  1. I can’t lift and shift because I already have Odyssey booked for Italy/Greece October 2021. We’re using FCC for this October Symphony so if it cancels, we’ll just apply to Odyssey. We may even try and jump on Mariner May of 2021 after our daughter’s wedding in Orlando. Our FCC was quite large as it was a JS on Symphony for this past May. That FCC was enough to cover our October Symphony and all but $300 of our Odyssey.
  2. Carnival and NCL have now canceled through September 30. My October 17 Symphony is definitely not looking promising
  3. Yeah probably the same person that posted on Facebook yesterday. That’s when I went I looked at mine.
  4. So this happened PRIOR to the new suspension of September 15........ My itinerary for October Symphony now only says Perfect Day CocoCay. St Thomas and St Maarten were removed. The ports still show in the excursions in the planner and if I do a mock booking, but on my blue page (countdown page) they’re gone. All ports still showing for my 2021 Odyssey though. Anyone else have their Caribbean ports disappear? Were they really planning just private islands stops in the restart? Hmmmm.....
  5. Ok I’ll throw someone a life jacket ? ........ We will cruise when foreign ports open. Remember, the US are not the only ports in the world. Royal sails out of several foreign ports. I’ll be curious if any non CLIA lines will start up sooner in Europe. (If there are any!) The suspension is for vessels over 250 passengers. I think these river cruises are still a go, in the US and Europe. They’re the guinea pigs in this. I’ll ask my friend who’s a hotel director for American Queen. From what he said the other day, they are still starting up July and August. Although with the recent spike in cases, they may extend as well. I realize it’s on a miniature scale but I’m sure the big guys will be paying attention to how they’re doing. Im going to continue to hold onto that sliver of hope my mid October Symphony is a go. It replaces my canceled May. Our FCC’s will fully pay that October cruise and all but $300 of our Italy/Greece Odyssey in 2021. I just hope the lines can hold out a little bit longer.
  6. I wouldn’t freak yet! It’s either good or very bad. Since Fain just put out another feel good video today, it can’t be bad. Let’s think good!
  7. This is an excellent article for everyone to share on their social media. Perception versus reality of cruise ships. Most all of us can relate to the measures taken to keep us healthy onboard. Now it’s time we let Joe Public know that ships aren’t the Petri dishes they’ve been led to believe they are. http://www.yourcruisecoach.com/cruise-travel-and-covid-19-perception-vs-reality/
  8. The CDC won’t even express any interest in what the cruise lines are proposing. That’s not right. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/06/18/wall-street-cdc-blame-cruises-not-resuming-sooner
  9. Carnival needs to scrap the ship in Jacksonville. That thing is ancient and a rust bucket. I've not been on it but many friends have locally and it leaves little to be desired.
  10. Masks are mentioned.............. https://www.virginvoyages.com/ahoy/stories/voyage-well?mi_u=00Q3s000013h5XoEAI&utm_source=Email&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=SL-VoyageWell&sfmc_id=
  11. Maybe a TA can answer. I thought the FCC was given according to how you originally paid. You are full price plus 25%, your wife’s original fare plus 25% and your child’s original fare plus 25%. I’ve seen here where people in a stateroom all have different amounts on their individual FCC’s. So now you’ve gotten an answer that still doesn’t answer your question! Hopefully someone will break the tie!
  12. Great pics! Back when cruising was for the “older” crowd! ?
  13. Grab your torches and pitchforks! https://www.marketwatch.com/story/norwegian-cruise-investors-can-blame-the-cdc-for-extended-cruise-suspensions-analyst-says-2020-06-17
  14. Maybe we start now prior to Thursday meeting. Let them know we’re ready! Stupid CDC probably thinks no one wants to cruise.
  15. Here’s what I posted in @DunwoodyDad’s thread: At what point do we passengers grab our torches and pitchforks? I’m about ready to start making some noise. ? If you can sit in a movie theater on land, you should be able to sit in a theater on a ship. If you can sit in a restaurant on land, you should be able to sit in a restaurant on a ship. If you can fly on an airplane that can have upwards of 1,000 passengers in a day, all smooshed together breathing recirculated air, why not a cruise ship? So if we all did start being squeaky wheels, WHO do we complain too?Senators/Representatives/Governors of port states? Inundate the CDC phone lines and socialmedia? I think it’s time they hear from US!

  17. I would imagine one reason for lift and shift was to get people off these late summer/fall cruises to reduce capacity. If they still need to reduce the numbers, my guess would be offering a healthy FCC to move. I don’t think they would bump people off. It’s not like the airlines where you can just catch a later flight that day. I think that would really upset people. For those that work, some companies aren’t flexible moving your vacation time. We’ll all have to wait and see....
  18. I never pay my balance until 90 days out. Why give them your money any earlier than you have to?
  19. Speaking with our favorite locals in St Maarten.....that Island was hurting badly after Irma and Maria with no cruise ships for weeks. First time cruise visitors are IMPERATIVE to these islands. Tread lightly Caribbean governments. Although will youREALLY notice the extra $200-$300 in your cruise fare? I will agree with @WAAAYTOOO about developing more private destinations. I’m looking forward to see what they eventually do with Grand Lucayan.
  20. I believe this may be a legitimate reason.
