  1. Alaska excursions that involve helicopters or small planes are up there. We didn't book through RC (except one we had to replace last minute due to weather) and I don't want to try to remember what that trip cost, lol, but it was worth it.
  2. Ah, OK, great! That's what I was hoping for. We're definitely going to the West End, just not having a full meal there. Anything stand out? Was the chocolate factory worth it or more of a tourist trap to get you to buy some at the end?
  3. Thanks for sharing. Sorry about the restaurant debacle but glad you enjoyed the tour. Sounds like you basically just drove around the island and saw stuff rather than actual stops? That's definitely part of our plan but we do have a few stops built in. Between frugality and my picky wife, we're not doing a full lunch. I told our tour company (Rony's Tours) to just take me to a quick service type place, food truck, taco stand (whatever they have in Roatan) to try some local fare and move on. We're making an obligatory sloth stop for my wife but also going to Rony's home town and visiting a school there to donate some supplies since my wife is a teacher. We like seeing some of how the locals live when we go somewhere for the first time then after that we do more touristy stuff.
  4. I believe @Lovetocruise2002 has one of these booked and started a thread about it a while back. I'm sure she'll chime in when she sees this and is free.
  5. Was never crowded in the mornings last week. I was routinely the only one there around 6:45-7am. I made my cappuccinos to go while the crew member put out breakfast. If I went a bit later I maybe saw a few people. We have a private tour in June (a re-do of 2019 when high winds prevented Harmony from docking there). Please share any highlights. We have a general list of places we want to go but I can always add to it. Enjoy!
  6. This. You will see everything from casual (shorts and short sleeves) to suits/dresses. Whatever makes you comfortable.
  7. Had one once and enjoyed the extra room and light from the window even though we're content with regular interiors and didn't actually use the bench and window a ton. Hope you like it! Standard caveat: Keep your curtains closed when they should be, lol.
  8. Thanks. Was mostly just curious.
  9. And it's only March... I might melt at Paradise Beach in July. Got a daybed that was more for my wife at the time but sounds like I'll need it for the shade!
  10. Was pretty great on Wonder last week. MDR - I've never been a big MDR fan and I even enjoyed most of my items there. WJ - Slightly less variety but good Indian food as usual and some surprisingly good items like ribs and grilled shrimp. Picky wife thought the burgers were better than they used to be. Hand scooped ice cream at lunch and dinner. Solarium Bistro - Mostly a repeat of WJ with a few unique items. Love their breakfast smoothies and the woman running the omelet station made very large and well made omelets. El Loco Fresh - Ate there almost everyday. I can always go for tacos and the quesadillas were fine too. Park Cafe - Still enjoy their breakfast sandwiches, didn't have a kummelweck (too many afternoon trips to ELF), enjoyed the pre-packaged to-go wraps to keep in our cabin fridge as a snack. Mason Jar brunch - My new favorite specialty restaurant. Playmakers - Big fan of their burgers and garlic parm fries. Sorrento's - Still mostly just a place to grab pizza when everything else is closed but I find it to be improved over the past 9 months. Much crispier and less soggy. I gained my usual 10+ pounds on a 7N cruise and enjoyed doing so.
  11. I was on Wonder last week. Had an amazing time as always. Long live blog below if anyone's interested... LIVE BLOG: WONDER - MARCH 17-24, 2024
  12. Isn't it also like 2am on your way into work? Lunch at 9am would make sense for you, lol. Mentioning hoagies and breakfast makes me think of my favorite breakfast food cart at Penn 25 years later. Huge bacon egg n cheese on a hoagie roll.
  13. I wish my insomnia went away when cruising.
  14. Haven't been to Disney in forever even though I live near the MK but agree Disney Springs is a great place to go for shopping, eating, hanging out, etc.
  15. You’d like Wonder’s then. Weird. We never go to the MDR for any of those but pretty sure all the sea days were brunch on Wonder. Solarium Cafe was also brunch on sea days which Matt wrote about & praised but I didn’t get the appeal. It just meant from 9am-1pm there were both the usual breakfast items & the usual lunch items. I can see eating breakfast foods at noon but not sure who was eating the hamburgers at 9am.
  16. I have seen people organize stuff like that on the FB group pages for recent cruises. I can’t tell you how common they are though. I’d check there.
  17. I call my wife picky, and she is, but you guys have a vendetta against certain items, lol. I love it. For the record, it was nothing special, but there were no raisins in my apple cobbler on Wonder.
  18. If you think it's worth it to begin with, sure. No clue about mats, sorry.
  19. Also, I was reading a thread across the street and realized I completely forgot to check the CL in the afternoon to see if they put out snacks, lol. It's usually just cookies and other stuff you can get elsewhere but still. Me not checking a free food venue is blasphemous! It's now on the list for June. @WAYNO, if you happen to visit the CL in the afternoon, let me know if there's any food out. If not, no worries.
  20. If it makes you less envious, I think we have to cancel next March. And to make it even worse, that's the best price of all my Wonders, so I'll likely wind up booking something in July 2025 for a whole lot more.
  21. Sounds like a great combo! My wife would ask them for just the roll... she loves asiago bread and asiago bagels but wouldn't actually eat the sandwich, lol.
  22. I think you should jump on the June 2nd or July 14th sailing this summer (I know you can't but still). I can't help you while you're in the suite neighborhood but I swear my wife and I just don't experience the shenanigans everyone else seems to. We definitely lean toward not being bothered by stuff unless it significantly impacts our enjoyment, but (knock on wood), that stuff rarely happens on our cruises.
