  1. The Icon of the Seas hype train has left the station. I think this is one of many moves they'll make to market that ship as much as possible leading up to her launch.
  2. Hotel list: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/04/05/best-hotels-near-port-canaveral-the-cruise Yes
  3. Wont be ready soon enough. I've started taking Lyft to the port to avoid dealing with parking. Is it cheaper than parking? Nope. But I really hate starting my cruise off annoyed at trying to find a spot.
  4. Yes, but you need to call in and request this. It can't be done online
  5. I think this article should be helpful: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/07/22/the-clever-reason-bring-european-power-adapter-your-cruise-ship
  6. Welcome to the message boards! I highly recommend booking with a travel agent instead of directly with the line. The price is never higher with a travel agent, and often agents can get access to special rates that you couldn't book through the website (such as group discounts and agency rates). This article should also be helpful: How to get the best cruise deals: 15 easy tips
  7. Welcome to the message boards! I assume you mean the Splashaway shown in the thumbnail? If so, that's Wonder of the Seas
  8. Sorry you had a bad time on Princess, but glad to have you back in the fold!
  9. Agree, time to get a good travel agent to work for you. As you may be aware, MEI Travel is our travel agent sponsor of this site and they are wonderful. Go to https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com and fill out big yellow form and they will contact you.
  10. My best advice is to book now and re-price up until final payment date if there is a sale
  11. Ovation has an indoor pool for guests of all ages. Most other ships do not, so I wouldn't expect them to change Solarium rules for Ovation in Alaska.
  12. Yes, I believe so. The other questions you asked are difficult to answer with any kind of certainty. My parents live in Southern California and based on what they told me and my below-average amatuerish meteorologist observations, I would not hesitate to sail on Navigator today.
  13. If your email uses HTTPS and has a valid certificate, it should be encrypted. Let's put it this way, I check my email on a cruise.
  14. They did get rid of JVF, but they had a job posting shortly thereafter for a new Chief Meteorologist https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/05/23/royal-caribbean-posts-job-opening-new-chief-meteorologist So it's possible they hired one.
  15. That doesn't mean it's okay to take food off the ship. The signs are there to warn you that if you're caught, there are serious consequences. Don't take the fact they don't personally check every person and bag as allowing anything.
  16. It looks like it has been updated. Enjoy all those baby monitors
  17. There are lifts in at some pools I've seen. I admit, I haven't paid close enough attention to verify every ship has it, but as an example, it's on Anthem of the Seas main pool because I saw the crew actually using it.
  18. For an 8-night cruise, you're better off prepaying. There's an old thread where @twangster did the math, and only on 3 or 4 (and maybe 5?) night cruises are you better off waiting to book onboard with the Diamond discount
  19. Something to remember about any hurricane is the news media is routinely wrong in forecasts. Storms change path all the time, so don’t assume anything is 100% for what may happen.
