Website glitch where the options don't really match the offering. I always pick the first available time as the selection does not really change anything.

Central Park view vs Interior Oasis
Larry Muster replied to foxrunner's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We bounce back and forth between all cabin types but the one we were looking forward to the most was our Central Park Balcony. However, it fell flat. We did NOT enjoy CPB because of the noise. There was always noise from CP or from the top deck. We agreed that we'd prefer an ocean-facing balcony or an interior much better. -
Opinions of Jewel OTS ?
Larry Muster replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
My only Jewel complaint is that they replaced the Thermal Suite with staterooms. Such a bummer especially now that she's going to do the colder Canada cruises from Boston next year. -

I'm just going to say I am the biggest fan of the MDR experience. I love it soup to nuts! I organized a group of 18 with mostly adults but a 4 or so under 16. They put us all together at a very long table off to the side. They even had the table marked with a big reserved sign on it with my name which was a nice touch. However it wasn't as great as it could have been, but it was all our fault. Sometimes we were not all there right on time, people would move around based on whatever conversation was going on - it was a tiny bit chaotic. Taking the order of 18 people took quite a long time and inevitably someone would want to change their order by the end of the process. Dinner was slow and clunky - again all our fault. We did it again the following year and did multiple tables of either 6 or 8 and had a much better experience. So my two cents is get a couple of tables instead of trying to act as one big party.

Yeah, both in my party went GTY and got deck 3. It's not a location I would have chosen but happy to be on a ship. Either way, I am certain I can make it to Schooner in under 90 seconds so that's good enough for me. I do have one question. One in our party just got their room assignment last week. Their luggage tags have not been updated yet - do you know how long that usually takes?

Add 6 year old to Friends Room but sleep in our room
Larry Muster replied to A2ndChance's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
All of these workarounds sound fine but are magnets for hassles that may pop up during the cruise. This scenario complicates boarding, the job of your stateroom person and heaven forbid mustering if there is an emergency. If I'm paying thousands of dollars for a vacation, my policy is that I will not entertain any workarounds that could complicate anything. -
Star Trek Charter Cruise on Royal
Larry Muster replied to Stvr California's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I've done this one a few times - including the first one which was on Norwegian. It's a TRULY UNIQUE experience from the perspective of a Loyal to Royal person. The usual Royal Cruise Director staff are non-existent and replaced by ECP (Entertainment Cruise Production) staff. Don't expect any of your Royal Perks - as they don't work. No early boarding, no Diamond Lounge or Diamond Drinks etc. However, on the last few cruises, they did open the buffet for a 4th meal at midnight which was really cool. LiveLongAndProsper -
To anyone but the OP: Hypothetically speaking, what kind of medical condition would prevent me from drinking cold water?

Cheaper drinks, package/deluxe
Larry Muster replied to Macfoot's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I don't know if the other responses have considered the nuances of your request. I believe you'll need to make a phone call to take advantage of any price drop, considering the unique situation you're in. I find myself in a similar situation, where my partner has the Refreshment package, and I have the Deluxe package. If the price of your Deluxe package drops, you should be able to cancel it without any issues. However, when you try to re-add it, the system will likely block the transaction, and you'll need to call and request an exception again. -
We actually did it on oasis. Just looking at your puzzle pieces. It looks like the oasis escape room was much higher quality. It was a totally immersive experience with equipment that we had to manipulate and different stations around the room.
-
Anyone know how often they change up the escape room? If we did it last year are the odds good that it’s exactly the same?

I've been on 3 of the 6 StarTrek cruises offered by Entertainment Cruise Productions. They (ECP) did an amazing job converting the ship into a StarTrek theme, rebranding venues, totally transforming the elevators etc. The traditional royal entertainment staff is virtually nonexistent as well are the traditional Royal activities. All are replaced by Trek events hosted by ECP. The challenge is the price. Trek cruises are 2X+ more than the same itineraries, but it's pretty clear why. The Celebs come with a pricetag.

I don't think that's going to cut it. It appears the Catholics have a pretty firm stance that online service will not cut it. Below is what I found supporting this. The reason for all this - I'm hoping to bring my nephews on a cruise, but their mother is hardcore Catholic and does not bend. Trying to figure out how I can position this to increase the possibility of being able to bring them. The short answer is "no." The Church requires us to attend Mass, in person, on all Holy Days of Obligation and Sundays. Individually viewing the Mass will never substitute for this encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. Attendance at Mass is also commanded by the Third Commandment. This is commanded by Jesus in two distinct places.

Since there seems to be no guarantee there will be a priest on board, does that mean true hardcore catholics can't cruise over a weekend?

credit card payment at end of cruise
Larry Muster replied to mike2608's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes! I had to do this recently as I wanted to pick up the expenses for my neices' rooms. Quick and easy. -
I was on a charter cruise on Navigator within the past year and they did the midnight buffet every night. I only went once but it seemed pretty well attended.

Monsters of rock cruise on the Mariner
Larry Muster replied to ScottD's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The one theme cruise i have experience with was an entire ship charter, so all bookings were made by the group running the cruise (Entertainment Cruise Productions). I can't tell if the MORC cruise is the same arrangement or if you can still book through Royal. -
If you are on a ship that has freestyle there is Dasani sparkling water and they at least have lemon / lime, and maybe more.

I have never complained to guest services before, but on a recent Voyager cruise, I complained over a dog. A passenger let her dog roam on one of the lower decks and up and down the stairs. The dog was leashed, yet loose. It nearly tripped me on the stairs creating a dangerous situation. I showed the pictures to Guest Services and they knew exactly who the passenger was and said they would have security talk to them "again". Super frustrating that the passenger created such a frustrating and dangerous situation.
