  1. The benefit to doing so is in case your phone inadvertently goes out of airplane mode. Because of a system alert, my phone briefly activated in Cartagena, Colombia and three text messages and two work emails came through before I could react. Cost wasn't crazy high but if it had happened when the phone wasn't on my person it could have added up (it was 5.5 days worth of stuff that could have come through and that would have been quite a bit).
  2. Check on what the pricing will be. Changing the reservation gets the whole thing repriced at the current rate. If the new price without the second person will be higher, you may want to just have that person be a no-show at departure. You will have to pay taxes and port fees for two at the time of payment but you'll get back those fees for the no-show.
  3. Do you know why the game is called "golf?" Because all of the other four-letter words were already taken.
  4. I've posed as both of my sons for this purpose with other companies. It works.
  5. I LOVE broccoli. How dare you only LIKE broccoli? You heathen!
  6. Apparently, there are some that are convinced Royal has gone too far. World’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, labelled ‘monstrosity’ ahead of maiden voyage | The Independent
  7. Saw them holding children IN FRONT OF open windows, not OUTSIDE OF the open windows. The safety officer needs to be clear in emphasizing that point. Do we know people hold their kids up for a better view? Absolutely. Do we anticipate that people will dangle their children OUT of the window? No, because we expect at least a modicum of common sense.
  8. Royal will certainly allow a rebooking (with the change fee and any difference in cruise fare) for an open spot on the same or another ship.
  9. This is exactly why we planned a large family trip in 2012 to board a couple weeks AFTER our youngest turned 21. The original hope was to schedule with multiple birthdays and an anniversary happening ON the cruise, but that pesky 21st birthday fell on a Wednesday.
  10. The most successful counterfeiting operation in US history was $1 bills. It was much easier to pass off 20 singles than a single 20 because nobody checks small bills.
  11. But some people name their children before they start construction.
  12. You mean the ones that have come through as "Ends Tonight" six consecutive days (with the same information as the previous month of "These deals won't last")?
  13. I see that it was in fact @urgentgorgoroth who resurrected the thread. First-time poster certainly may have been using the search function.
