Have you ever tried this? If so did it work well?

This is the biggest component. Have you ever noticed on a YouTube video you have the little ad at the bottom or the video is delayed by an ad? Those are the ads that goes back to the ones who upload the videos. Some other things may be sponsored. Another way like how Matt can run this site is something like Patreon or a storefront like Spreadshirt. When you support them through those sites you help keep them producing good content. There are other ways like Amazon links that when you click it they get a small % back for the recommendation.

I think they want the drinkers though. Alcohol alone would be profitable I am not sure a cover charge would be the best move in my opinion.

The thing with youtubing/blogging is that to make any money you need to do a lot to get there. I honestly think to make money it takes more work than an actual job, to be honest. I've started a little blogging on the side and if I didn't enjoy it I don't think it would be worth it.

I would like to add that if you booked prior to January 1st you will want to prepay grats because it would be at the old rate. If you booked after January 1st then it would be the same rate prepaid or not but is good to get it out of the way. If you do plan to do a lot of drinking then maybe consider the drink package but if not then like @twangster stated there are ways to find free or cheap liquor with different events. You also can bring 2x 750ml bottles of wine to help offset that spending.

I remember @twangster noting some of the codes he discovered on the medical emergency on his last cruise.

We will be doing the Murder Mystery dinner. Not sure if its on every ship or if it would be sold out by now but it seems like a neat idea.

RC will have sales periodically. We had 2 pretty much a week or so apart, and gaps between others. It comes and goes randomly. Not sure if there's much of a pattern. When is your cruise? Also, welcome to the board.

This is the case for myself too. My wife rarely drinks (heck she has lowered my tolerance too lol) and it was worth it for myself but not when I have to buy too. I understand it but this trip I got the refreshment package because I still can get most things and go al la carte for the liquor and it's still only 1 person needing it. We'll bring 2 bottles of wine for her and that should last her the whole cruise.

That's the biggest issue with food reviews. Unless they explain the flavour in detail it's really subjective and may be influenced by things like where they are from and what they tend to eat, to begin with. If they compared it to something referenceable it might be better.

has anyone tried southwest? I think they go there now.

The funny thing is I have lived here for 15 years and have yet to do the parasailing as we find it kind of pricey. http://www.parasailgrandcayman.com/ here is the one I know of. I would call or email them because I'm not sure if they ever got the boat fixed. I honestly haven't seen it flying in a while but that could be because it's only out while I'm working.

That might be good. I will have voom on board so it would be more of getting a text or checking emails between things and if I need to rush back to the ship to do work then I can always do that. I'll check it all out though. Thank you all.

What about the rest of the Caribbean? My stops include St. Kitts, St. Marten, San Juan (guessing this one is fine), and Laberdee. Do they just have a different rate for these places or no service at all?

So our local carrier sucks and we don't have any real roaming plans. Does anyone know of any good options for someone like me? I travel often to the US so a sim car would be handy in either case. My goal is to be able to use the data before and after the cruise and if I need to do anything at the ports it would be nice to have the backup. Is there any good option? I wish I had a Google Fi compatible phone as they seem awesome but not yet.

I don't know about Bonaire, but I know here these things are new and I haven't even seen them in the stores yet. If you want this type of mask I would highly recommend getting it now. Otherwise, you might be disappointed at the excursion.

Okay now the sale is over and my internet went from 30% to 20% and is still the same price? So were they just lying about it being 30% off that whole time?

I actually love Denny's. Anytime we go to the States we go almost every morning. Cheap as hell for us too. lol

As a twenty-something, this video actually made me want to go on my cruise more, we're on Bellissima in May 2019. I love Royal they are great ships. I do find that you feel (at least thats how they make it out to be) more luxurious for less, on MSC than what you would pay on Royal in Europe at least. We got the Fantastica package, according to the deck plans we got upgraded to a balcony and it was under $500 pp for a 7-night cruise. They are stricter with clothing which I like as I hate when people come into the MDR on a formal night in beach clothes. Its one of my pet peeves and this is one reason I hated NCL. This ad really made me think it was more of a luxury ship. There were a few names there that we are already following and it is actually a cool way to do it in my opinion. I mentioned this on another thread how they had much more options and better prices for Meditranion than Royal and they are more well known there. I see it like how many of us here would pick royal first over other brands, this ship is intended to do the same for Europeans that already love MSC. I will be able to compare the 2 next year and decide if I would ever do it again or not.

Now I wonder how the Gluten Free version tastes. I am not supposed to eat Gluten (Sometimes cake tempts me and I suffer the consequences later but 90% of the time its worth it lol.) I can tell you even Dominos (we don't have many options here for pizza places) GF crust is best described as cardboard lol, even the frozen stuff so I am personally hoping they are a step up from that or at least the same.
