can attest to the 7 night cruise theory as I've been on 7 nights during SB, K-12 families by far.
  4. Thank you @twangster. All the more reason to ask why post the cabana rezi for a cruise over 2 years away. They know the interest factor. I guess looking at the demand and what ultimately to price those out at? FWIW, I was able to reserve all of our Alaska excursions 16 months out. Labadee is not PDCC is not Alaska, etc. I'll take a look at the offerings for Labadee and be ready to pounce. Still going to reserve the cabana at PDCC, while I can.
  5. Thank you,@twangster for your reply. Crazy thing is that this it for our Spring Break 2021 cruise. A little over 2 years away! This is the only thing available in the CP. I am going to purchase and then decide down the road if it's a keeper. What I find a little frustrating is our 2020 Spring Break cruise (1 year away), where we are stopping at Labadee. There are a total of items offered in the CP for shore excursions. Does this mean that most of the offerings are already sold out or that they haven't posted them, yet?
  6. I am a tad bit confused as to the location of South Beach, as I don't see any place called that on the interactive map. Is this the same beach that the over water cabanas are located, near the Coco Beach Club? The cabanas are currently listed at $399. The description says that it's convenient to bars, but not any eateries: OVERVIEW South Beach is your spot to amp up the excitement shoreside — and then kick back in your very own private cabana. Fuel your competitive spirit with volleyball and beachfront basketball or explore offshore with paddle boarding and glass bottom kayaking. And when you’re ready to take a break, retreat to your own comfy bungalow where a lush sectional sofa and chaise lounge chairs, beach to bungalow drink service, complimentary bottled water, a cooler and cocktail table offer all the comforts you could want. But space is limited, so reserve your cabana pre-cruise to secure your spot, and lock in the biggest savings — only available on Cruise Planner. HIGHLIGHTS Full-Day Rental: There’s plenty of room for up to 8 of your favorite people on 2 chaise lounges and a lush sectional sofa— plus a cocktail table that houses conveniences like a personal speaker to play your own music, a combination lock lid for storage and a USB outlet. Your private cooler will be stocked with complimentary water bottles, and you will have all the complimentary towels you need. Grab beverages at the nearby South Beach Bar, Sandtrap Bar, or Floating Bar just offshore. Help yourself to complimentary bites at the Snack Shack— plus a self-serve beer station for an additional charge.
  7. We got UDP for a steal, at $126/pp for 7 nights. I understand your point regarding the cost per meal going up, makes sense. I like the dining rotation on Mickey's ship and was wanting to do something similar on RCL. Actually, because of our DS I see us at Izumi at least once a day. ? Fine by me, can't wait to try the hot rocks and the DX sushi combo. OH yeah, also signed up for the sushi making class. Plan of action, then: specialty all the way, request MDR menu items as desired @WAAAYTOOO, lunch in windjammer or in port. Your point is REALLY making sense to me now, especially since we will probably eat in port twice, plus the sushi making class (@$30/pp). Thanks for helping me see that!!
  8. Yeh, Caribbean is much easier to pack. On a Caribbean 7 nighter, we each take our train/carry on luggage, i.e., thinner fabrics, less bulky shoes. I'm thinking of our Alaska Southbound this summer: will fly Springfield, MO to Denver to Anchorage with my hiking boots on, my Columbia bugaboo jacket (ball it up for a pillow on the flight), jeans, flannel shirt worn as a jacket with t-shirt underneath. . . and all 9 pairs of undies! ?
  9. Its aliens! It clearly says that in the alienware topic! LOL! I shall reset my password, just in case.
  10. Thanks. No way we would eat at specialty and MDR in the same night. We don't plan to eat at Samba and would like to replace it in the rotation with another venue. MDR would be that venue.
  11. We have the UDP for our Radiance Alaska Sailing this July. Got it for a steal during the Black Friday sale. Curious, can we also schedule My Time Dining, in case we'd like to go to the MDR instead? I'm assuming so, but I don't want to bugger anything up with the UDP.
  12. This is one thing DCL did right, having several launderettes on several decks. On our last sailing they had the machines synced with the DCL cruise app and it would notify you when your washer or dryer was finished. I couldn't see this on an Oasis class ship, but anything at 4500 or less guests is doable IMHO.
  13. Just applied grats on my most recent booking, just in case. All bookings covered. Anything that is at risk going up in price, prepay and lock it in.
  14. We watched the soccer World Cup last summer on our last cruise. What a blast!!
  15. @Lovetocruise2002 Hi Sabrina! Well, as I noted to @Sweety, we've replaced our Adventure, July 2020 Canada/New England sailing with an Oasis, March 2020 Western Caribbean. I am soooooo looking forward to someday getting on a blog group cruise!!!!!
  16. Dang! I'm sorry to report, but we are have replaced that sailing with Oasis of the Seas, March 2020, Western Caribbean. It would have been nice to finally meet some of you wonderful folks from the blog. . . and a fellow midwesterner, at that! There will be more opportunities, I know. ? I guess I should update my listing.
  17. We are fly-in fly fishing in Juneau, salmon fishing in Ketchikan, in Skagway chartered Never Monday Fishing, Icy straight Point more stream fishing. . . There's a theme. . .
  18. The stateroom pics I've seen remind me of romper room for adults. Pass.
  19. I think being an advocate for the traveler is the biggest reason to use a good TA.
