  1. My understanding is they do not. They get their tips from restaurant cover charge. Again, that's just what I had heard since the beginning of specialty dining.
  2. I believe this only occurring (thus far) onboard.
  3. Assuming.... You are resident of USA (based on your profile here, it looks that way) You did not book a non-refundable fare Not past final payment date (which you indicated it is not) Then yes, you should be able to
  4. If they were to add gratuity on top of the regular priced specialty restaurant cover charge (i.e. $49 for Chops on Harmony), then yes, I'd agree that's just above and beyond greed. But for the purposes of the dining packages alone, I can totally see where charging gratuity makes sense.
  5. Yes, that was how it was explained many years ago at least
  6. It does, and the tips go to the people that help guests at the bar and clean the bar.
  7. I did it back in 2010, but it's just like a Build a Bear on land. Pick the type of creature, stuff it, dress it, pay for it. Did you have a specific concern or question?
  8. What is the name of the excursion?
  9. Here's a look at the dining package prices with the change from Oasis of the Seas My understanding is the price of the packages dropped $5 per person. Regardless, when you pay the full cover charge, that cost is/was supposed to cover the additional cost of food, gratuity, and of course profit. With the dining packages, you're often paying 30-50% less for the meal. Regardless of cost to guest, waiter should still get full tip amount, just like if I have a coupon for a restaurant on land.
  10. I've heard its a good time and not just for kids.
  11. So you want both beds together to form a Queen size bed.
  12. It's not uncommon in the industry. Disney Cruise Line's newest ship does 3 and 4 nighters out of Port Canaveral, and she's somewhere between Voyager and Freedom class in size. Frankly, I think it's overdue.

  14. That happens more often than you think
  15. Probably should code up a bot to answer for me based on keywords. RoboMatt
  16. The dry dock was announced earlier this year: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/04/28/5-interesting-facts-royal-caribbeans-first-quarter-earnings-call
  17. Pinging @monorailmedic and @KLAconQueso, as they are both veteran cruisers and vegetarians. RC picks the first one, but you can change either reservation once onboard. I'll defer to Billy and Kayla's answers, but I do believe it is still worth it.
  18. Just because I can't resist (not attacking @mworkman), the Mariner news and CocoCay news is old. We've known about the drydock since April 2017: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/04/28/5-interesting-facts-royal-caribbeans-first-quarter-earnings-call and the pier being ready in June since April: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/04/27/royal-caribbean-officially-breaks-ground-cococay-pier
  19. In short, you cannot combine dining packages. The reason being all dining packages require you to take the first meal on night 1 or night 2.
  20. Here's an overview of the dining packages and how they work: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/01/28/spotlight-royal-caribbean-dining-packages
