  1. I have to say I really enjoyed my specialty meals. Your cruise can definitely be wonderful without, and I've read before with your flight costs you like to stay low budget. But if you can swing it, i have yet to be disappointed in the service or food. I know food is subjective, but i have really been pleased. Jane
  2. I was at a table for 10 on vision. I enjoyed meeting people, but it was a problem with people ending up by themselves. 2 people left for a different seating immediately and then specialty dining made several nights being only 2 or 4 people at that huge table. It was awkward... We didn't request any size, but I'm sure you can. We haven't found traffic to be a problem, however on freedom last time we got stuck in a small back area. No traffic but it was almost clausterphobic! Give me the open room lol! Jane
  3. I did a guarantee room once and it was a great choice. While I didn't get upgraded, I was assigned my room within a couple weeks, it had a great view and I saved a bunch of money! Jane
  4. I think on a 7 night where there are many costly restaurants (harmony comes to mind), I could see it but would really have to compare it to a smaller pkg. I'm not even considering it for the 6 much freedom cruise... it's just too much of the same food, and savor is normally cheaper anyway. Plus I want to do chefs table and that totally kills the uktimate pkg. And sea day lunches are a waste because I'm usually running to the windjammer so im not hogging a seat. Jane
  5. I don't know, to be honest. But I can tell you that vision izumi was the first specialty restaurant I ever ate at on my first cruise in 2015 and It was amazing! The views were incredible! Hope it is stool good! Jane
  6. Over and over... almost as bad as when my husband got caught just short of the door on the "It's a small world " ride. Jane
  7. thank you... I remember when my hs freshman daughter went to Italy and had to be careful about all the children who would swarm. I'm pretty much going to have my small crossbody purse and hug it to my body at all times. I'm kinda paranoid now. I really don't want to go the money belt route because I will have my phone and my camera too. Jane
  8. Totally... this is one of the many reasons to have a TA... let them handle this problem! Jane
  9. Yes they do... My daughter just realized that she needs a new trombone mouthpiece. No trip to the music store needed...amazon prime to the rescue! Jane
  10. That didn't bother me, but the wasting of food does. I'm all over trying different things, but only try a spoonful, not a cup, and then feel free to get more! Jane
  11. And the pkg now is cheaper than the most expensive all inclusive one was before. I'm gonna make myself crazy fretting over 60 dollars on a 2000 cruise! I will need a drink from that cruise pkg! Jane
  12. We got lucky...my last cruise on adventure was during the summer olympics! There was always summering on tv! Jane
  13. I think we stayed at the doubletree too. There was a terrific argentinian steakhouse nearby and we had no trouble catching a taxi to tour old san juan. We actually walked to the beach because we didn't find the shuttle. The price wasnt bad...we stayed as part of our pre-pkg part of the cruise. Jane
  14. Ok...im now following royalcaribbeanblog live but i can't find video or how to find the replay. Hey Billy...how do i do this on the Android!?! Jane
  15. So excited that i have booked my first europe trip....8 day river cruise to and from Paris on Viking. So my question is tied to pre excursions and stays. I did book my hotel in san juan before adventure because it was convenient and included the transfer. It worked great but im not sure it was cheaper. We've already discussed that orlando is prob. not cheaper to tie to an rc cruise. Does anyone have knowledge on Paris and whether it makes sense to do a pre-stay with the cruise lines? Also...any not typical paris ideas not to miss? Tied to all this, im determined to travel with my husband while we are "young"(jeff will turn 50 on the river cruise) and im going to save up for an rc europe cruise. What itineraries are "don't miss" ones and what shore excursions in europe do you remember as great!? Jane
  16. I haven't done the mountain top yet...i keep putting it off for beach time, but i love st thomas and st johns so at some point i will be back! Jane
  17. I did the half in 2011 and the whole in 2014. Im so slow i don't think i will ever do a whole again because my training runs take forever. So im back for one more donald medal! Ok...so back to this thread...what i hate is having to choose between my passion for disney and my desire to cruise and have sea days! Jane
  18. I bought southwest today....round trip for 266. I fly out tuesday afternoon...im running the half on Saturday and you do the whole on sunday but im good any afternoon or evening. Come on matt! This might be the only rc meet i get to! Jane
  19. Anything is better than the winter of 2014 in chicago...though it is what led me to my first cruise in the winter of 2015! I think with the newer "destination in itself" ships, and great ports to visit, i could be persuaded to go someplace colder"... Jane
  20. My best ever of a cruise was my first sea day on my first cruise on vision of the sea. Im a person who goes all the time (and my trips are usually disney busy vacations) and to be able to lay on a pool deck with my teens and not have to do anything was the most relaxing day of my life. I have had great times at ports and on other sea days, but that was the best. Don't forget to give yourself permission to relax and simply enjoy the moments you've been planning months for! Jane
  21. It's totally not...but then again, after 25 years of playoffs, we need to rebuild and wed be losing...id have to listen to my son go on and on about his great blackhawks...barf! Jane
  22. Oh yuck...such a simple thing. Did you notice more sickies or did your family get sick since the cruise? Jane
  23. Are you spending any time the week after? We are there til tuesday or wednesday...hey...rc meet up at the disney marathon everyone! Im actually flying in dec 26 to 30 to chaperone my daughters choir performance at epcot and tickets averaging 550 round trip. Then i fly back on Jan 2 for the race...still have to buy those. I have flown american a lot lately...they aren't significantly way cheaper, but a bit and they seem to have the best times into chicago. Jane
