  1. Can’t decide what time to do. Wondering if it might be foggy in the morning and that afternoon might be better? We will be there end of may. Any suggestions?
  2. They are pretty strict in Miami. In October though, we ended up getting on 1/2 hour early. We had the noon checkin. So if things are running smoothly, you may all get on by 12:30 if you choose to wait until 1:00. Are your reservations linked? If so, you may want to keep your time. Go ahead and get onboard and then you can schedule your shows (and any specialty dining) for everyone while you wait for them to board.
  3. We’ve only sailed Royal and honestly have had no desire to experience others. We will be Diamond Plus by October. I will admit, we booked more cruises than we normally do in a year due to double points but we also are doing a bit of “revenge travel” too due to no cruises during Covid. I don’t see us getting to Pinnacle. We’ve never sailed in a suite before (have a JS for Alaska) so we’ll never generate the points to get there. Becoming Diamond Plus was never a real goal until double points came along. Suddenly it became attainable so we are going for it. Going forward we are most interested in the “bucket list” cruises. We’ve got 2 this year. I like that our status will be matched by Celebrity as that opens up some different itineraries overseas. We’ve never been disappointed or dissatisfied with Royal. If they went “poof” we’d probably head towards NCL. Carnival is just not our style. I’ve heard enough from friends and message boards that leave little to be desired.
  4. We’re sailing on Radiance in May with our soon to be graduated 22 year old daughter.
  5. However, Royal just posted another quarterly loss. They’re still bleeding. At some point they need to fill the ships and I’m not so sure that continued protocols (masking, testing, possible boosters) will allow that. They’re are still a lot of people out there wanting to cruise but the protocols are preventing them.
  6. I know 3 stories like this. One being my daughter. She’s been directly exposed to Covid 3 times (1 time riding in a car for 4 hours, 3 were positive she never got it) and hasn’t gotten it. She’s double vaxxed, no booster. (Original Covid, delta and omicron) My 90 year old MIL who is NOT vaccinated rode in a car for 5 hours with a relative who tested positive (original Covid) the next day. She didn’t get it. She goes out all the time too! Beauty shop once a week, church twice a week, grocery. My friend had original Covid. Slept next to her husband every night. He never got it and neither did their daughter. None were vaccinated at that time. No vaccine available yet. It does happen. These people need to be studied! Lol
  7. Latest poll: 70% of Americans are ready to put Covid in the rear view. Double vaxxed and boosted are getting sick too. I don’t think boosters are the answers to what appears to be the new common cold. I’ve got 3 cruises (Caribbean, Alaska and Holy Land/Greece) through October. I’ll do the damn booster to take the 2 bucket list cruises but I’ll stop cruising after that if boosters are required year after year after year. I’ll have to retire as a brand new Diamond Plus and never get to enjoy the benefits. 70% is a pretty substantial number.
  8. I read in one of the Wonder groups that she’s there until the 3rd. Admin got in touch with a crew member onboard
  9. I don’t think the light colored sofas are a good idea lol
  10. Do these TV’s look HUGE to you? And the little pegs under it? To hang stuff? This from crew member who just boarded this morning in Cyprus
  11. There haven’t been cruises yet since Covid that have ended in Vancouver. I would expect those protocols are being worked on as I type. I would think they’ll be released sometime in March. We also end in Vancouver so I’ll be waiting too to see what Canada/US is going to require and how we’re supposed to get tested.
  12. Here’s the current letter you’ll get in your cabin (well current as of late October)
  13. Well Europe for one will be interesting. Currently in Italy, your last shot of vaccine has to be within the last 9 months and I believe I read come February, it has to be within the past 6 months. There are rumors though that before tourist season sets in, this will be dropped. If it isn’t dropped, that means a booster will be required to fall within their 6 month period for most Americans. We’ve got a cruise out of Rome this October. It also will visit Israel-who also has strict vaccination requirements. I’m watching closely on this one. Not thrilled about a booster. I’ll do it to travel this year (2 international trips) but no more after that. I’m done with this stupid virus
  14. Only bucket lists going forward. Will do Caribbean once a year because you just have to! Hope to cross off 2 bucket lists this year. Alaska and Holy Land/Greece. 2023 is reserved for Icon and …….. 2024 is either Norwegian Fjords or Baltics. Hubby turns 60 and 35 years of wedded bliss
  15. 50 years is a good long time though. Still sad. https://www.cruisehive.com/former-royal-caribbean-cruise-ship-beached-for-scrapping-after-50-years-of-service/64854?fbclid=IwAR1g1lSE8AtpVLNuSy5Et4bbhR0OUDfs1r2ROTbzKb-tcZV7DkLmVxlXJTY
  16. @PRebecca@AshleyDillo I do feel for you two We couldn’t dock back in October due to a cold front that gave us high seas/wind. Sunday you may not even be docking due to winds. I’d stay up late Saturday, sleep in on Sunday and order room service! Still better than being home! Oh wait! You’re Sunday not Saturday! Saturday peeps will not have a perfect day
  17. I can’t get excited until I see her heading west. Ok I’m actually excited! Lol I won’t feel relieved until she heads west.
