  1. Past hour
  2. Wife’s custom Sorrento’s order… burnt cheesy bread (yes, she wants it that way). I don’t need it that well done but it is pretty good. And she finally contributed to the voucher cause. For some reason they’re using large glasses for daiquiris this cruise. I grabbed a Polish sausage from Dog House while they made her pizza & had a Twisted Tea. Still trying to take it a bit easy after last night. No pics, it looked like a hot dog & a can. Also had some of her cheesy bread.
  3. No. But I was recently at Nassau and we rented a buggy to drive around for fairly cheap. We got around and saw alot of stuff on our own. Visit locals' favorites, avoid tourist spots. That is what we did and we loved it.
  4. Today
  5. @Hoppy2BHere found me in the Solarium. I’m managing to meet quite a few posters lately.
  6. The fact that you had to ask lets me know I’m not the only one confused. Its head. I think those are nostrils. The back legs are kinda stretched out. Couldn’t find an angle to show the face & the whole body.
  7. Hmmmm…interesting. Are we looking at its head or its butt ?
  8. Cow? Dog? Lime & Coconut, first drink of the day. Not that many of my drinks are strong anyway but want to keep it light after last night. Would have gone to Mason Jar for Moonlight or Tea but didn’t feel like crossing the ship. Not much to share, wife is making friends in the hot tub. More people are in here now but definitely not crowded. Oh, and we’re pretty convinced that there are definitely more kids than the last 3N leg. This feels like a typical summer cruise (small catch, we weren’t out and about doing adult stuff like Perfect Couple or Schooner Bar last night). Update: wife’s new friend asked about our cup clips. Where’s that affiliate link, @asquared17?
  9. Yeah so alien feeling!! Ewwww!! I spoke 3 words in Lisbon Bon, dia, obrigado
  10. We've enjoyed the various Specialty Dining packages in the past as well. When we travel with our younger grandkids (and their parents), Kathy and I prefer to book specialty lunches so we can all enjoy good times in the MDR as a big family. Some of the sales on the specialty lunches are pretty amazing. This allows us to get our Izumi, Italian and Chops "fix" while maximizing family time at dinner (the best of both worlds).
  11. I knew it was Portuguese but my pronunciation is more fun. Tough language. Every 5th word seems similar to Spanish but the rest is totally different.
  12. Love any excuse to sound pretentious Also, “bom dia” is Portuguese! Pronounced bon gia. The only thing I learned in Lisbon Glad you are feeling better today! You’ve got lots of making up to do after missing last night!
  13. HA! I thought they meant "rescue stations" i.e. muster stations.
  14. ...and that might explain part of the reason why they're not a thing on most cruise ships these days. Like the Bionic Bar, it takes up some space that could be deployed to generate more sales dollars.
  15. Excellent. I pair it with the mushroom soup or lobster bisque.
  16. Yes! After having done a few UDP, we quickly realized that most specialty dining venues, if not all, have the same menu every day only varying options between lunch and dinner. I don't want to be pigeon holed into sticking to specialty dining only. So, as of this year, we do our top 3 favorites and get the 3 night package. If we want to go to another specialty dining, we just pay for that ala carte. If we did a 10 night or more, maybe the UDP would be okay. Lastly, the lunch options are sometimes way more attractive if the menu items that you would get at dinner are available at lunch. In fact, we do not feel it necessary to go to Chops or Jamie's Italian again for dinner especially since we really enjoy the burgers at both venues for lunch. So much cheaper and still get the same experience for our tastes.
  17. That's my mom's favorite!
  18. snorkeling, if you have your own gear you dont need anything. if you dont and you do the excursion there is a shack in the snorkeling area and you show up there and they'll give you the equipment and a brief safety review.
  19. @OCSC Mike good to hear you are on the mend. Nothing worse than a bad headache on embarkation day. It's happened to me too. Sometimes the hustle and bustle of the day, not enough water, too many drinks, and for me, the artificial scents in rideshares can set off the headache for me.
  20. I thought some of the ships had them at one time. I remember one of the ships I was on had one, but it was never working
  21. Has anyone been on this tour? Thoughts? Was there a lot of waiting around in the sun?
  22. How is the crispy goat cheese salad?
  23. Precisely what the rest of us cheese-loathers do !
  24. Thanks, I missed trying 1-2 drinks but that was my favorite frozen one from last time.
  25. Salmon & onion omelet from Solarium Bistro which starting to fill up. They put cheese in my wife’s “plain” omelet but quickly made her a new one when she took it back. I do like how Royal is usually good about rectifying small mistakes whenever possible. I’ll start saying “no cheese” after “plain” like I’m used to doing for my wife’s burgers that often wind up with cheese. After that we popped into the CL to ask for aqua show reservations. He said come back after 7pm for a special pass. No biggie, we could go standby, but might as well get reservations. No idea what a special pass is. Then we stopped in WJ for my fruit bread & some pastries from the kids section. Updated set up with food & my wife’s telescopic travel fan.
  26. Oh man, I sail on Freedom Sep 6th. I’ll be traveling south via TriRail and use Lyft to the terminal. Will I have trouble getting a ride share? Also trying to find a cruise schedule site that shows which terminal not just the date and pax capacity.
  27. That looks like the suites lounge at Terminal G.
