  1. So true! We have TSA Precheck because we frequently fly in & out of MCO. Makes life much easier IMO. My money my choice. But I often question OTHER people’s choices. My perfectly capable neighbor sits reading a book while someone else cleans her house. I do not get it!! Like us, it’s just 2 of them in an empty nest so how dirty can a house get?!?!? Her money, her choice
  2. You need identification for everyone. Has nothing to do with whether or not your last names match. Yes, you will need her birth certificate.
  3. I don’t know, we sailed out of terminal 1, and I am considered old and in good shape, took 15 minutes tops from getting out of the car in the garage to sitting in the suites waiting area then another 20 or so to board. People have reported issues but they doesn’t mean everyone has or will.
  4. Maybe misunderstood, I don’t use JUST carry ons. BUT my carry on contains 2 days worth of clothes etc in case checked luggage is lost/delayed. If the checked bags didn’t make it on board, we could survive on what I had in the carry on.
  5. Me too! More bells & whistles means more stuff to break down and more distractions while driving!
  6. For our 8 day cruise for 2 people, we will have 1 24” checked bag, 1 21” carry on and my oversized handbag. There are 2 small duffels in the checked bag so on the way home we can check both suitcases and use the duffels as carry ons for the stuff we buy. I am not a clothes or shoe horse and have always packed light. And I refuse to be a pack mule at the airport!
  7. I ALWAYS have 2 full days worth of clothes etc for everyone on the trip in a carryon. And since our stuff is mix & match and wrinkle free/drip dry, I could probably get a 7 day cruise out of what’s with us.
  8. Hubby & I both have a CC with us and I budget $100 per day in cash. We probably spend all but $150-200 of the cash & put a like amount on the cards. This has worked for us for just about every vacation for the past 40+ years. All our cards begin every month with a zero balance so plenty of available funds for an emergency.
  9. Aforementioned daughter is looking for a new apartment as roomie is moving in with her boyfriend. 1 bedroom in the Maitland, Altamonte Springs Fl area. Any apartment owners here? Suggestions welcome!
  10. Demanded?? I’m sure you meant asked the head waiter nicely right?
  11. Nope, looking at the deck plan posted, the hallway is straight across, the room looks the same, balcony appears to be wider. I am hoping to book 2 of these type on deck 8. Loungers are more useful than chairs & a table IMHO.
  12. The price is pretty good right now, $3100 for 2 in the JS for 7 days on an Oasis class. Very reasonable in my mind. Waiting to hear what big brother is doing.
  13. The sort of “plan” would be for him to book 2 rooms, a JS For him & his SO and probably a balcony for his son and mine using the 2 FCCs he has. Then I would just pay him back for my son’s fare. I would book another JS for my husband & I, maybe my daughter if she wants to come. Really my concern is there will be a lack of JSs if I wait. Probably not a good idea this time around.
  14. Ok this thread has me thinking (never a good thing!). I’ve advised my brother (remember him? Missed the Harmony cruise?) to contact his TA about the FCC kicker that seems to be, well, kicking around. Suggested a 7 day WC on Harmony in May as a possibility. I will also then need to book my family on that cruise. Our next cruise is in late October. Should I wait to book on board? Or is that too far away?
  15. How/where are these deals offered? Any place special I should keep my eye on? My son could eat his weight in sushi but we were never able to make it happen in March (even with a suite concierge but that’s a whole other thread!). Will be on Harmony again in May and I’d like to make up for it.
  16. You want them to switch you TO MTD? Isn’t that what you already have?? Do you want to switch to TRADITIONAL dining?
  17. To me they look deeper not necessarily wider. Certainly something I will keep an eye on for booking. Thanks guys!
  18. I pay my TA 7-10 days before final payment is due.
  19. With a credit card, you can immediately dispute charges and the CC company will take the lead in getting it resolved. And you won’t have to pay for it or incur interest charges.
  20. Thanks, I took a screenshot & will send it to my brother with the suggestion that he ask his TA about it. Hopefully she will know if it is still available. Appreciate the help!
  21. When our itinerary was changed, it took easily 3-4 weeks for the excursions to show correctly.
