  1. The self-serve coffee is the complimentary coffee. There is a brewed coffee option at places like Cafe Promenade or Park Cafe on Oasis of the Seas that are premium coffee. The premium coffee is the coffee you order and the barista prepares for you. Lattes, espresso, etc.
  2. We found the terminal (Terminal G) on our Navigator of the Seas to be a bit small, but we arrived early to beat the crowds. I think it behooves you to arrive before noon if you want to beat lines.
  3. Yup, a reader on Freedom said the Captain reported 30-40kt winds and 3-4m swells in port. Reporting similar conditions in San Juan tomorrow
  4. Yes, I am targeting an Alaska GC in June 2018. Those itineraries should be released next week, and then I hope to be able to pick a sailing quickly to set it up.
  5. Given you are British, all I can think of is this meme
  6. Welcome! The answer is no, you will have to wait for your next cruise to take advantage of your Diamond status. Loved it! One of the best cruises I have ever taken, second only to my honeymoon cruise. You can read my live blog here: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/category/category/navigator-of-the-seas-live-blog
  7. Your SetSail pass has a bar code on it. The bartenders/waiters can scan that barcode and know you have the package.
  8. The date floating around is the 8th for a release.
  9. I don't always follow this rule, but we learned the hard way to strongly consider a second room for the kids. We love our children, but sharing a stateroom with them is a struggle.
  10. Try a specialty restaurant or two onboard (like Chops Grille) and be sure to enjoy sailaway from the helipad of Adventure of the Seas (deck 4, and go all the way forward).
  11. Freedom is skipping Labadee today due to weather too
  12. As I recall it is a generic form of meclizine, which is the active ingredient in over the counter medicines like Bonine.
  13. It's pretty common to hear of folks that want to try the Oasis class express concern about crowding on these ships. I can tell you from experience that RC manages crowds extremely well on Oasis class ships. In short, the ships were designed with crowds in mind. RC knew they could not use the conventional cruise ship model for a ship the size of the Oasis class, so they designed neighborhoods to help break up crowds. In addition, they offer a lot of activities and entertainment which further disperses crowds. Frankly, I would not characterize the pool crowding situation to be any worse than Freedom or Voyager class ships.
  14. As many of you know, Royal Caribbean will begin releasing its 2018-2019 itineraries on the week of March 6: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/01/24/royal-caribbean-announces-2018-2019-deployment-opening-schedule-dates Please use this thread to discuss changes you see of interest, as well as any particularly good deals. Personally, I'm always interested in odd-ball sailings, like a weekend sailing on a ship that does not offer it usually.
  15. Thanks for the update. An extra sea day on Harmony is not a bad way to spend your time!
  16. I don't believe they expect you to do that. There is the option, but 18% gratuity is more than adequate gratuity for a spa treatment. You can certainly tip more if you feel the masseuse was very good, or did something extra to make you feel more relaxed/feel better, but that's at your discretion.
  17. Most sushi rolls are around 8 pieces in size (give or take 2 pieces). 2 rolls is an average meal and 3 will leave you feeling full. In my glory days, I could pack away 4 rolls but that would require a nap after.
  18. My guess is you are out of luck. One strategy to minimize likelihood of not having enough photos you like is to take a lot of photos. Ask for extra shots when a photographer is taking your photos and look for other photo opportunities. Law of averages in my family dictate with enough photos, we will eventually find ones we like. :)
  19. To be clear, the bottles in that link are only offered via a pre-cruise purchase. Of course. Every hotel, bar and restaurant upcharges for alcohol at their establishment. It is unfair to compare the price of a drink on a cruise ship to how much it costs at your local liquor store.
  20. Welcome! Hard to say. For my Navigator of the Seas cruise on Feb 17, we suddenly saw a sale about 1-2 weeks before sailing. But there's no guarantee eitherway and if you had asked me 3 weeks before my cruise, I would have told you "probably no sale". So who knows. Keep checking back every couple of days. I think this depends on how you like to enjoy your day. The beach beds are nice, but it probably favors someone who will take advantage of them (i.e. someone who spends a lot of time there, instead of in the water or on an excursion). Someone on our recent cruise was raving about the virtues of the beach beds, so I can at least tell you they are a nice way to spend the day in Labadee.
  21. The next time I ask for "bread", I might be giggling to myself thinking about your attempt to order some
  22. I've heard those things, but has the change from a la carte to cover charge at Sabor on Allure actually happened? Assuming it has (or will), on Voyager and Freedom class ships, generally not. But it was offered on Freedom a take out option: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/10/13/freedom-of-the-seas-secret-ordering-sabor-guacamole-the-bar Never hurts to ask!
  23. Good point. When in doubt, if it's fried, it will taste good. I mean, I dare you to find anything fried that doesn't taste good! :P
  24. I agree with Raye, I find the best deals available onboard when the ship is in port. Spa discounts online are kind of a new thing, and there are some savings to be had. It just seems like onboard they are more "creative" with the discounts.
  25. Welcome Chris! I've enjoyed reading your posts since you started posting here
