Howard
How does one pay for the Arcade games? With the sea pass? How much do the games cost (roughly)? (Obviously I’m asking for the kids!)
Rose City Cruiser
You can load up the credits onto their seapass cards. There is usually a cruise planner deal that can be purchased.
twangster
I watched a review of a ship recently where the person noted the arcade games were in the $1.50 to $2.00 range. SeaPass card only. You'll want to consider placing restrictions or limits on your kids Seapass cards because they can burn through a lot of money quickly in the arcade. Almost like going to the casino. You can either pre-purchase arcade credit on the Cruise Planner or buy it from a machine in the arcade once onboard. 1 hour ago, Howard said: How much do the games cost (roughly)? Depends on the game. Most games are in the range of $2 (+/- 50 cents). Some of the newer games and/or games with prizes are in the $3 range. melski94
If you purchase in the cruise planner, you will find "deals" for $25 in credits for $20. When those credits are used up, they can't continue playing the games unless refilled. If you pay per game, the kids have an unlimited number of swipes. As for spending limits, there are reports that those limits aren't "trackable" in the arcade so be careful and check your onboard account. On Liberty, I could buy the discounted arcade credits on the ship. My kids were told not to refill it themselves (they obey as they know the punishment will be severe). On Harmony, we waited to purchase on the ship because the C&A discount is better than the cruise planner discounts. However, I couldn't buy the bulk credits on Harmony but had to pay per swipe. I was told that you had to buy the credits in advance on the cruise planner and those you could refill on the ship. So every night (usually not there until the next morning), I waited to see how much my kids spent in the arcade (it ended up to be about $10-$15) but it was much more stressful. BTW, if you want to use the C&A discount, you need to track your kids account and go to the Loyalty desk when they have spent a certain amount. Each seapass card needs their own credit, unless your kids are good with sharing one card and the tickets that are associated with that card. So the bottom line is that Royal is inconsistent with their arcade policy. In order to avoid the hassle, I suggest you purchase a small amount on the cruise planner and refill on the ship as you desire.
