  1. I have never booked a cruise while on-board the ship. We will be on the Symphony in May and I thought about booking our next cruise while on the ship. What (if any) are the benefits to booking on the ship? Thanks!
  2. Yes. It was a couple of years ago. Frankly, I was a little concerned about the bus ride and, if there were any issues, being late for the ship's departure. So, I was glad to see it offered by RCL. I don't want to be in someone's "pier runner" You Tube video!
  3. Where do you get ice coffee and is it any good?
  4. Last time we were in Falmouth, we went to the Hilton Rose Hall. It was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. I used to avoid Jamaica but I would go back just to go there again! You can book it privately, but we did use the RCL shore excursion because there is (of course) a bus ride involved.
  5. Well, I hate to admit this, but I've been really looking forward to seeing terminal A and getting my own pictures of those propellers. I think they look very cool and are symbolic of getting ready to sail away on our cruise. Who knew I was so sensitive?
  6. First, I use Internet Explorer. Second, I have no idea how to switch to "Incognito Chrome." Basically, it sounds like it's not just me so I'll sit back and wait until it magically fixes itself.
  7. I've been trying to book a cruise (for a few days) on the RCL website including the Crown and Anchor page but I haven't gotten any information - I just get the small print terms and conditions. Anyone else having any problems?
  8. I think you want to be careful wasting time at the bars. I've done it a few ( a lot of) times and I don't normally remember how they end.
  9. We're doing this same cruise in May. We did sign up for the Scenic railway tour on St Kitts and we're going to the Mountain Top tourist trap in St Thomas. Looking forward to your review!
  10. Grusse Gott! Refreshment Package Offerings: • Fountain soda and refills at any venue • Coca-Cola Freestyle beverages • Coca-Cola souvenir cup • Non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails) • Bottled still and sparkling water • Premium coffees and teas • Fresh-squeezed juices
  11. We're doing the Symphony in May and I can't wait! I look forward to your review and pictures. What shore excursion did you do (if any) on St. Kitts?
  12. I was kind of looking forward to the Abyss on our May 2019 cruise on Symphony but I watched this one review where the guy (said he was 6'2" and weighed 225) said it was a tight fit for him and he felt claustrophobic in it. I am 6' tall and weigh 280 and I'm also prone to claustrophobia so I think I may be avoiding this experience. I will definitely take a look though and make my own opinion.
  13. I just read on CC that on Friday (Feb 15th) a couple was late getting back to the Symphony in Nassau and the ship left without them. They probably should have skipped that last beer!
  14. My wife and I are retired and we cruise about once a year. We always book a junior suite because we are "large" people. (gravity challenged!) With the junior suite, you get the bathtub/shower combo instead of that little shower tube. You typically get a larger closet and a generally larger room. It's nice not to have to turn sideways to move through the room. If I was paying for kids or anyone else, I don't think we could afford the JS. I will say this, once you go to a higher grade cabin, it's difficult to go back to a smaller cabin!
  15. 26 degrees celsius is 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Thank-you Alexa!
  16. I'll be on the Symphony in 92 days so I look forward to your blog!
  17. I always sail in a junior suite. Typically, I have embarked with the suites and disembarked, very slowly, with the herd. For my next cruise on the Symphony in 97 days (!) I purchased "The Key" which indicates escorted priority disembarking. We'll see!
  18. Imagine my surprise when I went to the my cruise dashboard today and the button for "Pay Remaining Balance" was lit up. I paid off my cruise a couple of months ago and that button has been dark since then. I am assuming it is a technical glitch because when I clicked on it (a few times), I received a message about connectivity being lost (or something like that). Anyone else have this? If it doesn't mysteriously go away. I will call RCL tomorrow.
  19. I read somewhere that there was a classical guitar player on the Symphony that some folks really enjoyed. Does anyone know that performer's name? A couple of years ago, we immensely enjoyed a Polish performer whose name is Wojtek Kozikowski. He played Classical Guitar on one of the RCL ships and we thought he was great. Just wondered if there was any chance it was going to be him on the Symphony?
  20. Cuba or anywhere else that's different and interesting from the itineraries RCL currently offers out of Galveston.
  21. 100 days until our Symphony cruise (May 18th) and most of the entertainment became available for reservations this morning. Needless to say, I jumped on it and made my reservations!
  22. Hard to believe it's all going to come together by May.
  23. I live near Houston, TX and in 100 days I will be driving to Miami to take the Symphony. I would much prefer to drive to Galveston but, as stated above, Royal Caribbean has very little variety of cruise itineraries. How about the Panama Canal, South America, Southern Caribbean or Key West? Just something different.
  24. My spreadsheet is worrying me for the same reason. I'm beginning to wonder if the specialty dining packages are such a good deal if you can't make reservations until you're on the ship. I'm not sure why it would be so hard to make a dinner reservation and have the computer recognize your plan in lieu of payment.
