  1. Has anyone heard news yet? I read on a Facebook group they had no cases of the virus. No link was given though.
  2. Well this is something NEW! I had an October 17 on Symphony canceled and check in was normal. Got a noon boarding time. So this 2:30 thing definitely is different. What are y’all’s C&A status, suite or Key? I’m wondering if 2:30 is suites, Key and Diamond and up boarding time.
  3. It’s on Hallmark right now. Sounds so silly but man, it hurts. ? Chops, Central Park, Boardwalk. Goofy acting but I’m only watching to see the ship. I’m afraid I’ll burst into tears when I get to board again. I’ll be the one crying at embarkation next May lol.
  4. What I like so much about @Matt is he’s not scrambling to be the first to report. He patiently waits to be sure the news is true before reporting. What a novel idea! Something our media in the US has forgotten. Thanks Matt!
  5. I’ve got Sharla at MEI working on mine for May and October. I’ve got over $500 in premiums between the 2 canceled cruises. Honestly it’d be robbery if these companies kept premiums on an event that never happened.
  6. I don’t have a problem with getting tested. My issue would be false positives. I would assume if you test positive they would offer a retest a short time later. Would be so disappointing to travel all that way and then be denied. I can understand testing before boarding. RC can claim all passengers at embarkation were virus free. Sure someone could become symptomatic the next day but to find positive cases beforehand is due diligence on behalf of the cruise line. They are trying to insure the most possibly safe environment they can. One last concern is what about the people who were close in line with a positive case? What happens to those people? So many questions.......
  7. With the TUI cruises a few weeks ago, the original cruises for those dates were canceled and the cruise line booked all new reservations.
  8. https://realmoney.thestreet.com/investing/stocks/jim-cramer-thanks-jay-powell-for-letting-cruise-lines-keep-cruising-along-15395828
  9. Well my friend who was hotel director with Royal and now with a river boat company “hopes” the ships are going again by January. Not surprising. Bye 2020.
  10. I’ll call my friend who was a former hotel director for Royal and pick his brain. He’s currently HD for a river cruise line here in the states but stays in contact with his RC peeps. Of course he felt we’d be good by October but we all know now that isn’t happening. Your very first signs will also be when we can gather in larger groups again. That has to happen on land before it can happen at sea.
  11. Hopefully it’s just agency groups. We’re currently booked in a MEI group rate
  12. Ok I knew that story. May scared me lol! I’m on her that October and thought I had plenty of cushion. If it was bumped again, I’d be getting concerned. Hopefully no more mishaps
  13. Several years ago our Oasis Cruise was partially chartered by LulaRoe. They make obnoxious leggings for women but men were wearing them too. It’s a MLM scheme and those people kept trying to sell to passengers. They were quite annoying. Men in leggings ?
  14. Wait what? When did that happen? What happened to April 2021?
  15. So we are booked on Odyssey out of Rome October 2021. Friends wanted to join our group and literally no cabins available. It says interior staterooms not available. Ocean view not available. The only balcony rooms available are handicap accessible. Ive never seen this before. Either the whole ship is booked or they’ve already sold a certain percentage for reduced capacity. Now for my May Symphony in 2021, lots of interior cabins available. ?
  16. I don’t care about pleasing the media. The CDC is who counts. I still say that once these lines show they can handle cases on board without spread is when they’ll lift the order. When that is is the $64k question.
  17. This is the key. Managing a positive case. If done successfully, there’s hope. It’s already been shown (Princess) that quarantining to the ship for several weeks was a disaster. It’s going to come down to how outbreaks are managed. The virus isn’t going away.
  18. Unfortunately you canceled the cruise and therefore only eligible for 100% FCC. If you had waited until RC canceled, that’s when the options of refund or 125% FCC were available. You can convert a 125% FCC back to a refund up until December 31, 2021.
  19. Another to watch. Hope it all goes well. https://mscfans.blog/2020/07/31/msc-to-restart-cruise-operations-in-august-with-2-ships/
  20. There’s nothing like driving into any port and you see that first glimpse of the ship. Gets me every time.
